# How To: Set up your MetaMask

If you are looking to join the growing #NFT community you will need a MetaMask to be able to participate in most projects.

A MetaMask Wallet allows you to buy NFTs from popular exchanges like OpenSea.

[Click here](https://metamask.io/) to download the extension. You will need a chrome browser to install the extension and connect the wallet to different sites.

### Step 1: Download the MetaMask Extension

MetaMask works best on a laptop or PC but the mobil application is also very convenient.

### Step 2: Write your password and Seed Phrase on a piece of paper you will keep safe

It is important not to store your log in information on your phone. You must also make sure you keep the paper you use to record your password and seed phrases secure as this will be the only way to get into your wallet and thus the only way to access any assets you acquire with your wallet.

### Step 3: Deposit ETH into your wallet

You must transfer ETH into your wallet to be able to make your purchases. We recommend using Coinbase Pro to buy ETH.
