# Z-TEXT: Blockchain Password Manager, No Server to Hack

*Every password manager stores your vault somewhere. Z-TEXT stores it on the BitcoinZ blockchain — with no company server in between.*

Every password manager you've used, including Proton Pass, Bitwarden, and 1Password, stores your encrypted vault on a company's server. Strong encryption on each individual entry doesn't change one structural fact: one server breach can expose every user's vault at once.

Z-TEXT's password manager runs on a fundamentally different architecture. Every entry is encrypted twice — once with a key derived from the wallet seed, once with the master password — then written directly to the BitcoinZ blockchain using zk-SNARKs zero-knowledge proofs. There's no central database anywhere holding passwords in one place, because the blockchain itself is the storage.

How is this different from Proton Pass or Bitwarden?
----------------------------------------------------

Both are excellent tools, but both still concentrate every user's vault on one server. Z-TEXT shields vault data directly on-chain — even someone examining the exact block sees only that a transaction happened, never its content.

What happens if you lose your phone?
------------------------------------

Restore the wallet from the seed phrase on any device, and the encrypted vault comes back automatically — it's already on the blockchain, waiting. Enter the master password, and everything decrypts. No cloud account, no sync service, no export file to remember.

The honest trade-off
--------------------

No browser extension means no auto-fill in Chrome or Safari. In exchange, there's no bridge between the browser and the vault — the exact connection point malicious extensions and autofill-phishing attacks exploit in other password managers. Using the vault also requires running a BTCZ wallet.

One tool among four
-------------------

The vault is part of Z-TEXT's 4-in-1 app — messenger, wallet, password manager, and broadcast channels, all under a single seed phrase. Pricing starts at $3/month, comparable to standalone managers like Proton Pass, but covers all four tools together.
