**_Acacia subracemosa_**, also known as **western karri wattle**,[\[1\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_subracemosa#cite_note-lucid-1) is a shrub of the genus [_Acacia_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia) and the subgenus _Pulchellae_ that is [endemic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endemism) to a small area of south western [Australia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australia)

Description
-----------

The spreading shrub typically grows to a height of 1.8 to 5 metres (6 to 16 ft)[\[2\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_subracemosa#cite_note-FloraBase-2) and has hairy branchlets. The leaves are composed of three to six pairs of [pinnae](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinnation).[\[1\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_subracemosa#cite_note-lucid-1) It blooms from September to November and produces cream-yellow flowers.

Distribution
------------

It is native to an area in the [South West](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_West_\(Western_Australia\)) region of [Western Australia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Western_Australia) where it is found growing in sandy soils over and around [limestone](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Limestone).[\[2\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_subracemosa#cite_note-FloraBase-2) The range of the plant extends from near [Witchcliffe](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Witchcliffe,_Western_Australia) in the north and around [Augusta](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augusta,_Western_Australia) with the bulk of the population located to the west of [Karridale](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karridale,_Western_Australia) usually as a part of [_Eucalyptus diversicolor_](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eucalyptus_diversicolor) (karri) forest communities.[\[1\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acacia_subracemosa#cite_note-lucid-1)
