How to view the NFT after you’ve received it

After submitting the survey with your wallet address and once Addonis transfers you the NFT, you can easily view the NFT in your OpenSea collection by following these steps:

Step 1: Go to https://opensea.io and connect your wallet. Note, if you are using a mobile device, select WalletConnect to be able to open you MetaMask mobile app.

Step 2: Click on your account icon, go to your profile, and select the hidden NFTs tab. By default OpenSea hides NFTs minted on Polygon that are transferred to your account.

Step 3: Click on the three dots ‘More options’ menu for the hidden NFT and select Unhide. Once complete, the NFT will be shown in your primary collection.

You can continue to hold the NFT for access to future giveaways from Addonis’ NFT projects, transfer the NFT to friends, or list it for sale on the OpenSea marketplace.

The NFT digital art collection, minted as NFTs available on NFT marketplace OpenSea, originated from a request by the French Consulate to create a portrait in honor of Josephine Baker’s 2021 induction into the Pantheon.

Unveiled during the 2021 Miami Art Week, the location was especially significant, as in 1951, Josephine Baker’s refusal to perform for a segregated crowd at the Copa City Club in Miami Beach led to integration sweeping across the US.

For the first time ever, Addonis is auctioning off one of his physical paintings as an NFT, with the owner of the From Paris With Love - Original Painting NFT able to claim the physical painting in December 2022, after its been shown for public appreciation in the French Consulate for one year from its unveiling.

How to participate

NFT sale will open to the public on December 2nd.

To buy the NFTs that are being sold at a fixed price, you will need to have Ethereum (ETH) in a crypto wallet that is compatible with OpenSea, we recommend MetaMask.

To place a bid on the NFTs that are being sold at auction, you will need to have USDC in your MetaMask.

ETH and USDC can be easily purchased within the MetaMask browser extension or by using an external exchange. We recommend the following steps:

1. Download the MetaMask wallet as a Google Chrome browser extension (there is also a mobile app)

2. To buy and transfer ETH or USDC to your Metamask wallet, use Crypto.com (offers immediate withdrawal) or Coinbase (allows you to withdraw within 4-5days for new users). If you already have an exchange account, you can use that exchange to send funds to your MetaMask wallet.

Honoring renowned entertainer & civil rights activist Josephine Baker

Josephine Baker represented #BlackGirlMagic long before Black Twitter made the term popular. Born in 1906, the year Black Wall Street was founded in the Greenwood district of Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the first Black woman to become a world-famous entertainer. Her important works also include being a wartime hero, spy, and civil rights activist for Black Americans, notably for being the only official female speaker at the March on Washington, standing at the side of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

In 1951, Ms. Baker was offered $10,000 by the Copa City Club in Miami Beach, but she refused to perform for segregated audiences. The Copa eventually met her demands. Her insistence on mixed audiences helped to integrate live entertainment shows in Miami, Las Vegas, and other cities throughout the U.S.

Art Basel Events

On November 28, 2021, the physical painting by Addonis Parker, From Paris with Love, will be exhibited in the French Consulate in Miami after a one-night only special unveiling at the National Hotel on Miami Beach.

On November 30, 2021, Ms. Baker will be celebrated in Paris, France. Her remains will be reinterred at the Pantheon monument, the first Black woman to receive one of the highest honors in France.

On December 2, 2021, the From Paris with Love NFT collection will premiere at Le Art Noir, a unique multicultural exhibition of artists from around the globe during Art Basel Miami, at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center in Liberty City, Miami. OneUnited Bank will purchase the first NFT from the collection, with additional renditions made available to the public. The NFT premiere taking place in Miami is particularly significant as Josephine Baker is celebrated for her work in desegregating Miami clubs.

The Haitian Heritage Museum will also be presenting "Introspective Noir", on Thursday December 2, 2021 starting at 6pm to 9pm, a group exhibition featuring works by renowned visual artists Addonis Parker, and Pierre Jean Baptiste. The show presents contemporary works by Afro Caribbean and African American artists, that circumspect the narratives of identity and reflective themes of self-awareness in our communities.

He's a giant, and not just because he stands six feet eight inches. For more than a decade, Addonis Parker, owner of Art Forever Studios in Liberty City, Miami has concentrated on improving the world through paint and brush.

From teaching art to at-risk youth, to completing large-scale mural commissions (such as his 55-foot-tall sunset on a public housing project), to participating in museum shows that celebrate black history and culture, Parker is a man on a mission to "do something historical."

Over the decades, Addonis has won a litany of commendations.

• In 1991 he was written into the history books, included in Who's Who in American Art, a biographical hardcover directory of noteworthy individuals in the visual arts community in the United States, the reference standards in the field of art.

• In 1998 the Atlanta Artist Club named Addonis Artist of the Year.

• In 2003 he was again named Artist of the Year by Miami’s Liberty City Cultural Affairs organization.

• In 2005, Miami Mayor Manny Diaz awarded Addonis the Community Icon Award. The African Heritage Cultural Arts Center awarded Addonis both the Impact Award and the People’s Choice Awards.

• In 2010, Mayor of Miami Gardens, Shirley Gibson honored Addonis by selecting him to design the 2010 Jazz In the Gardens festival poster.

• In 2015, Adonis received the Recognition Award for Black History Role Models of Excellence by Miami’s Office of the Mayor.  The same year, Addonis was recognized in Legacy Gala Honoree Magazine as one of the “50 Most Powerful & Influential Black Professionals in Business & Industry''

• In 2019, Addonis received the African-American Achievers Award Award.
