On May 15, we stated $ANS token holders would be entitled to a share of the revenue generated by the protocol along with the project’s early supporters.

We have already airdropped ANS domain holders $ANS tokens based on their domains minted. Now we are incentivizing those token holders as well.

A percentage of revenue generated by the ANS protocol will be distributed via everPay (in $AR Arweave Token) among the $ANS token holders and Ark NFT holders.

Protocol revenue sharing structure

• 10% of domain minting revenue will be distributed in total.

• 70% will be shared pro-rata with $ANS token holders. This means the more $ANS you hold, the larger your share of the revenue. This is to encourage holding and align long-term incentives among our users while incentivizing DAO participation.

• 30% of the allocated share will be distributed among decent.land Ark NFT holders. Our 43 Arks are the original decent.land early ‘Founder’s Pass’ which receive perks from all projects launched by the team. This portion will be split across wallets that hold Ark NFTs, with the amount received weighted by the number of Arks held.

Snapshot

The revenue generated by the protocol between the launch and the 15th of June will be retroactively shared with holders as per the snapshot (currently 550 $AR and growing). Going forward, snapshots and distributions will recur on the 15th of each month.

Eligibility

On the 15th of each month $ANS and Ark NFT holders will be airdropped $AR tokens to their everPay balances.

⚠️ $ANS Balances acquired through Uniswap or balances withdrawn to external wallets (Metamask etc.) are not eligible. Must have $ANS in everPay balance to maintain eligibility.

Getting $ANS

Method 1: Deposit any token to everPay and swap for $ANS. Tokens supported by everPay include ETH, USDC and AR. The AR/ANS pair is also available on Permaswap.

Ark NFTs

March 12 2022 marked the genesis of ANS. We airdropped 513 domains to early Verto adopters and distributed a handful over the next 11 months in community giveaways. On February 17 2023, we launched the public mint of ANS names on ans.gg. At the time of writing, almost 800 Arweavers hold over 1,400 domains in total.

Today, we’re launching the ANS DAO, the $ANS token, and the community airdrop.

$ANS token holders are able to create and vote on proposals in the DAO, and will be entitled to revenue from the protocol. They will also be entitled to revenue from onsf.io namespaces, including ANS itself and our new partner building .raven names on our stack, Raven Protocol.

Specifics on protocol revenue sharing allocations will be announced on the 26th of May 2023.

Community airdrop

Today we airdropped 21851.67 $ANS to 296 eligible holders via everPay today, and forming the early stages of an ANS DAO! 🎉

We took a snapshot of those who minted ANS names on ans.gg and weighted the airdrop distribution based on the number of held domains and their scarcity.

32.2% - DAO reserve

We will lock the largest chunk of the total supply in the ANS DAO. The DAO will decide best how to allocate tokens to further the progress and adoption of ANS – integrations, partnerships, and initiatives to build trust and credibility for the project.

The DAO may choose to allocate this portion towards incentivizing development, marketing, education and community building initiatives that are in alignment with ANS.

30% – team and core contributors

By allocating a portion of tokens to the team and core contributors, we ensure that they remain committed to the project's long-term vision and success.

This allocation serves as a powerful motivator for the early team to innovate develop and improve the ANS Protocol.

21.8% – community airdrop

Allocating 21.8% of the $ANS token supply to users who have minted ANS domains is our way of thanking early supporters, fostering a strong community, and encouraging adoption. It aligns incentives for these users with the project's success, promotes network effects, and contributes to the growth and development of the ANS ecosystem.

16% - liquidity

16% of the total $ANS supply will be used for DEX liquidity on Permaswap and Uniswap.
