This will be a brief update.

PINT Network TLD pint.network was a convenient medium of dissemination in the first year, yet it is as centralized as a medium can be, and we won't be using it moving forward.

Beyond today, Dec 10, 2022, the TLD pint.network will cease to be a medium of PINT Network dissemination, as we relinquish its control to domain authorities. As defined in the genesis publication, the only true identifier of PINT Network spirit is the spirit address, and associated decentralized names. More details can be found within genesis publication.

As of now, the past publications have been replicated by Patron#1 and persisted on arweave, while further copies may also be created. Current copies are cataloged at https://mirror.xyz/0x04F264eCb7ea1411726236675E88F04DC6421164 and signed by the address 0x04F264eCb7ea1411726236675E88F04DC6421164, which is the ownership of Patron#1.

Better and improved forms of communication and the way forward will be published by Patron#1 and signed one way or another by their address 0x04F264eCb7ea1411726236675E88F04DC6421164.

Quoting from PINT Network: Self-dilemma

All things considered, The PINT Network Spirit, hereby declares its conciever, earlier recognized Patron#1, as its custodian and the sole orator and operator of all affairs of PINT Network, in their entirety. This grant may subsequently allow Patron#1 to construct initial governance and put the spirit inside it.

In light of above, Patron#1 can prove their patronage by proving the possession of PINT Network Spirit Address (0x591217DCB7F80d2898AEbf83De29Fcf9E603ACaa), until such time when they relinquish the possession to some mode of governance.

In the event of inaccessibility of archives of past texts and this text at archive.org and other sources, Patron#1 may reproduce the texts, and use the spirit address based provability mechanism or a derivative under the governance of such time to declare the reproduction as valid.

Note that these are still guidelines and being authored by Patron#1 themselves, they highlight principles and facts which form the baseline logical basis of provability and authorship around texts of PINT Network Spirit, but most of it is yet to be organized by Patron#1.

Verily DAO is our first proof of concept of a DIAO. This requires reading of the introduction of DIAO, to understand the principles that make it a potentially valuable subset of a DAO.

One centralized mode of human co-ordination that is aching to be liberated from slavery of spams and scams is marketplaces like carpooling, ride hailing, real estate etc. Verily DAO originates from DIAO principles, but was thought out as a primary layer of a disruption of certain case of monopolistic real estate marketplace catering to a developing market with already hyena-esque real estate industry, having been acquired by regional real estate whale of corporates and now scapegoats its common users by shoving agency listings down their throats, while pretending to provide "great value" in the shape of non-features such as indices and maps.

We all know how decentralized protocols by virtue of being open, deliver such value in a way that a two-year-old programmer can extract insights from the protocol and scaffold their own frontend.

Verily DAO is our first protocol-like proposal, if you are here for the first time or haven't read PINT Network: Genesis publication, we strongly advise you to read it and understand our purpose before continuing.

#Motive

Verily DAO is a root governance layer working as a convener for a certain form of independent networks. The form of these independent networks is identity-oriented, each with its own specific function involving constraints on provenance, localization and scale. However, they all need a verification layer to induct network actors. Verily DAO serves the purpose and sustains it through following:

1. Standardizing verification layer of network protocols

2. Provisioning co-ordination and sharing of information between like networks to their own will and by their independent mode of governance

3. Provisioning individual network actors across like networks in unison, to govern what provides for their needs fulfilled by the prior provisions.

4. Doing all above without hard dependency of platform and avoiding lock-in to a single base validation network.

#First Draft

VerilyLet: A Verily inspired network that has not initiated registration with Verily DAO, or has failed compliance.

VerilyNet: A Verily-compliant network.

1. Member-VerilyNet: Consents to membership i.e. enforces the right of its actors to participate in Verily DAO, thereby giving them the option to share their identity with Verily DAO.

2. Nonmember-VerilyNet: Does not consent to membership i.e. absolutely does not grant the right to its actors to participate in Verily DAO.

Formation of VerilyNet

• Verily DAO has a registry contract on supported platforms. This contract is responsible for production, compliance, identification, and registration of a VerilyNet.

• VerilyNet has an entry-point contract that implements standards from Verily DAO.

• Shared identities (from Member-VerilyNet) can act as valid persons in the Verily matters.

Member-VerilyNet Standard Provisions:

#Incentives

On notion of pan-network spam: Member VerilyNets identity holders can participate in trust scoring entire networks, so dubious networks can be banished.

This creates the concept of a sort of Verily Union, which brings together various groups of identified non-fake distinct people associated to blockchain addresses. And these people earn tokens that are used in:

1. Governance of Verily DAO in its function as maintainer of registries and all associated decentralized infrastructure.

2. Co-ordination of networks: Provision of inter-verification.

On note of tokenomics, we are constantly investigating incentive mechanisms at the edge of research; Observing and assessing various protocols and their independent community culture constantly expands our ability to build a model that we can inherit into functions and ventions of PINT Network.

Fundamentally and at core, the subject of Verily DAO are claims. It branches into a dependency on identity mechanisms, and for that we have to look into existing identity proof systems, which are themselves DIAO enablers. That enables arbitration, placing it in the league of Kleros DAO.

