Most games do not need a token of any kind. Tokens work in an ecosystem. One racing game is not an ecosystem nor is one shooting game. You can’t force gaming ecosystems they come naturally from really good and viral IP. Save tokenomics for later.

A web3 game ecosystem with tons of modding & 3rd party dev is gonna be the coolest thing ever.  
  
Any ideas on tokenomics or ecosystem structures that facilitate auto-value transfer to various 3rd party devs based on player activity?  
  
Loot > $MAGIC ecosystem probably best example

98% of the folks in web3 gaming are just speculators. They don't care about good content, they don't care about projects shipping, it's all token based.  
  
That's a major reason why we don't see growth across the board.

The reason web 3 games are taking so long to build is because everyone is figuring out the same thing  
  
To make it faster AND cheaper we'll need:  
\- Tools & software for easy blockchain integration  
\- Democratisation of web 3 knowledge (i.e. community, tokens, etc)  
  
Anything else?
