Built by the community for the community. A new Mosaic everyΒ day. * The Mosaics platform enables anyone with an Ethereum-based web3 wallet to draw pixels on a community canvas. * Every 24 hours, the canvas becomes a mintable 1-of-1 token called a Mosaic. The creation of each Mosaic is controlled through a daily on-chain auction process. * The Mosaics platform can support over 10,000 concurrent users in real time. * Our companion collection "Pixies" provides holders with enhanced benefits and experiences in the Mosaics ecosystem. * As Mosaics are wholely created by its community, they will be in the public domain under the CC0 license. Afterward, the canvas is minted as a 1-of-1 token on the Ethereum blockchain. The freshly minted Mosaic is then auctioned to the community. Auctions for Mosaics last for 24 hours. The person with the highest bid at the end of the auction wins the Mosaic. Once the daily auction is settled, a new canvas is created and made available to the community. This process then repeats with a new canvas and auction running in parallel. The idea is that each Mosaic will represent a snapshot in time from the community, creating a timeline of pixel art as the project grows older. The goal for Mosaics from the beginning is to create a self-sustaining web3 platform. * * * The Mosaics Canvas ------------------ ### Packed with Features The Mosaics canvas is where most of the action takes place and is packed with amazing features. ### 🎨 Color Palettes Our default color palette has a spectrum of 32 colors and can support up to 256 colors. Cooldowns are used to manage server traffic and prevent unnecessary spam or abuse. Our goal is to keep the cooldown as low as possible for the community. Cooldowns can be further reduced through contributions while owning Pixies. ### πŸ”” Notifications Get notified directly within the platform when your next pixel is ready to be placed. It even supports optional browser notifications to notify you from anywhere. * * * Mosaics Auction House --------------------- The Mosaics Auction House is the heart of the Mosaics platform. As each auction is settled, a new one begins, introducing the platform to a fresh canvas for the community to collaborate on. Mosaics utilizes the same smart contract architecture that [Nouns](https://nouns.center/dev/nouns-protocol) uses for its platform and token distribution. ### πŸ’° Daily Auctions The Mosaics Auction contract is responsible for minting new Mosaics and auctioning one Mosaic every 24 hours. * 80% goes to the Mosaics DAO treasury, whereby Mosaic holders can publish and vote on proposals, to fund initiatives furthering the Mosaics platform and community. * 20% goes to the Mosaics' founding team, which pays for server costs, platform maintenance, new features, and future initiatives within the Mosaics ecosystem. ### 🀌 Bidding Bids can be placed anytime during the 24-hour auction cycle. When new bids are placed, the previous bidder is automatically refunded. If new bids are placed during the last 5 minutes, an additional 5 minutes will be added to the auction timer. ### 🀝 Settlement Auctions must be manually settled to start another auction and a new Mosaic. Anyone can trigger a settlement. The settlement must take place for the Mosaic to be distributed to its new owner. * * * The Pixies ---------- Pixies are your companion for Mosaics. Take them with you on your journey, as they are packed with benefits within the Mosaics platform, granting holders exclusive features and utility. Holding a Pixie grants you access to its’ Pixie Map. The map acts as the reward system and "reveal" mechanic for your Pixies. The map will consist of a series of levels, where each level you complete grants you new rewards and benefits. Each Pixie will progress through their map by meeting the criteria at each level. Pixies will undergo various transformations, unlocking new traits the further you go. Note: The Pixie Map is not another token, but an activation and reveal mechanism for Pixies. More information about the Pixie Map will be released in time. ### πŸ”“ Reveal Stages Upon minting, Pixies will all start out looking the same. Over time, Pixies can transform, unlocking new traits and making your Pixies unique. To progress through each stage and unlock new traits, you will need to take your Pixies on your Mosaics journey. We can't wait to see the fun and innovative ways our community will engage with Pixies. Pixie Dust ---------- Pixie Dust is a magical substance used to birth new Pixies. Pixie Dust will be released as a free mint alongside Pixies. Although it smells weird and gets you high, it only grants you basic benefits within the Mosaics platform. Pixie Dust can be "burned" by paying a fee, which, in exchange, mints you a Pixie and unlocks its true value. This is completely optional, meaning you can hold onto it for as long as you'd like. Note: the total supply of Pixies includes the supply of Pixie Dust. As a result, a DAO will be created, giving more control to the community, helping choose new directions for the platform, and funding new ideas and initiatives.