Subsequently, we will expand on each element of the DAO, as well as claims system. Verily DAO was first thought of in early days of PINT Network, and was held for evaluation as we explored the existing identity landscape and implementation challenges against our multichain goals, some solidity contract code was also written for registry during validation of dynamic factories, such will also be referenced as we test things out.

There's potential that we pursue Verily DAO as a vention and also that PINT Network's own governance joins it as a VerilyNet.

Even though our thought and concern on the matter already begun with the establishment of initial M.O of first invention, we started actively laying the problem space out after an active discussion on the matter of permissionless transparent frontends. There were differing views, however one take by @LefterisJp specifically struck some cords.

Another thing with a SaaS. You can't verify the code that runs there is the same as the one they publish even if it's opensource. In reality an opensource SaaS involves a huge amount of trust. Privacy? Forget that. No guarantees. We should teach users to use local software. ~ @LefterisJP at Twitter

On that note, our concern with experience inventions is both spiritual and functional UX: We uplift transparency, but also believe that ever inflating global bandwidth and hyper-connectivity has made generations a consumer of "browsers", otherwise thin clients mimicking the web app, with extreme momentum in favor of similar model in future i.e. if not browsers then browser-like containerized clients that house UX which connects to hosted services. We'll be publishing this concept separately going forward.

So while we believe in conditioning UX consumers to go local-first in their consumption, our method of such conditioning is to build and deliver using dominant delivery medium i.e. browsers, while also ensuring sustainable UX by using browser-based technologies; However, using non-conventional ways of data exchange between the UX and underlying data and processing sources, by giving anywhere from control to custody to the consumer, to the purpose of verifiability.

If our plausible future does not pan out, UX built on web-based technology is still a hedge as a larger designer / UX community is retained, and light frontends can be compiled as "executables" or in other words "desktop applications".

#Problem

Having identified the purpose of decentralized experiences, their delivery and the minimum scope of their implementation, we identify the core issues:

• Browsers VMs are slow, heavy, time-sensitive data processing cannot be placed into client.

• Business logic is not feasible in browser client, a lot of functionality need compute and memory resources out of browser bounds, which is also why such libraries are built for server-side environments.

#Solution space

The problem of powering up the browsers was addressed by WebAssembly which has made great strides over past years; However, it still has limitations and requires several considerations for any use case. WASM in-browser is subject to same restrictions on device resources, being a sandboxed runtime.

We'll cover WASM in better detail over subsequent publications relating to this case.

Our present understanding is that a uniform way of developing interfaces that involve compute and/or co-ordination by bringing it to most touchpoints i.e. browsers, desktops, browser extensions, is the most feasible way. One example of this is HNS nodes across all touchpoints; We are investigating this and all such projects to understand implementations in order to aid feasibility study of our ventions.

#Forthwith

PINT Network has covered some cases so far that came about from real problems. This one is no different, however by the virtue of it being in light of our own vention, the solution space hopes to inspire the vention to achieve its own purpose: That is the purpose of our case publications, and through this one, we'll demonstrate it, which is in the spirit of PINT Network; A purpose to not only produce truly decentralized experiences, but also demonstrate a transparent way of producing them.

While looking at his holdings with a tilted head, Patron#1 has realized a potential to save some value for the poverty-struck sub-community of crypto from getting rekt as the market peaks (and subsequently corrects). In case of many small investors that entered earlier this year, it was easy to buy small amounts, and history is witness to the fact, that relatively small amount of tokens after gas expenditure, cost more to sell than their worth.

Everyone wants to extract as much upside as possible, however there is a colloquial saying that covers this case i.e. "left holding bags"; Obviously that means one didn't sell when there was a chance to profit or cut losses, but for small investor, the cost of selling (gas) plays into it, given most tokens are on ethereum chain while most liquidity and exchange mechanisms on mainnet as of now, however that is going to change, which is what enables our proposed solution as it follows.

#Motive

Every bull run, there are countless small investors that lose 100% of value on their holdings, despite a gain in market value on their initial investments. Even if they have the will to realize that gain, it's just not feasible to exit with profit due to exorbitant transaction fees. Combine these relatively trace amount of ERC-20 holding wallets, and we end up with numerous valuable tokens locked into many wallets. This token lock is not by a contract, but by fundamental prejudice.

#Story

Alice learned about CHAD token from twitter, and spent $70 worth of ETH 9 months back to get 140 CHAD tokens on ETH mainnet, the transaction costed $30 worth in gas that Alice is aware of. From Alice's perspective, she invested $100 and expects a 100x. CHAD went along with market, dipped and rose, Alice held onto it. 2 months back Alice checked holding value to be at $140, Alice thought, if not 100x, it can at least do a 10x. Alice was not aware that avg minimum gas price at the time was ~ $140 worth.

Now CHAD has gained over 10x for Alice's holding, standing at 12x on her initial investment, and Alice is advised by friend Bob to not be greedy and cash out. Alice's wallet shows a nice $1200 valuation on her holding.

