wen ATH is a game where you predict wen we will hit ATHs on literally anything. It could be the ATHs of tokens like $DEGEN or $BTC, the # of followers someone has on Farcaster, the number of CO₂ particles in the atmosphere, or just about anything that has some sort of measurable data!

As we are absolute degens, the inaugural game of wen ATH is to predict wen $DEGEN will hit a weekly ATH. After tipping an entry fee of 100 $DEGEN, players can choose wen they think $DEGEN will hit its weekly high from a set of randomized options.

To play, you will have to meet the following conditions:

• Tip 100 $DEGEN

• Hold 1337 $ATH (Swap now on ProxySwap and DegenSwap )

• Follow @wenath on Farcaster

Players can play unlimited times, each time tipping 100 $DEGEN to play (only valid tips will count and we are checking!).

The $DEGEN tips received will be pooled into the prize pool, which the ᖽATH team is seeding with a juicy 25K $DEGEN and 69K $ATH! As more people play, this prize pool will grow to a pretty sizeable amount.

ᖽ Because we're not only degens, but absolute chads, we've designed wen ATH to be a game where everyone wins. At the end of the week, once the weekly ATH is determined, the prize pool will be awarded in the following ways:

Closest Prediction: 50% of the Prize Pool

10 Runners-Up: 20% of the Prize Pool

Everyone else who plays: 20% of the Prize Pool

Well, with ATHs (and therefore airdrops) on the horizon, we felt like now is a good moment to update the community with two pieces of great news. 

Firstly, the announcement that ATH was awarded TWO grants for Deploy on Degen Week! A grant of 450,000 $DEGEN from the main Deploy on Degen Week grant pool, and an additional grant from the chads at 1Confirmation. 

We’re delighted to have received these grants for our work establishing ATH as the growth flywheel on Degen Chain and the development of our soon to be launched flagship game “wen ATH” coming this Monday!

Secondly, an update regarding our airdrop plans. A quick recap - in our launch post - we outlined that:

• 10% of the $ATH will be airdropped to holders when reaching ATHs of $DEGEN

• 5% of the $ATH will be airdropped upon reaching ATHs of $ATH. 

Airdrop #1 will be based on the pro-rata holdings of ATH, on top of which there will also be boosts based upon meeting the following criteria:

Finally, we had a huge response to our onboarding frame for our new game ‘wen ATH’ – the game where you predict the ATHs of just about anything. The game is coming next week (yes we ship that quickly) and is a major step for the growth of ᖽATH.

So we decided to do things differently. We launched with 0% (yes, Zero) team allocation. We allocated 20% of the ATH supply to our holders for airdrops. We committed a juicy 70% for the LP. By investing our own funds—10% of the initial liquidity, we put skin in the game. We also put our credibility on the line, as known builders and creators in the crypto world and beyond.

If that isn’t enough, today we’re also excited to announce that ᖽATH is the first project to lock our funds in a SAFE multisig. These are the tokens that will be airdropped to all ATH holders once we hit ATHs on $degen and $ATH. You can see the transaction here.

Having tools like this available is crucial, as currently Degen Chain Layer 3 is living up to its name. It's, well, the wild west of incredible degeneracy. While projects like ATH and Wake are growing, backed by credible teams, the ecosystem is not without its challenges. We’ve seen lots of rugs, exploits and outright scams, so it’s pretty hard to stay SAFU. That’s one of the reasons we also created the Degen Chain OG group chat on Warpcast, to help each other stay safe and share interesting new projects as they emerge.  

ᖽATH has been here since the beginning of Degen Chain, we’ve amassed nearly 1000 holders and a strong community across the interwebs. We're currently participating in the 'Deploy on Degen' week, gearing up to roll out an exciting initiative that we can’t wait to share with you! There are also lots of other great projects building on L3 which makes us confident we’ve picked the right ecosystem to grow within.

