In 2019, Peng Zhengyu, who was appointed as the first Secretary of Xintian village by the Central Committee of the agricultural labor party, negotiated with the village cadres, transferred more than 100 mu of idle rice fields in the adjacent zhuzhonghe village and Longgong community, raised funds from various sources, and cooperated with zhuzhonghe village to build this crayfish breeding base.

The breeding base adopts the mode of “cooperatives + companies + farmers” and connects 184 households and 570 poor households in Xintian village to obtain share dividends. Since the base was completed and put into operation, it can generate more than 220000 yuan for the collective economy of Xintian village every year and increase the income of each household by more than 1000 yuan. At the same time, the base also led 108 households in zhuzhonghe village, Yangchang village and Longgong community nearby to benefit from land transfer and local work, realizing resource sharing and win-win among village collectives.

“The crayfish here is raised with mountain spring water. The meat is white and the belly is white. It tastes good!” Yang Mingjun, the person in charge of the base, said that the crayfish produced by the base is often in short supply in the market, and are basically booked early by surrounding merchants.

Meng Xianyun, deputy director of Xintian village committee, introduced that the development of Xintian village industry enables people to not only get land transfer fees, but also work in cooperatives. The initial distribution of labor reaches 112000 yuan, benefiting 40 farmers. The developing rural economy also attracts young people in the village to return to the village for development.