Alice loads up her wallet with $30 worth of ETH and goes ahead with the transaction, but it fails. Alice asks Bob "wtf"? Bob finds out about her holdings and tells her that the gas cost is not the same as 9 months back, it varies and right now exceeds her CHAD holding's value; Alice is in shambles! But then Bob tells her that there is a way that didn't exist in last bull market when Bob was left holding some bags due to ridiculously high gas as market peaked.

Bob tells Alice that with Scraps DAO, Alice can spend $200 worth of ETH to send CHAD tokens to Scraps DAO, and gain back a reasonable worth of her holding after some time. Bob tells Alice to do her own research. Alice further learns from Scraps DAO friendly guide that she can send 140 CHAD to DAO's CHAD vault, to which a lot of other CHAD holders are evidently contributing.

Alice also learns that Scraps DAO without any third party interference, takes desired exit value from all contributors along with their token transfer. Watching optimal market conditions, total value in vault, and desirable exit values, it executes bulk sales from the vault over time. Since a larger value is sold, the costs of bulk sales are highly minimized per contributor. The value shares are then distributed through ETH or a stablecoin on what is commonly called an L2 chain, which Alice needs to learn about. Alice realizes that through this process of Scraps DAO, she can make a return of at least several multiples of her initial investment, rather than absolute loss.

#Solution (early)

The solution of pooling assets to mitigate gas costs is not entirely novel. We know of at least one protocol that offers such a value, however that is built around other use cases within the protocol and cannot adapt to that of investors like Alice.

However, since Scraps DAO is for a very specific problem, it is likely not going to benefit an average investor trying to save on gas cost, because it requires compromise on timing of exit, and therefore potential of lower return value than desired market value exit.

The solution should be found around contracts under contribution and return.

• The deposit call has to be free from complexity, which means assessment of the asset being deposited is a client function.

• Each deposit may come with a minimal cost in ETH. This may enable contribution to later bulk gas expenditure.

• Bulk sales are done in exchange for stablecoins.

• Simple form of return is a withdrawal called by user, with the assumption that gas costs reduce at some point in future to make the entire engagement profitable.

We may be following up on this with a proposal-like, however, Scraps DAO was conceived over a month prior, and due to our prioritization of long-term ventions, we may not be able to work towards a timely implementation as the investor exit opportunities are thinning out; Even though this is a solution that should have existed last year.

Right off the bat, you may notice that we are now using the word "Vention" instead of "Invention". This was a decision made after realization of Patron#1 during a conversation, that the word has a connotation that is entirely counter to what PINT Network is purposed to be. We are sensitive to vocabulary for very crucial reasons, and this is evident from past publications. We cannot favor common words like "Creation" or "Product" for the same reasons. Therefore, what we have defined in PINT Elements as Invention, will now be formally called a Vention, and labelled as PINTvention for common use.

Let us now introduce the self-identity of the first PINTvention.

#Glove - the UX

Glove is launched as a demo UI for early testers, and a presentation of its commitment towards clearly defined goals.

#State of engineering

Glove is ground-up released by the prior engineering M.O., on defined principles. Following are facts defining the current state of Glove.

• UI is Web-based built with an MIT licensed view library, VueJS.

• Codebase is licensed as AGPL-3.0 and open-sourced.

• Code is not well-structured, and not really modular.

• UI is hosted on Skynet @ siasky.net.

The codebase was made available on radicle (radicle.xyz) with Patron#1 as maintainer, however after testing it out, our impression is that at present, it is more collaboration-centric where there are enough peers actively working on the codebase. Therefore, we made the decision of temporarily co-hosting on GitHub for availability.

#Near future

UI was built by Patron#1 through 2021, initiated well before PINT Network was conceived, and VueJS was favored given existing expertise. However, it will likely be ported to Svelte, because of the library's simplicity that is in-line with our principles. This will also be demonstrative, like we want everything to be, to set examples for not only newer development teams, but also for those willing to convert from closed ways to open ways of building and sustaining software.

From now on, we can refer Glove with its name, and hand over the communication to its own aid. With more and more launches, PINT Network can evolve to smooth out this process of spirited product development. We do understand that excessive involvement of PINT Network in its name is anti-purpose, as it complicates the community development of the vention itself. Therefore, as we proceed to make progress, the ongoing role of PINT Network with its ventions, has to be further defined clearly, in context of its elements.

PINT Network introductory publication is a compact form of a lot of complex issues and state of affairs. As we go along, those ideas will be opened up in layers and some sense will be established to proceed into developing concrete processes around proposals.

Quoting introductory publication of PINT Network, on "First Invention":

"Convenience" of fact discovery and provability, particularly of assets, on decentralized public networks is now destined to be one and the same as oxygen, as it is known to man on ground atmosphere: Naturally verifiable, freely consumable, with common liberty!

Unless you want to synthetically isolate, compress and transport it for an endeavor like that of a space mission; Then it costs, which is a reasonably acceptable effort-inducing and thence profit-oriented avenue. However, who should ultimately decide what is compressed oxygen and what is not? Permissionless co-ordination of actors for interpretation.