As first movers on Degen Chain, we see the enormous opportunity in front of us all. The chance to create a dedicated low-fee, high-speed, L3 ecosystem for degens to have the time of their lives. We also really believe that this can only be possible by supporting credible teams, with skin in the game, solid tokenomics and a commitment to safety––exactly like the Degen project itself that sparked all of this into life.

Being perpetually online these days has its benefits. It brings about the kind of thrill that turns a regular Thursday afternoon into a host of emotions barely comprehensible to the 'normies'.

Transformed from jokes into legitimised humour-backed currency, memecoins and now 'scenecoins' are having their moment.

The forces of culture and currency previously combined in the last cycle (Doge, NFTs etc.) but this time it’s different. These forces are being spun into a vortex and whipped into an ever more powerful frenzy by Decentralized Social (DeSo) like Farcaster, where the echo chamber isn't the bug, it’s the feature. 

These spaces are ever more self-referential, where culture reverberates and is amplified (yes it’s an echo chamber, but it’s our echo chamber) and from within this chamber the resulting sound is loud and clear – 'higher', 'sendit' and yes even 'goat'. 

This time it’s different; 'this isn't just about building wealth; it's about channeling energy and building a new world’. A world where every dip is a necessary prelude to glory. Where every peak is a tale for the ages.

We're not just chasing numbers; we're chasing the highest of ultimate highs; that indescribable zenith of ecstasy, akin to hitting the jackpot while free-falling from the stratosphere, all to the backdrop of a bespoke symphony played by the world’s finest musicians. That's the feeling of an ATH.

ATH chasers embody a spirit that is more than a fleeting high; it's a vibe, a way of life, a shared energy that we don't just seek, but embody and radiate. It's the fuel for our collective spacecraft, that isn’t just aiming for the stars but new dimensions that exist far beyond what we can perceive.

In case you missed our last post, ATH is on a mission to bring the next Trillion users to Degen Chain. As the community-appointed official degencoin of Degen Chain, ATH wants to make sure you're equipped to hop on to Layer 3 and grab some $ATH with confidence.

But first, what is Degen Chain? Essentially it is a Layer 3 (L3) blockchain built on top of the Base Layer 2 (L2). It uses $degen as its native token, meaning gas is paid in $degen.

As a Layer 3, Degen Chain is super fast and has much lower fees compared to the Ethereum mainnet. All of this makes it the ideal chain for degens .

Now that you're up to speed, let's begin your step-by-step Degen Chain initiation:

OK, first things first, you'll need some ETH or $degen in your crypto wallet on the Base network. While you can bridge using other tokens and other networks, let's keep it simple and focus on getting $degen onto Degen Chain. As $degen is native to Base, it’s natural we start there.

Metamask and Coinbase Wallet work best at the moment, as some others might not be supported just yet. (*Update 05/04/2024, Rainbow now supports Degen Chain! With native support coming soon ) 

You’ll also want to add “Degen Chain” to your network list.

Our friends at Revoke.cash have created this nice guide (with a 1-click button) that you can use to add Degen Chain to your wallet. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, you can add it manually:

If you're a Farcaster OG, you probably bagged some $degen just by being online and posting stuff. If not, no worries—you can purchase $degen on Base, an L2 network on top of Ethereum's L1.

To get some $degen we suggest using Uniswap or Aerodrome. These decentralized exchanges (DEXs) are your go-to for swapping tokens:

1. Select the token you want to swap for $degen e.g. ETH.

2. Enter the amount you want to swap. Remember, on L2 you'll need ETH for gas, but thanks to the low-fees, swapping won't break the bank (shoutout to Jesse and co. at Base).

3. Hit swap → you may need to approve the amount if this is your first time, before confirming the swap

Next, you'll "bridge" (send) your $degen from L2 to the shiny new realm of L3. You've got options, either the official Degen Chain Bridge: or the shiny new Relay bridge.

1. Connect your wallet, then select Base network (default option) 

2. Choose DEGEN as your token (or search for DEGEN in the search bar).

3. Input how much $degen you're sending over, and approve the transaction.

4. Your wallet should pop-up and allow you to ‘approve’  the amount you're sending over. 

5. Once approved, you’ll be able to ‘confirm’ the transfer in a second step.

Then watch as your $degen magically moves over to L3.

