Have you ever heard someone’s voice that doesn’t appear to be there when you look.. but you were certain you heard what you thought they said? This is something of a confirmation of suspicion for someone with relation to “suffering” from a condition typically characterized as “schizophrenia,” literally “split mind,” and typically castigated throughout society as nearly the worst potential mental health diagnosis because it implies the “sufferer” is losing their grip on reality. For centuries, millennia even, human beings have experienced variations in consciousness, in nearly every language and culture, that have typically been explained through the religious framework ie God/gods, angels, demons, djinn, and other forms of spiritual entities. While the modern interpretation of the concept is generally projected against the backdrop of the technical surveillance state that in the internet and ubiquitous cellular telephony has enabled, the original, and accurate, conceptualization is truthfully benevolent in its intent. Bentham was a sharp, and mindful 18th-century social critic, famously rebutting the double-standards set forth by the American colonists in their “Declaration of Independence.” As a jurist and philosopher, he was also keenly aware of the shortcomings of the government, as well as those of his fellow citizens who had been convicted of criminal offenses, and required some form of punishment, or “social rehabilitation.” The panopticon represented a more idealized form of the standard punishment for convicted offenders, a prison. But a special prison that, although reducing the concept of privacy to almost nil, actually made it easier for the individual offender to correct behaviors and free themselves from the bonds of repetition that would otherwise surely continue binding them even after their sentences were served.

I grew up in Palm Springs, California working in a family-based computer consulting firm. Some of my earliest memories are of spending time in various offices for all types of businesses with my father as he worked on their networks and formatting 5.25" or 3.5" floppy disks at home for a nickel each. I learned by watching my father address every type of need and fix every type of IT issue until eventually, I was able to assist and contribute in a meaningful way. I worked with my father throughout high school until beginning college for computer engineering. At university, I did not adjust well to being away from home, and was unable to complete my degree. All through my youth and young adult life, I nurtured a heavy interest in distributed computing, and participated in projects like SETI@home with diskless nodes spread out all around my family's home. I've continued in the IT field for various other companies in different environments like medium-scale enterprise, agriculture and casino gaming. Our own company eventually pivoted away from computer support and evolved into building and managing our website with an emphasis on JavaScript calculators, converters, and free web snippets. My blockchain journey began in late 2014 when I started running a variety of ASIC SHA-256 and Scrypt miners while experimenting with and learning about the cryptocurrency ecosystem. I made every mistake possible, and probably some thought impossible until I managed to accomplish them. I took a special interest in the development of Ethereum early and participated in the first DAO, "The DAO" in 2016. I have a good working knowledge of blockchain technology, token economies, and the wide range of crypto ecosystems now supported by these concepts. I am presently utilizing that knowledge by educating others and working to help blockchain and Web3 provide tangible benefits to those most in need.
