What I think holds power for me here is the seamlessness of music and the story, and I come to find the two were created in tandem. Which one leads during the writing is where the magic is for me. And it shows on screen.

Also, for some reason—I’m not sure why I imagined this—but during the wedding scene I thought the spinning dancers were asleep. And I always thought that that was such a beautiful idea—dancers asleep at a wedding and you have to be careful not to wake them. It was good to see them again.
