What’s the quickest strategy?

The teams have been caught out a little bit this weekend after struggling with the hard compound, as it was sliding and wearing in hot conditions on Friday, making it comfortably slower than the medium and soft. So when it comes to the quickest way to the end of a race, starting on the soft compound is deemed best as it will allow the best launch off the line for one of the longer runs to Turn 1 this season. The opportunity to make up positions would then be followed by a first stint of between 16-21 laps before switching to the medium compound tyre.

The aerial views are a “first step” toward launching the “immersive view” the company showed off at Google I/O, according to a blog post from Google Maps director of product Amanda Leicht Moore. Immersive view will also include indoor views and information like traffic and the weather layered on the map, Google spokesperson Genevieve Park tells The Verge. At I/O, Google said immersive view would begin rolling out in Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo “later this year.”

In addition to the aerial views, Google is bringing a few other new features to Maps. For cycling routes, you’ll be able to see additional information like whether a specific road you’ll be instructed to travel on is a major or minor road, if your route includes stairs or steep hills, and whether you can expect to hit heavy traffic. And if someone has shared their location with you, you’ll be able to get notifications when they get to or leave a location. Apple offers a similar feature with the Find My app.

Gone is the overwrought, boy-racer, “I wear my hat backward and vape” design of the previous generation, replaced by clean lines all around on a longer, lower and wider body. Aside from the big wing, the hood vent, and the red Type R badges, the rest of the new CTR is almost subtle. Especially in Historic Championship White, the Type R-exclusive paint color you see here.

Up front, Honda gave the Type R a large lower grille — look close, and you can see a huge intercooler behind it — a front lip spoiler, and the red badging we’ve come to expect on Type R products.

As reported by VGC, Konami's Japanese Twitter account posted to commemorate the anniversary and announced that fans, seemingly soon, will once again be able to play the temporarily suspended entries.

"The Metal Gear series, released on July 13, 1987, celebrated its 35th anniversary today," it said. "We are preparing to resume sales of titles that have been temporarily suspended."

This could refer to the versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 that were removed from digital storefronts last November following license renewal issues.

Konami said at the time: "We are currently working on renewing the licenses for select historical archive footage used in-game, therefore, we have made the temporary decision to begin suspending the sale of Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and all products that include these games from digital storefronts globally starting from November 8, 2021."

Wolf Pack is an invite-only multiplayer mode, where the host can invite up to 7 friends to watch them attempt to save the troubled teens from certain death at Hackett’s Quarry Summer Camp. This is no normal playthrough though, oh no. In Wolf Pack your friends will vote on major decisions in the game, with the majority dictating the outcome of that particular scene. Yay for democracy… although this can probably lead to some less than desirable outcomes, if you ask us… after all, person is smart, people are dumb.

On top of the new Wolf Pack mode, players will now be able to find all 6 episodes of the in-game podcast, Bizarre Yet Bonafide, in the game. These were previously only accessible on various streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music, which I am literally only just learning about now…

The Bizarre Yet Bonafide podcast series centres around Grace and Anton, who are fictional paranormal investigators who are looking into Hackett’s Quarry and the mysteries that have arisen from the area. Yes, the same podcast that was previously mentioned in-game by Ryan, AKA Justice Smith. A podcast that until now I had no idea that it existed…

I’ve only had about eleven hours with the phone at the time of writing this, so this is by no means a complete review. But on paper, this phone is a beast with the overkill hardware that we have come to expect from the last two Xiaomi Ultra phones, and from my testing, it’s living up to that gaudy spec sheet so far.

As detailed in a blog post by Alexander Kuscher, director of Chrome OS Software at Google, the update builds on the Phone Hub app released to Chrome OS last year. It works with smartphones running Android 5.1 and later and lets you view the phone's text messages and battery life and bring over tabs from your mobile Chrome browser to your Chromebook's browser.

In Chrome 103, photos you take on your Android Phone will automatically show up in the Phone Hub under a new "Recent photos" section.

You can then download the images to save to your Chromebook so you can edit them, email them, or do anything else you'd prefer to do on a computer instead of a phone.

Google is also updating its Nearby Share feature in Chrome 103. Nearby Share uses Bluetooth Low Energy, WebRTC, or peer-to-peer Wi-Fi to share files over the air between Chromebooks and Android phones. Chrome 103 gives you the ability to connect a Chromebook to a saved Wi-Fi network. The next time a new Chromebook connects to your network, you won't have to find your Wi-Fi password to set it up if your Android phone is already connected.

The process described by Kuscher seems simple enough. On an Android phone, you just go to the Wi-Fi network, hit Share, then tap a "Nearby" tile under a QR code. Afterward, you'll be able to see the Chromebook and can connect it to the Wi-Fi network, the blog said.

"Nearby Share will deliver the Wi-Fi credentials (as in the network name and password), and the Chromebook will automatically connect to the Wi-Fi. And, of course, it will also save for the next time the Chromebook needs to use that Wi-Fi network," Kuscher explained.

Kuscher also said that Chrome 103 will get a Fast Pair Bluetooth update "later this summer." The feature should allow you to connect Bluetooth devices, like headphones, without having to figure out which button to press on the product or do anything in the Chromebook settings other than turning Bluetooth on.

"Just turn on your Chromebook’s Bluetooth, and it will automatically detect when a new pair of Bluetooth headphones are on, are nearby, and are ready to be set up. A pop-up notification will appear, and with one tap, your new accessory is connected and ready to go," Kuscher wrote. "No more digging through settings or struggling to figure out the right button to press to pair your headphones."

This feature would differ from similar technologies like Windows Swift Pair, which presents a pop-up on the PC when it senses a Bluetooth device, but only if the wireless device is in its pairing mode.

Kuscher said the feature will work with "hundreds of different headphone models," including, not surprisingly, Google's Pixel Buds. Kuscher didn't specify which models of the Pixels Buds would support the feature but shared an image of the $99 Pixel Buds A-series that came out in June 2021.