Staying metaphorical for a moment to elaborate: If we have rationalized the compression of oxygen as an "effort-inducing" and thence "profit-oriented" endeavor, it may be delivered in a different form compared to free form, yet it's the same contents, however the delivery is specialized; We gave example of space mission which is a hyper growth endeavor, however it can also be something life-saving such as in case of rescue operations within localized toxic environments, or in aid for the damaged natural organs of the living, or for any physical process that requires high pressure oxygen for value creation in purpose of enabling sustenance.

#The problem origin

Challenge: Consider we invent experiences that are delivered transparently: To put simply in example, as a browser or desktop based application that by default, interacts with only those interfaces that are also transparent, for example an interface delivered in source of compiled programming language with instructions for compilation and execution using tools that are themselves of same nature; The experience being our metaphorical oxygen, if some person(s) finds a gap in consumption, that can be only be filled with compressed oxygen, how do they fill this gap by same principles as the delivery of free form oxygen while ensuring their efforts, and efforts of other people involved, bear profit beyond cost of compression? For it cannot be expected of any given person(s) to absolutely sacrifice in the same way as the initiators of PINT Network.

Note: Why we are not yet giving a non-metaphorical example of compressed oxygen, is because we do not want to set any precedent idea of beyond primary purpose use cases of our inventions; To keep the desired ripple effect unadulterated.

The solution may be found in non-absoluteness in redistribution of PINT inventions; And that brings us to DIAO, making distribution a matter of merit, in the hands of merit; If you are not aware of DIAO, you will have to jump to the topic for better understanding of what follows; It's a novel concept and cannot yet be summarized in a sentence, as nothing so far is published as formal research from PINT Network.

Today, PINT Network has claimed ~ 48.77 ENS tokens with transaction# 0x913d4a990563fced0c1e829c525750822e05295a22d738204c6d3805d6f289dd on ETH mainnet. Patron#1 discovered the claimable tokens on Nov 20. This is weirdly remarkable in a way that this retroactive drop of ENS governance tokens, comes from the very on-chain identity of PINT Network, pintnetwork.eth, which was acquired on Oct 14, meeting the ENS criteria by just enough days, where PINT Network spirit was conceived for the very purpose of decentralizing authority and thereby for public good.

While ENS team probably has no clue of PINT Network, yet by the principles of decentralization, they have spread out goodness. How this benefits PINT Network is that the claimed tokens are in a sizeable value in context of airdrops, and for that matter, decent value for PINT Network which is only supported by sweat to boot, and barely any financial funding from the poor Patron#1.

We are already working on some conception of funding the first invention and overall activities of PINT Network. Presently, in infancy, we are not structured to remunerate the efforts; However as we have in past discussed the competitive aspect of the network, financing is a need, but, to be carried out by principles, and therefore, institutional fiat funding is not to be favored.

For now, we'll hold the ENS tokens with the intent of value appreciation. We state this transparently because at this time we are not very aware on how voting for matters of ENS is better aligned to the purpose of PINT Network spirit than funding its natively purposed elements, neither can we afford gas.

This however has given us an important avenue to think about i.e. maintaining governance tokens as part of future structure of governance formed under PINT Network, and thereby pooling tokens and creating a representative mode of outside governance, in simpler words a "lobby" but that is a terminology we do not yet favor using much in our context, just like we do not favor the terminology of "law" and "rules", and instead labeled the guiding corpus of PINT Network as "Texts". In this age, words come with greater consequences than ever, as vocabularies are carefully associated to perceptions by powerful forces, and make up mental models of the present and future.

Over recent past, there were attempts to bring AI to DAOs. Perhaps some minds have pondered on this: If centralized autonomous organizations have amassed so much control before the advent of artificial intelligence (now dubbed synthetic), all with pen and paper and natural human chatter; Why is it that in this space, we are not raising chatter on the idea of human intelligence on-chain as a primary instrument.

Indeed, it may post technical limitations, perhaps slow down processes initially, but there has always been technical limitations, until they weren't anymore, because there was drive and motive to overcome them (Bitcoin -> Colored Coins -> Ethereum), regardless if it's progress or regress.

Here we attempt to establish the traits of DIAO, as some form of an overlapping set to what we know as a DAO, as to what kind of overlap, the community may decide for itself.

DIAO (da-yao) is not only specifically intelligent, it also pronounces AI backwards. That's symbolic because DIAO is built on real intelligence, and any synthetically intelligent processes involved, are a supplement to work done by real actors. "DAO" without "I" may not be stupid, but it is certainly not intelligent, if it was, we'd not see the same kind of exploits repeated in every other instance. In contrast, how often do highly sophisticated traditional enterprises, for example, military, rugs its stakeholders? Quite evidently for majority, not every other month.

Moving on from symbolism, A DIAO places intelligent autonomy over mere autonomy. It also defies conventions, and seeks the most promising transparent technology for provability at all times, and migrates without giving migraines. In present time, public blockchains are the candidates, but not any single one in particular, which makes any given instance of a DIAO in near future, a chain-agnostic entity.

