# Success! **Published by:** [WatersHobart](https://paragraph.com/@watershobart/) **Published on:** 2023-06-05 **URL:** https://paragraph.com/@watershobart/success ## Content On 13 May, in the area of nearly 100 metres deep water in the Guangxi River basin, over 15,000 tons of medium-sized sea oil NCP 20-4 was successfully connected to the sea-based drilling platform and submarine-conductors, creating a new record of the size of the floating floating power of our offshore oil and gas platform, filling the domestic technological gap. Liu Jiayi, Director-General of China’s Centre for Deep-Water Construction of Hydrocarbons, stated that the operating process amounted to a super truck of more than 220 metres in length and 40 metres in breadth, with 10,000 small vehicles, a drop-in bank on the sea floor of the changing influence of wind streams, and that the periphery could not exceed 10 centimetres, challenging the design accuracy, reliability of the dynamic positioning system and the technical level of operators. Staff informed that in my country, the operation had long been carried out by technicians abroad. This operation, from design, calculation, simulation to construction, is the first time that my country was independent. Upon completion of the installation, the NCP20-4 platform will enter the drilling phase, with production in the second half of this year, which is expected to serve as the platform for the highest yield of the NPS field. The crude oil produced is transported through the seabed pipeline to refineries off our coast. It is understood that the NP20-4 offshore drilling platform hosts one of the fastest growing oil fields in our current crude oil production, which is fully post-natal, with a peak of more than 3.6 million tons of crude oil, which will give new impetus to our economic and social development.
