well according to google its like 2 million years. wasnt expecting such a high number. its been some time since i last read about the origin of humankind. but i do remember some things from my time studying the past. not gonna go too deep on anthropological considerations that will bore you to help. just gonna highlight 2 things. or maybe 3. to be honest, i dont even know what are the things ill highlight. im thinking about it on the go. guess the best way to come up with something is just setting up 2 bullet points, maybe 3.

i had a dinner, i had. it was like 4 years ago. about 10 people summoned around melted cheese on top of a pizza. one of them, who i barely knew, caught me up with this thought that still runs through my head.

he said he had never met anyone who used a blockchain without expecting to leave that blockchain with more money than he put in. think it this way. you go to the cinema. you take 100 bucks with you. and you know you'll get back home with less money. you will spend some of that money, and you'll be happy. you go to dinner, same case. vacation, same case. football game, idem.

no one, however, goes to a blockchain with 100 bucks expecting to leave it with less than that, and still be happy. you can shitcoin your life away, of course, but you'll certainly wont be happy.

is that gonna be farcaster? not so sure. still see too many people are in for the cash. but we are having a lot of fun. and yes, it might be the case that we expect millions of dollars to magically appear on our wallets, either because there's an airdrop, or we buy the next degen, or degen itself goes to 100 bucks. but if that's not the case, and i lose all the money i've put into channels, degen, nfts and random interactions on this new onchain society, ill still be happy.

im finally settling down to write again, sunday morning in the south hemisphere of the world. or maybe the north hemisphere, depending on where you are looking from. for better or for worse reality can be fixed to a single definition. reality, unlike blockhains, cant be consensed upon. reality is a living creature that breathes in and out every second, expelling thousands of millions of hundreds of parallel universes that are paradoxically enough interconnected.

in some of those universes dinosaurs are still alive. in some others dinosaurs enslave human race. in some other technology enlsaves human race, which in turn enslave dinosaurs. i wont delve into cheap sci-fi considerations, fear not. but what if….

we are long human race because we believe this is the best possible world we live in. and we trust this will continue to be the case

according to Spinoza’s pantheism god is not the creator of the world but the world is a part of god. Spinoza reached this conclusion following on a series of logical arguments upon which he intended to prove, a little bit ‘a la Descartes’, that there is not but one substance. so we we talk about Spinoza’s god we dont talk about old dudes with long white beards nor we refer to messiahs or profets or missionaries.

Libniz idea of the best possible world is a derivation of his theodicy, his work to accommodate for suffering and pain in a world that for centuries was claimed to have been created by a perfect, all good and all mighty god that looks on us. this paradox, known as the problem of evil, still troubles theologist and believers in all corners of planet earth.

Leibniz intuition, however, is quite simple. the world, with all its suffering and sorrow, is still the best we can ever get, for that god knows that the suffering and sorrow and pain, ohh the pain, are necessary conditions. and a world without the evils that apparently god can not impede would not be as good as this world, for it is the darkness of the rain that makes the light of the sunday morning sun shine so bright.

we have no idea what is the real truth of this world, but we choose to believe that humans are the best that they could be, not for what they do or did, but for what is to come.

we are long human race because we believe we are building the best possible world we can live in.

should it be eggs? should it be capsules? should it be just points? there are 2 ways in which we can tackle this challenge. first option is to play the clown and pretend it does make a difference. option number 2 is just riding along, picking whatever our guts mandate and assimilating randomness.

think about it for a second. how many if i had / if i hadn’t can you recall in your life. where would you be now if it wasn’t for that person you met a few years ago by pure coincidence? let’s put it this way. say your life is a discrete series of instant. each instant lasting 12 seconds (pun intended). and your reality is a state machine updated by every instant. deciding on eggs in instant 10 will modify forever the content of all other instants following, whether you like it or not. but not only it will immensely change your future, it will do so in unpredictable ways.

what’s gonna be the real difference between eggs and capsules? how is it possible to even believe there’s a right choice when we are absolutely unaware of the results of our decisions. im not even bringing along deterministic ideas, which would make this whole 3 am piece of writing completely irrelevant.

i think we both know the answer to our current dilemma. you and i, from the beginning of the special bond that ties us from now and forever, know what we are gonna do. think about it yourself. how do you think i will decide on eggs and capsules?

i think we also know what’s gonna be de answer. i can’t explain why. and maybe thats exactly what i need to look for. just acknowledging that not only it’s not gonna make that big difference, but also that the answer is already there within me, and you, me dearest friend. because you know the truth lies in eggs, and so shall be done.
