Introduction

To summarize 6529Complaints in a couple of sentences ; The initiative is centered around the theme of combining humor, memes, and the culture of complaints within the context of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) and broader Crypto & Web3 ecosystem. We often try to put a positive spin on complaints in our ecosystem.

In summary, 6529Complaints was born from an inside joke within OM discord where people used to complain about various things in relation to 6529memes ecosystem (No Allowlist, Floor price too high/too low, Gas prices, Frequency of NFT mints etc)

The idea was simple - Bring complaints on-chain. Instead of complaining on a centralized platform, we requested people to mint and send complaints to 6529complaints.eth and put them on-chain.

Starting there, it followed the 6529Memes model and gave a platform to emerging artists to create artwork in different complaints themes and share it with potential collectors. The project is called "Complaint Cards (not) by 6529", checkout the artwork and read more about them here. All the artwork was CC0, we kept the price relatively low so it's not a big lift for collectors and at the same time, artists are being decently compensated for their work and putting the art out there in Public domain.

Current State

There are a few things in the works for current state. We have a small but vibrant community that wishes each other nGMi on somewhat of an infrequent basis. Also, Zamunda who was an essential part of 6529Complaints from Day 0 has taken a step back and we thank him for all his contributions.

Complaint Cards

Towards the end of the season 1, we realized that the demand was tapering off which is very natural and we happen to have had launched Complaint Cards at the foothills of a bull run in 6529Memes which resulted into high demand in peripheral ecosystems. Coming back to the point, we realized that the demand was tapering off and instead of launching another season of Complaint Cards we put that idea on HODL and focused on building a place in the Metaverse called "Complaints Building".

Complaint Building

We have all the assets for the complaints building ready, the only thing that's left is decorating it and making it ready for Complainnnooorrrsss to enjoy and complain in. You can find a recap of the season and glimpse of the building in the video below.

Regular Complaints (Thanks Farcaster + Frames)

We had been nibbling on the idea of creating something on a higher frequency to spread complaint memes/re-memes onchain , find our 1000 true fans Complainnnooorrrsss and have fun. We didn't want this to come at any cost to the Complainnnooorrrsss but L1 gas prices were inhibitors, Farcaster + Frames + Base L2 + Manifold changed the script and we were able to execute on this idea.

Future Plans

We'd like to reiterate that there is no official roadmap to any of this. It's truly around having fun, spreading memes and bringing a humorous twists to complaints in the NFT/Crypto and Web3 worlds.

That being said, here are a few things we plan to spend our time on next ;

1. Finishing up decoration of complaints building and have a portal to that in OM

2. Keep spreading RegularComplaints and finding 1000 true fans while spreading memes, re-memes and complaints

3. Commence season #2 of Complaint Cards once we find a way for artists to be compensated fairly for their creating and releasing their work in the Public domain in a low demand environment.

4. Maybe something in relation to Major Karen Pepe

5. Working on a way (possibly using Frame) where people can submit their complaints onchain and they get collected in 6529complaints.eth

We don't think that there exists any human being who has never complained about something or the other. Along the same veins in our beloved NFT ecosystem, we see complaints daily on Twitter, Discord, etc. There's always a reason behind grievances (reasonable, unreasonable - it's not for us to judge), but often there's a negative sentiment attached to it. We want to change that by making it fun, memeable (if that's a word) while still communicating grievances in a more positive manner and commemorating it on the Ethereum blockchain.

Genesis of 6529 Complaints

We'll focus on 'The Memes' ecosystem here because that's where most of this starts. If you're not aware, per the description on website :

'The Memes Collection is focused on the fight for the open metaverse (decentralization, community, self-sovereignty) and spreading this message. We want many people, many wallets spreading this message.'

The collection comprises of art from various emerging and established artists in various categories. Sharing them below :

Now that you've browsed some beautiful art let us get back to the genesis of 6529 complaints. As the adoption of meme cards grew and the demand for buying them increased, a classic situation of supply v/s demand kicked in where demand was higher than supply.

6529 team has done an amazing job trying to be fair and mixing up distribution methods, but you can’t keep everyone happy all the time, and someone or the other had an issue with the drop mechanism, and often it was shared on Twitter or OM discord. Observing this as a community member, I (blocknoob) went ahead and registered 6529complaints.eth and essentially shared it as an inbox for folks to mint their complaints on the blockchain and send it to this address to browse v/s sharing it on centralized servers. It was mainly for fun and culture.

What started as a joke essentially took a life of its own in the discord server.

Here we are now. Sharing the genesis story of 6529complaints.