Further, breaking down the Intelligence that we place into a DIAO into concrete concepts:

• Actions are only provably total, if associated to actors that are further associated to provable prior trace of nature be it social, financial, or anything traditionally human attributable, but at any point, not necessarily absolute of a human attribution.

That's it.

#Does a DIAO deny rights of Robots?

As we know robots today, their rights are denied only if they are conducting transactions in their own identity, and not on behalf of their human handlers. If robots evolve to nature, or nature evolves to robots, the lines of intelligence get fuzzy, but DIAO has good chances of surviving as it is adaptable. That's why, no, DIAO is not in an absolute denial on robot rights.

Notably, such ‘tools’ could ultimately become so causally removed from their human-based initiation—or humans may become so causally-neutral—that there could be a point at which they rightly be considered autonomous agents. e.g. contracts may offer bounties to humans for being sent transactions to initiate their execution. ~ Gavin Wood in Ethereum Yellow Paper, on EOA custodians

#Conversion of a DAO to DIAO

Most DAOs can convert to DIAOs, but those that are truly decentralized, can make the transition relatively easy.

#Foreword on people organization

A ground-up wholly decentralized mode of conduct is extremely difficult in present state of civilizations. Firstly, gathering supposedly a group of million people together cannot be done instantaneously for any given cause of value, unless it is for vanity, people will always trickle, in singles, couples, groups, at any point, there can and will be a significant bias.

Someone or Sometwo, some single digit number of people have to lay a structure of organizing meta processes including the shortest, most sustainable ones for self-improvement of process specifications. This can only be executed in best of spirit and self-accountability of persons that are delegated control in early times.

Patron#1 wishes there was another feasible way that has proven to work in the past, but there isn't. As we proceed, there will be structures built on informed assumptions, with a consideration of as soon as feasible and competitively possible, re-organization. As explained in introductory publication.

PINT Network is purposed to be transparent, yet that doesn't mean it is not competing. It will compete by humanizing decentralization, the potential of which is so far locked behind branding of grandiosity and complexity. PINT is all about units, a conceivable, relatable idea.

Following are early guidelines to work towards the purpose of PINT Network.

#Definitions

• On-chain: Attribution of something to provenance on a distributed, decentralized ledger, accessible and verifiable by any person. Public or private unto context of use.

#Elements

• Texts: Body of natural language compositions that form guidelines of conduct for network, traditional systems label these as constitution, laws and regulations; At present, PINT Network does not use those nouns as neither define the Texts as a whole. Attempts will be made to regularize matters within Texts in form of specifications and subsequently implementation of processes on-chain.

• Personage: Permissionless identification of an entity through on-chain verifiable links to its publicly claimable activities. A Personage is the smallest unit of PINT Network, represented as an asset on-chain.

• Patronage: A status granted to, or taken away from Personage, identified as PINT Patron#{SERIAL_NUMBER}. Always replaced if removed in singular, while inducted at any given point in even numbers, to maintain a total odd count.

  Eligibility may be with decentralized proof of following but not yet limited to i.e. the activity must be linked and verified to on-chain identity.

  • Financially funding the Network objectives

  • Doing any kind of laborious work for the Network

• Milestone: A verifiable event occurring universally that meets all conditions defined and grouped on-chain in past by the Personage. On realization of milestone, the group-of-conditions is linked with proof-of-event on-chain.

• Invention: A body of work carried out by the Patrons along with associated Persons, as a follow-up to realization of group-of-conditions on-chain, resulting in realization of Milestones that cover all group-of-conditions attributed together in the past.

• Referendum: A vote where all Persons of Personage have the right to exercise vote.

• Patronage Vote: A vote where all Patrons have the right to exercise vote.

• Defection Vote: A vote called for defecting one or more distinct persons. All persons of the Personage have the right to cast vote except those included for defection.

• Consensus: A state reached by a vote when at least three quarters of the eligible voters have exercised the vote.

Following came about from @bantg drawing out a lesson from another Cream Finance exploit worth ~$130m; However the origin is from Patron#1's long-existing thoughts on compiling information related to rugs in a community-oriented manner. Recently, we've also publicly called for discourse on such provisions through open on-chain call (eth:13468000#162) to decentralized security community, however to not a single approach despite increase in traffic, which tells two things, one, PINT Network is early in its endeavor and as expected, will not attract quality minds for quite a while, second, community is comfortable in slavery and market euphoria, therefore, we have a lot of hard and thankless work to do to liberate them.

#Problem

Decentralized space has been in a vicious loop of protocol exploits, with its legos nature, one protocol plugs into another, another into another, and we have a full circle of dependencies holding lots of monetary value. Unfortunately as we have discussed prior, most of these protocols are tied up into VCs and corrupted in their functions, not only technologically, but also in service level by selling trust in a trust-less economy, thereby such contradiction leaving that full circle rife for increasingly brazen exploitation.

