As the first project of unique digital badges as verifiable proof of attendance for virtual or in-person events , POAP is popular in web3 and has successfully captured many loyal fans all over the world. This mirror article aims to help you understand some basic knowledge about POAP and POAP Art so that you can better participate in it. 1.What is POAP? What's it for? POAP is short for "Proof of Attendance Protocol". It is a permissionless ecosystem for the preservation of memories. The platform provides the infrastructure for issuers to mint and distribute digital collectables that mark life’s most memorable moments. POAP is a protocol for the preservation of memories as digital records, minted as non-fungible tokens on the blockchain under the ERC-721 standard. POAPs, the collectibles, are NFTs minted under the Proof of Attendance Protocol smart contract. 2\. How to get POAP? POAP is minted on the Gnosis chain (formerly known as xDai) by default and can be migrated to the Ethereum mainnet, but a migration fee of 0.1ETH+gas is required. There are many distribution methods of POAP, such as mint link, secret word, delivery, QR Code, etc. (The POAP team has designed a variety of different distribution methods for different event scenarios. If you want to get a POAP, you should follow some active communities. What is a POAP Paint Party? The paint party is a large on-chain event based on POAP.art. It requires an eligible POAP (or POAPs) to gain access to and interact with the canvas. If you happen to hold one or more of these POAPs, congratulations, you can participate in this event; if you fail to hold any of these POAPs, then unfortunately, you cannot participate in this event up. POAP.art is an interactive digital canvas that allows artists of all skill levels to collaborate with one another, make original pieces of pixel art, and mint them as an NFT; effectively cementing your art digitally on the blockchain forever. The world debut of POAP.art was on April 15th, 2021 during the Berlin Upgrade Party hosted by the ETHStaker Community. This event had 226 individual artists collaborating and placing over 63,000 pixels on the canvas over a period of only 70 minutes. At the end of the call, the canvas was minted as an NFT and put up for auction. 4\. How Do I Paint On The Canvas? In the upper right corner, you’ll see a button to “Connect Wallet”. Click on that button and connect to the same wallet address you used to receive your eligible POAP. Once you have connected your wallet, you will notice a color palette in the lower right hand corner. Select a color and begin coloring in pixels! The party usually lasts for several or even tens of hours, and the artists will be given sufficient time to create. Any of your wild and unconstrained ideas can fly freely in a square inch.
