We have only one job: To curate and spread the gospel of Black and African creativity as far and wide as possible.

Today, we’re happy to introduce Afro3 — a newsletter curating Black and African culture in web3.

In other words, we’re going to be shamelessly sharing news and updates about the amazing Black and African web3 creators who are helping to reshape how we value and own our culture.

In the last 12 to 18 months, Web3 and NFTs have exploded.

We’ve seen multi-billion dollar projects like the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and multi-million dollar NFT sales like Beeple’s "Everydays - The First 5000 Days" which was sold for a whopping $69M at a Christie’s auction.

On the Afro side of things, hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg sold over $45M of his B.O.D.R (Bacc on Death Row) Stash Box NFTs on Gala Music.

Madness.

Although hype and excitement in the space have cooled off in recent months due to the uncertainty in the broader crypto and macro environment, one thing that’s very clear from the last bull run is:

Crypto, Web3, and NFTs are 100% here to stay.

And so are we.

While the markets are doing what they do, Blacks and Africans in web3 continue to push the boundaries of creativity in showcasing our culture to a global audience.

At Afro3, we have only one job: To curate and spread the gospel of Black and African creativity as far and wide as possible.

To achieve this, we’re launching a newsletter on Substack. Starting next Monday (July 11, 2022), we’ll be releasing one issue every week to highlight the works of our creators with a focus on NFT drops and related projects.

To give a glimpse of what to expect, we’ve curated some impressing news from the Afro web3 community from the past few weeks:

• Afropolitan announced raising $2.1m in pre-seed capital to build a Digital Nation for all Africans. Read More
