Womxn in Web3 Privacy — Q4 2024 Report
How It Started
In September 2024, a new initiative was born out of Web3Privacy Now to center gender-related challenges in the intersecting worlds of privacy, cryptography, and web3. What started as a conversation quickly became a collective - led by values, powered by community, and rooted in care.
Womxn in Web3 Privacy is a growing network of contributors building safe spaces, tools, and resources that prioritize dignity and autonomy for all. With dedicated contributors and warm hearts, we move forward, together.
⸻
Our Mission
Womxn in Web3 Privacy exists to uplift and connect individuals who identify as women and are working in, affected by, or curious about privacy and cryptographic systems. We create spaces for learning, collaboration, and resistance, through open toolkits, events, and scholarships grounded in decentralized values.

Building Community Infrastructure
In Q4, we laid the foundation for the collective’s digital home and communications:
• Launched social channels to share updates, opportunities, and insights
• Opened our Telegram community, where contributors and allies gather to co-create, collaborate, and stay connected
• Built and designed the first version of our website, currently under reconstruction🏗️
This foundational infrastructure allowed us to grow our contributor base, amplify our message, and invite more womxn into privacy-centered work.
⸻
Marketing Hackathon Bounty
To celebrate creativity and strengthen privacy narratives in Web3, we sponsored a $100 bounty at the Web3 Marketing Hackathon. The submissions were so aligned and powerful that we doubled the prize.
Two standout projects included:
One serendipitous moment from this event was meeting Araya, whose talent and values aligned so closely that they soon joined us as the designer behind our upcoming website.
⸻
Devcon Bangkok Side Event
In November 2024, we hosted our first in-person side event during Devcon Bangkok.
The event welcomed over 60 attendees, with featured talks from Lisa Loud, Park, and Ais Connolly & more. The space was vibrant, thoughtful, and generative - holding space not only for womxn, but also for male attendees who asked meaningful questions about how to support the women in their communities.
As always, the in-person connections made an impact.
Find all videos of the talks here.
