Optimism现已上线

Optimistic Ethereum 用户现在可以使用最快、最便宜和更安全的 L2 到 L1 桥将资金从 Optimism 桥接回 L1 以太坊。

Distributed: The idea of blockchain is to replace centralized networks controlled by third-party middlemen with decentralized peer-to-peer networks that can work more efficiently and fairly.

Open Source: Most protocols are open source, which means anyone can see how they are built and how they will work. In addition, all transactions on the blockchain are visible to anyone and therefore completely transparent.

Permissionless: Anyone is free to participate in any application or protocol without meeting arbitrary requirements of the platform or other gatekeeper setup.

Anti-censorship: Because the web is distributed and open source, there is no central authority to oversee it, no single point of failure, and it is impossible for anyone to change, censor or shut down content to be distributed.

Positive-sum: Because networks are open source and license-free, anyone can build on top of other projects, creating compound network effects. Composability encourages collaboration rather than competition, resulting in more value and faster innovation cycles. In addition, because users can become co-owners of applications and protocols through tokens, there is no value extraction dynamic and the interests of the builder and the user are aligned.

Ownership readiness: Thanks to tokens and the public ledger itself, Web3 grants provable ownership of any digital asset, incentivize participation and network effects.

Web3 challenge

The values that build web3 are why so many people have entered the space, attracted by a new technology that is reshaping the way we work, create, and collaborate. In this frenzy, the blockchain ecosystem has been growing at a phenomenal rate, with the number of blockchains -- layer 1, Layer 2, and all the other aggregation and scaling solutions -- springing up over the past two years. Each has a unique architecture and functionality that can meet different needs and solve various challenges. This is why most Web3 users operate on multiple chains and work with different coins, wallets, and applications in the DeFi, NFT, and DAO domains.

Unfortunately, the blockchain ecosystem of applications and protocols can be difficult to navigate. Multi-chain architectures only add to this complexity, forcing users to perform simple tasks through various DEX, Bridges, and other infrastructures. These are just some of the challenges that users need to overcome when interacting with their favorite Dapps:

Wallet(S) : Because there are multiple chains and often multiple wallets on each chain, the user needs to understand which Wallet to create, how each Wallet works (for example, how to add different networks or tokens to the Wallet interface), manage multiple private and public key pairs, money Wallet transfers tokens from a centralized exchange (CEX).

Intermediate step: Basic interaction with the dApp requires creating a CEX account (on Binance, Coinbase, FTX, or others) and using a credit card or bank account to purchase cryptocurrency; Create a wallet on the target chain (MetaMask, Phantom, or others) Transfer money from CEX to wallet; Use the wallet to log in to the dApp and perform the required tasks (mintage/equity/liquidity or other). If the user wants to perform a task (cross-chain operation) on a dApp built on a different chain, several steps need to be added: create a new wallet on the desired chain; Either transfer the correct tokens from CEX to the new wallet, or transfer the assets from the first chain to the second chain, and then exchange the tokens for the desired tokens on a decentralized exchange (DEX).

Cost and technical terms: Interacting with wallets and Dapps involves cost and knowledge barriers that are multiplied by the number of different chains used: understanding the complex cost decomposition such as gas (Gwei, priority) in wallets such as MetaMask; Slip tolerance, minimum reception, price impact, liquidity provider fees, APY when exchanging or providing liquidity on DEX.

Portability: The vast majority of Dapps are web-based, not mobile, limiting adoption.

In its current state, despite the core idea that participation costs should be low, Web3 still has too many barriers to access to be ready for mass adoption, which in turn limits the growth potential of all applications. What if there was a way to eliminate the additional complexity that a cross-chain world brings by seamlessly connecting all chains so that users don't even need to know when they're using one or the other, just as senders don't need to know how funds are transferred to the payee's account when making an international wire transfer?
