What is, DeFi — Decentralized Finance?

According to Wikipedia:

Decentralized finance offers financial instruments without relying on intermediaries such as brokerages, exchanges, or banks by using smart contracts on a blockchain.

Don’t get me wrong, this is nice and all — but what does it actually mean? To end-users, what is the purpose of DeFi? why is it primarily being used?

The simple answer to “What is DeFi” — The answer you would get asking any standard user, is: “Deposit assets (tokens) > Earn Rewards (Yields)”.

Decentralized Finance, like traditional finance, is simply seen as a way to increase one’s wealth — Though an easier, higher-yielding alternative. An alternative accessible by all, offering a much broader range of assets that generate much higher yields. A supposed frictionless experience to finance.

DeFi has a modest $100,000,000,000 worth of value locked into it. Nonetheless, relative to its objectives and core functionalities — it is a pain in the a*s to use. The broad range of different yield-bearing pools, protocols & assets makes sure you, as a user, never earn as much yield on your assets as you could — and if you do want to earn more yields or re-organize your portfolio— you either need to spend lots of manual time doing so (Often on a DAILY BASIS, or even an INTRA DAILY BASIS), or, you would have to settle for a lower yield, often riskier alternative.

DeFi, in its attempt to be an easily-accessible alternative to traditional finance, has created its own bubble of poor, manual & highly fragmented user experience, with a high entry barrier that requires vast time and often specific knowledge. DeFi users are left confused, giving in to the circumstances — but it doesn't have to be that way.

Introducing Yieldchain — DeFi’s 0-code Yield Composability Layer

Yieldchain is solving DeFi’s impractical & fragmented user experience by allowing everyday, non-technical users to assemble their own, fully customizable no-code yield strategies, on top of absolutely any protocol, pool, or asset — and deploy it as a fully functional & automatic vault with the click of a button.

Yield Strategies — WTF are they?

Yield strategies are, simply put, the act of utilizing your yields in a certain way, or order, with the intention of maximizing them, or in order to adjust your risk level.

The most simple example of a yield strategy would be yield compounding, the strategy goes as follows:

Deposit tokens > Claim Rewards > Deposit Tokens (rewards)

You are essentially claiming the rewards you earn on a daily basis, and depositing them back into the pool — growing your principal sum that you are earning yield on, and thus increasing your total yields as well — it works on the principle of compound interest.

Another simple strategy, this time for mitigating risk rather than maximizing yields would be:

Deposit tokens > Claim rewards > Swap (Exchange) for non-volatile asset (Stablecoins, BTC, etc)

Here, you are de-risking by constantly swapping the rewards you earn (being volatile assets) for stable (or relatively stable) assets. You are now constantly earning “stable” rewards, on a potentially declining asset.

More complex yield strategies exist, too. Yield strategies can be as simple or as complex as you want them to be, and at the end of the day they’re meant to fit your own personal needs & general strategies — some folks go with simple compounding, while other, more sophisticated DeFi users assemble highly complex & thought-out strategies.

That sounds like a lot of work, bruh :/

You are totally right — It is! Manually executing yield strategies is an extremely time-consuming task. Even the most simple strategies (such as the ones described above) can take 15+ Minutes to execute on a daily basis — not to mention more complex yield strategies. Multiple dApps, multiple transactions… A boring & repetitive task. End users simply shouldn’t experience that much friction within DeFi.

How can I easily solve this problem?

Look no further — Yieldchain is your indefinite solution.

Aimed to make your DeFi experience user-friendly & effortless, Yieldchain allows YOU, the user — to assemble your own custom yield strategy — as complex or as simple, as degenerative or as safe as you’d like, built on top of any pool, protocol or asset — on a NO-CODE interface. And, with the click of a button — deploy it as a fully functional, automatic vault.

Who is this for?

Yieldchain is for everyone — novices & DeFi giga-brains alike. It is being built with everyday, standard users in mind!

What does it look like?

Let’s have a look at the strategy assembling process:

Step 1: Choose the protocol & pool you want to build your strategy on-top of

Step 2: Choose the strategy execution timestamp (Aka, how often you want the strategy run)

Step 3: Start assembling your strategy step by step… Choose your first “action”

Step 4: Configure your action

Continue on assembling your strategy, you can view the current theoretical balance (“Actionable Tokens”) — edit the % distribution of funds if needed!

Step 5: Once you’re happy with your strategy, click the “Deploy Strategy” button

And just like that — your strategy is now deployed on the Yieldchain platform! You (And anyone else) can immediately access & deposit into it — and enjoy the new, improved yields! Is it really that easy?

Yes, it is! With Yieldchain, maximizing your yields is effortless — you don’t even have to create your own strategies, simply deposit into other vaults on the platform (Aka, strategies deployed by other users) and enjoy the increased yields with a literal click of a button.

Surely it has some limitations — What protocols are integrated?

Ha! Yieldchain not only allows you to assemble fully customizable yield plans — it allows you to do so on top of any protocol, pool, or asset that exists.

All that is needed is the website link of the pool/protocol — and 30 Seconds to 1 minute of your time! No code/technical knowledge is required at all. More details coming soon👀

Integrate any protocol & pool into Yieldchain within 1 minute! (Non-Technical)

Social Finance (SocialFI) — Seamlessly share & use yield plans

Ever wanted to earn safe, high yields like the giga-brain CT (Crypto Twitter) folks? Or maybe a family member/friend once asked you for help with investing in DeFi, and you had to settle them for a low-yielding option/unsafe option?

Social Finance (SocialFi) is a core part of the Yieldchain platform, any vault deployed on the platform is immediately accessible for anyone to use and benefit from, it includes details about the APY % (Annual Yield) being rewarded (Compared against the original pool’s yields), as well as details about the risk of the vault’s strategy.

You don’t have to assemble your OWN strategy

Yield plans can be a little intimidating — specifically if you’re new to the game. There are so many options and, if you don’t have a general idea of how you want your strategy to approximately look, it may get a bit confusing. And even if you are an intermediate user — there is always someone out there with a better strategy, Decentralized finance is an ever-evolving space with some of the greatest minds after all.

Instead of assembling your own strategy — you could browse the Yieldchain dashboard. You could find various different random yield opportunities, or — search for specific assets to filter out, which will only showcase vaults built on top of that asset. You could also sort the search results by the vaults’ annual yield, total-value-locked, and various other variables.

Conclusion

DeFi user experience, at its current state — is most certainly, fundamentally flawed.

Yieldchain, though — aims to indefinitely fix it, by empowering everyday individuals & giving them access to powerful infrastructure & no-code tooling built specifically for them — the end users, with their needs in mind.

Want to contribute?

Hit up @ofiryieldchain on Telegram/Twitter for any inquiries/for getting involved :)

Yieldchain Links & Resources

Website: yieldchain.io Docs: docs.yieldchain.io Twitter: twitter.com/yield_chain Telegram Group: t.me/yieldchain Discord: =discord.gg/uFGweYZCpB