Moreover, after an exploit causes loss, the script flips and the general course of corrupt systems follows i.e. if the founders have clout (enough VC backing), they go on to mask the exploit with their "marketing" budget and keep going, until they get exploited again, CREAM finance being a classic example; On the other hand, those without clout, get tainted for years to come, especially if they had made enemies; It's very easy to spin CT propaganda. Certain of these have not even bothered fixing the issues even after being exposed in advance and getting exploited. This is also made easy due to the greed in market, and the possibility that more new investors are pouring in all the time.

Let us switch to the tone of topic: Given the facts, we have searched and found no grail that takes facts of the exploits, public analyses by the security community, their extracts, and in an open manner, makes the lessons public in an easily accessible manner. Just like traditional systems, this leaves security aspects of building decentralized solutions, in the knowledge of few actors, thereby centralizing a core function of monetary protocols i.e. derisking without prejudice. These entities are mainly independent security researchers, enthusiasts and centralized audit companies. If such centralization was beneficial, we would not have the flux and velocity of exploitation loop increasing in magnitudes relative to total value locked.

Presently existing data is a scatter in a way that analyses have to be discovered on individual publications. The traces of transactions involving exploits have to be searched on centralized trust-based 3rd parties like etherscan. The lessons have to be learned through searching for obscure websites containing development hacks, or searching for twitter threads. People, stakeholders, institutional investors and audit companies involved have to be searched from archives of the official websites or reaching out and trusting the people involved.

#Motive

By tagging the facts and actors, signing the analyses publications, past audits, and drawing out lessons, within a decentralized experience, we produce a corpus of verifiable intelligence, from which discourse and learning material can be extracted with relative ease, thereby publicly identifying repeating issues, and repeat offenders without prejudice, instead of just scapegoating engineers, destroying their careers thereby penalizing non-anonimity, then rinsing and repeating. The system can be further extended to enable other aspects of forensics.

#Solution-space early phase

Following are pointers to establish a rough solution space; They may be components of a Forensics DAO by contracts and by supported transparent, trust-less, open and highly available services:

• Exploitative transactions and involved actors are tagged through verifiable integrations with open trust-less chain discovery systems. Builders of discovery solutions are incentivized to aid such specialized forensics integrations.

• Tools that enable and incentivize interconnection of actors associated with the exploit, entities associated with the exploited technology, the associated protocol or project, the associated institutional investors, the associated auditors and other key associations.

• Tools that present the above in an analysis friendly manner.

• Systems that enable provision of certain level of above transparency, near instantaneously following a suspected exploitative activity on-chain.

• Analysts are incentivized to primarily publish on permaweb, tools may be designed to attract them and make the transition easy and fun, along with provision of integrations with above designed tools.

• Identified security actors are incentivized to conjecture on analyses and lessons learned.

• All the data created is collectively made part of permaweb, and indexed across key factors.

This is a very early work, PINT Network will follow up on concrete steps towards Forensics DAO, we truly believe there is a vacuum to be filled with such provisions. #Alpha: in contrast to team's report

The chronology indicates following:

• Alpha was finishing Grade 6 in summer 2014, was competing in programming contest from Grade 12 team in summer 2017, same year was enrolled in university, and already done with master's by end of 2020, likely through accelerated program, accelerated enough to be under four years, indicating Alpha jumped Grade 9 through 11 i.e. squeezed high school into a single year.

• The specific naming of github project could be convention of the contest, or just normal brain function of Alpha or it could be that coders don't prefer including superscripts in repo name, or placing numbers in lead, as Grade followed by 12 followed by Project is a hierarchical categorization.

• Alpha very likely conducted entire academics in Canada, their mention of the EU indicates they have active ties to people in the EU who they received the said information from.

#Hypotheses

We codename unison of profilings as:

1. BJC: Bravo, JohnDoe and Chad

2. JC: JohnDoe and Chad

With clarity of time and further intelligence, we place higher probability on one of the following scenarios:

1. Either BJC or JC are Based. They have established a diversion for case followers to lead them to Alpha, carefully over the months leading to the exploit. Also painting Alpha as an anti-semite, neo-nazi, anti-african-american, 4chan inspired character, using the code, the eth address, communication with the team in weeks leading in and out from the exploit. Using twitter, further incited the victims with reinforcing the same characterization, while taking the input from trolls and repeating the ideas with articulation.

2. One of the above is the handler of Alpha and is using directives to have Alpha conduct the exploit, which makes Alpha complicit in the act, but not prime suspect.

Evidence linked to Alpha face suggests they be mentally unfit, and after all the controversy and DOX, they might even wrongly confess when approached. However, following, we pronounce the null scenario group as well, but place least probability on it:

1. Neither BJC nor JC exists. Their constituting profiles have co-incidentally co-existed, co-worked and co-acted out with behavioral traces of Alpha and relevancy to Based, Indexed Finance, as well as Alpha over the last 6 years upto to proximity of hours leading to and away from the exploit. While Alpha is further in on the spectrum, gaining the acceptance in Disneyland as a genius and is confident that they are untouchable.

