Winnie the Pooh and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood love their "honey," but perhaps they would enjoy a nice glass of wine too! Here we match up wines with Pooh characters based on their personalities.

Winnie the Pooh - Pooh Bear loves his honey, so a sweet wine would suit this silly old bear. We'll pair Pooh with a German Riesling, which has notes of peach, apricot, and honeysuckle. The residual sugar will appeal to Pooh's taste for sweetness.

Piglet - Our small friend Piglet can be anxious at times. He needs a wine that will calm his nerves. A Pinot Noir from Oregon would pair nicely - it has a smooth mouthfeel and notes of cherry and spice. The earthy nature of Pinot Noir will help relax Piglet.

Tigger - Fun-loving Tigger is always bouncing around and filled with energy. Only a sparkling wine has enough vivaciousness for this tiger. We'll pop open a bottle of Italian Prosecco, which has bubbles galore along with flavors of lemon and apple. Tigger will love the excitement of the effervescence.

Eeyore - Oh dear, Eeyore seems to always be gloomy. He needs a wine that can get him out of the dumps. A bold Cabernet Sauvignon from California would do the trick. Deep ripe fruit flavors and robust tannins will help Eeyore lighten up.

Rabbit - Rabbit likes to take charge and can be quite fastidious. A French Bordeaux suits him perfectly, with its structured tannins and herbal notes. Rabbit will appreciate the elegant complexity.

Owl - Wise old Owl. An aged Port would go nicely with his meditative nature. The flavors of dried fruit and nuts will give Owl much food for thought as he reflects on the mysteries of life in the Hundred Acre Wood.

Christopher Robin - Our hero Christopher Robin is a kind-hearted young lad. We'll end with a playful Lambrusco for him. This bubbly Italian red has fruity flavors of strawberry and violet - perfect for a delightful afternoon picnic!

So next time you're in the Hundred Acre Wood, consider sharing a bottle with your favorite Pooh character. A bit of wine can liven up any exposition or blustery day. Cheers!
