### What does it mean to have an L2StateOfMind and why should you care?

Layer2 scaling solutions are in full-swing as November 2022 heats up - and it’s important for anyone interested in Web3 to understand why. DeFi, NFTs, DAOs, and more are being built upon L2 scaling solutions and it is just the beginning of a mega-trend - in my view - it is good to be early…so get prepared now!

There has been much traction in regards to DeFi and also NFTs on Layer2 and now many more questions about the innovative L2 NFT created and released by the Layer2DAO, and in this article will share some highlights.

### The NFT Collection from the Layer2DAO titled “L2StateOfMind” is an especially unique NFT.

In this brief post, I wanted to highlight a couple points for those L2 Ethereum enthusiasts who still may not yet be aware of the utility.

### Overview

First off, the Layer2DAO is a protocol focused on investing in high-impact protocols in the Layer2 Ethereum ecosystem. It is its own DAO, but one dedicated to supporting the growth of Ethereum through scaling solutions. So what is L2StateOfMind? It’s an NFT that provides L2 cross-rollup utility, the very first of its kind, but also symbolizes what the Layer2DAO values and is working to spread awareness about.

You might already have an L2StateOfMind, and just not the NFT - or vice/versa. Best to probably have both!

The utility comes in the form of doubling the weekly $ETH claim of all $L2DAO [stakers](https://staking.layer2dao.org) on Arbitrum who hold the L2StateOfMind NFT on Optimism. Simple. Substantial.

The meaning, which took much more time to craft - is to symbolize through the form of NFT ownership - a commitment to the enabling power of Web3, and Layer2 scaling solutions in particular - in empowering people and the positive impact that these solutions can bring to the world.

Layer2 is about scaling - about being able to do more. Having an L2StateOfMind is much the same: Choosing to strive to go higher; to push for the next level, and always remain optimistic in the face of obstacles. Visually, this is represented by the wings on each NFT, and the shield represents the DAO’s commitment to supporting DeFi, digital sovereignty, and inclusion.