In any scenario, the M.O of a passionate perpetrator is carrying out their mission as a craft which involves hints to their passion. We have identified four such long-existing verbal cues that are carefully crafted in irony, and lead to our most likely scenarios.

Sociology plug: If Alpha is the sole perpetrator by an off-chance, their black hat was handed to them by a centralized academic system; Jumping the hoops so fast caused delusional personality and a severe case of Dunning-Kruger. Instead of throwing their youth into college, handing Alpha an honorary PhD in 6th grade and putting them to work would have avoided construction of such abnormality resulting from years of artificial competition. All the evidence relates to not exceptional ability but enough time to zone into obsessions, because their subculture artificially pushed them to over-optimization and incentivized madness while disincentivizing a constructive social life and productive civic learnings.

Lastly there is derivative evidence of mtheorylord1 github that through recent private conversations and ethereum addresses linking to age-old transactions, circle to IRL person whom we call Alpha Face. We have lumped this derivative evidence as diversion that is Chad, on the other hand, zoning into these strengthens the case against Alpha Face, which is also by first principles the desired effect of a diversion, and results in things such as escalation with involvement of 3rd parties jumping to conclusions.

Practically, the traditional implementation of the justice system is not only broken in and of itself, but applied to the decentralized space, it is incompatible. Other actors have also reported that no kind of DOX and tip to traditional law enforcement and intelligence gets the actual perpetrators to traditional forms of justice. Perhaps, unless there is enough money involved for lawyers?

Decentralized Anything is the free-est construct there is, which is also what allowed the indexed finance team to dig in and release information as they saw fit. Their results, commendably so, are distinct and may be exciting to the community, yet need condemnation on certain acts. Instead of flipping posture and going independent on damage control, appreciating discourse on innovation, accountability and loss owned by the community is the only way to bootstrap the parallel systems without jeopardizing their spirit.

So what is the way forward? Crypto sub-community concerned with security side of things, should come together and work on mechanisms to document all such events in detail, secure them permanently, and build systems to aid open forensics through incentives, contrary to closed forensics by traditional legal professionals banking on loopholes in laws produced by kingmakers. Incentivize the community to counter exploitation, with the goal to shift some risk from investors to the would-be exploiters. Just throwing protocols out there with marketing is not the way forward, centralized audits have time and time again proven to be ineffective; We reckon they instead help the exploiters in their works.

The flaming of investors is justified given loss, harsh reactions against the team are also justified given the state of DeFi. Code, law, money, incentive, rule of intent or algorithm, middlemen enabling or disabling protocols? Is code law? Is law code? Is law law? All are fair topics that need careful attention, and discourse by builders across the space, and not just founders of "blue chip" projects. Neglect will lead to in-fighting.

So far, vision and some notion of structure has been laid out, but alongside known concerns. PINT Network being a mere spirit, is going through the same process of all spirits that seek some form of abode in governance. In light of recent Indexed Finance exploit, and even brighter light of the engineer (allegedly sole dev of exploited code) owning up his aged process in producing the exploited code, the plausible social handle of Patron#1 expressed his opinion on the spectacle, and constructed a mental model immediately thereafter while addressing the call of nature.

Since then, we have worked on the conception of an on-chain, transparent accountability method to elevate from invisibility, the cognitive processes and concerns of individual engineers within teams building solutions around smart contracts.

Note: Following conception is limited to persons that launch any part of their creation for consumption on-chain.

For novice readers, we must first lay out the typical team and organizing structures in the public eye, by somewhat stereotyping them.

• Completely anonymous persons: no active digital presence except attribution to certain projects

Alice, Bob and Chad are all pseudo-anonymous persons. They have united their brilliant minds to build a protocol on Ethereum and eventually multi-chain, which will pool user's fund and multiply their usual gains by a significant factor. Alice, commonly agreed to be the head honcho, takes input from the lead engineer Chad, and goes out with branding, markets the hell out of their novel mechanisms in as obfuscate language as possible to not compromise the IP pre-launch. Thousands start pouring into the telegram and twitter follower count skyrockets.

Bob being a regular reader of crypto research content, exploits, limitations, reader of rekt.news and pint.network, raises the concerns with pooling as visioned by the team i.e. so much liquidity from public stakeholders in a novel protocol. Bob understands holding liquidity better than anyone, because of all the money he has received from Alice in the past. It's not just Chad that will build the protocol, Bob can code too, so can Alice, and they all will have to contribute significantly given their engineering background, as they do not favor raising institutional capital, while Bob has pledged not to invest his personal financial capital.

So Bob digs the web, lands on a very early publication by PINT Network, proposing a solution-like that works on following core principles:

All team members, to gain a competitive advantage, by virtue of decentralized social responsibility, are in their own identities, bound to a public contract which demands following:

• All smart contracts and any future manifestations of the same, deployed by the team in relation to collective identity of the contracts, are provable by this contract, to be the same as registered by final consensus of particular deployments.

• The provability of final consensus, is co-provable to individual testimonies of team members. These may be in nature of time-proof comments on the subject of consensus.

However, with an aim to grow into performing relevant advocacy and other productive activity in careful conjunctions such as working groups, and to collaborate, and eternally re-organize under, and mobilize more and more people.

Also, important to mention, PINT Network is not a foundation nor foundation-like, because, prior to any potential foundation, it is already conceived as a network. It may however produce functions that are conventionally denoted to foundations.

Crucial to present the spirit of PINT, follows introduction of the human who conceived it, now onwards identified as PINT Patron#1:

A singular, self-proclaimed thought leader, and the craft-man of early PINT Network inventions is financially perpetually-broke, never institutionally employed natural person, with no pre-dominant industry, institutional or prominent organization linkages; No history nor present of controlling stake in any notably successful centralized commercial ventures; No history nor present of fundraising, inclusive of debt, for any cause, not from family, friends, banks, government grants, industry grants or absolutely any persons other than self; But an owner of a cache of survival experiences over a time-persistent state of non-equitable global socio-economic liberties; An adopter of Bitcoin since early days in purpose of P2P money transfer against legal economic activity, as a no-other-option refuge from incapacitated traditional financial system under geopolitical realities of times past.

Now shall the can of honey be opened, followed by the can of worms.

#First Invention
Convenience of provable fact discovery, particularly of assets within decentralized networks, is now destined to be same as oxygen, as it's consumable by diverse life from depths of ocean to the ceiling of troposphere: Naturally verifiable, freely consumable, with common liberty!

Unless you want to synthetically isolate, compress and transport it for an endeavor like that of a space mission; Then it costs, which is a reasonably acceptable effort-inducing and profit-oriented avenue. However, who should ultimately decide what is compressed oxygen and what is not? Permissionless co-ordination of actors for interpretation.

Open protocols and libraries, with technical interfaces, are a step in the right direction, but not a closure. Closing human-centric interfaces for profits (income beyond expenses), as a trust-first copy-protected interface, dependent on enforced broker APIs of closed-source unverifiable systems, be it in guise of free services, is violation of decentralization spirit.

The founding invention of PINT Network is an experience purposed to be fully transparent, conveniently verifiable, discovery and management interface for on-chain assets, which by the principles of PINT Network, permanently puts transparency-feedback-UX loop first, and iterates over and over, to its ultimate purpose.

#Present challenges and way forward
With vision and early ideation of the way to realize purpose laid out, it is pertinent to say that, developer experience in decentralization space is aching, while traction is towards centralized solutions that leverage novelty of the industry to raise institutional capital, eventually followed by hyped community raise and claim decentralization. The incentives to engineers (a scarce resource) are not yet aligned to enable a better balanced user experience within spirit of decentralization.

Recent initiatives of DAO enabled advocacy are brewing up, meanwhile some limited actors are working along part of aforementioned ideas, in obviously inhibited capacity relative to arguably inflated, institutional-fiat funded, conventionally proprietary and unverifiable closed-source interfaces, owned by centralized bodies A.K.A. high-growth startups; Delivering a perception of superior functional UX by virtue of deficit-powered branding, sizeable remuneration and promise of clout and equity to experienced designers and perception engineers A.K.A. marketeers, of course while completely annihilating spiritual UX and thence collective spirit of productive and sustainable decentralization.

By first principles, competing with and exceeding service level of such closed systems, is possible because they fundamentally have a divide in incentivizing powerful investors vs incentivizing deleveraged consumers due to legal contracts of greed. Thence, realization of spirit of decentralization is inevitable; PINT Network just contributes in speeding it up, although kick-starting it will demand personal sacrifices on part of early contributors.

However, it is important to distinctly state that PINT Network is not absolutely against commercialization and revenue generation, instead, in aggressive pursuit of redirection of wealth of means that concern all civilizations, towards co-ordination of more natural persons than conducted in immediately prior point in time. This may raise other philosophical questions on what's the reasonable slow-down-and-stop step to this recursion of decentralization, which can only fruitfully be pondered on with co-ordination.

One can only see so far, many may see a bit further, but all together may see everyone to madness.

#On further communication
Having said "transparency" in so many words, people who have been in "crypto space" are aware of the actors that beat the "principles" drum to community more than they can afford to follow the drumming up with actual parade; It's not that they are not self-aware, but that they are a radical product of perception economy.

On the contrary, common people, which are now a significant part of user space, want painless utility, and fun while they are at it. PINT Network is on a mission to counter the pre-dominant exploitation of that natural indifference of consumers towards their consumption (in times of consumption race), by reviving the experience backed by principles of liberty to be at par with and beyond that which is offered by dominant interfaces backed by principles of covert slavery.

Therefore, subsequent public articles on PINT invention's progress will not be rife with philosophical talk, but easy, understandable communication of value creation and its delivery. Only after making the creations minimally useful, will the provability of transparency aspects communicated as a supplement to the functional UX.

However, any publications on PINT Network itself, will be in its spirit and quite philosophical, as it structures towards an authority and subsequently a conception of governance, through which it also aims to set a precedent of a transparent, likely novel, governance formation process. Soon as the First Invention is given a name and presence, the communication on it will be segregated.