You can track your progress on the Degen Chain explorer, by entering your wallet address in the search bar, but patience, young Degen, these things can take a bit of time.

The magic moment has arrived. With your $degen now on L3, it's time to get some $ATH. For this you'll need to head over to DegenSwap (it's like Uniswap but more Degen):

1. Connect your wallet and select the 'Degen Chain' network 

2. Degen will already be selected as the default 'Swap From' token 

3. Select $ATH as the token you want to swap for

4. Enter the amount of $degen you want to swap, and hit 'swap'

5. Confirm the amount and the transfer  

And bam! You just completed your first swap on Layer 3, which leads to the last and maybe most important step…

Congratulations, you've officially joined Degen Chain's Layer 3 via $ATH. Now, kick back, relax, and enjoy the ride as $ATH hits new all time highs and your airdrops start rolling in. Our flywheel is designed to foster growth for both $ATH and of course $DEGEN, where this crazy journey all began.

ATH was born out of a late-night discussion in a very-degen group chat on Farcaster, around the frustration many of Degen Chain's most active users felt with regard to the lack of sustainable, credible projects on the L3. Many of us were so impressed with the success of Degen, that we felt it was only fair that there existed a project worthy of the Degen Chain.

With that, we bounced some ideas around different memes and projects that we could launch - until landing on three key principles upon which we wanted to launch our project:

1. We wanted a meme that would resonate strongly with the Degen community

2. We sought to create something that would stand as a beacon of hope amongst the rugs, scams and lowly PVP behaviour many of us had endured on Degen Chain

3. We felt that nothing represented the Degen community more than well... A Top Hat (ATH)

And thus, morphing together top hats, the growth of an ecosystem, and a strong meme we created All Time High ($ATH)! Combining the Degen community's constant desire to go $higher ↑↑↑

With ATH, we seek to become a growth flywheel for the Degen Chain ecosystem and its wider community. Together, we believe we can bring Degen Chain to the forefront of the crypto ecosystem by aligning incentives of the Degen Chain community, the ATH community, $ATH the token, the Degen Chain, $DEGEN token, the wider Farcaster community, and all those who wish to join us on our grand journey to create more democratic, resilient, and win-win financial systems.

Let's start with our first growth flywheel, the $ATH airdrops...

$DEGEN is the perfect schelling point for the successful growth of the Degen Chain ecosystem. Not only does it act as the Chain's native currency, but it also serves an important mechanism to drive attention to the ecosystem.

To further incentivize the adoption of $DEGEN, ATH has allocated 20% of its token supply (see below for a detailed list of tokenomics) to airdrop $ATH to all ATH holders upon the completion of the following milestones:

The $ATH airdrops are just one part of our long journey together. Already, we've achieved great success (wowow): we have a community of over 600 on Farcaster, hit over $1.5m in market cap, and are garnering an ever-growing presence throughout the crypto lands.

Ahead of us, we have several ideas that we would like to build with the ATH community:

• ATH DAO: As the infrastructure allows, we imagine rolling out a DAO powered by the holders of the ATH community. Our DAO will be a community-led initiative to pursue ATH/Degen aligned ideas and allocate the remaining ATH tokens, and any in-kind tokens that the DAO may receive.

• ATH Game: Fully onchain games and autonomous worlds are set to transform the crypto ecosystem, ultimately fueling its growth. Degen Chain stands as a core piece of the infrastructure; an ultra-cheap and lightning-fast chain to deploy such games. We are working on launching ATH: The Game - stay tuned!

• ATH Infra: As it stands, Degen Chain's infrastructure is in its infancy (we are sooo early). Therefore, we aim to leverage the ATH community to develop critical infrastructure to make Degen Chain the best place for degens to enjoy (!!!)

• ATH Layer 4: What would a roadmap be without plans for another chain?! That's right folks, the ATH L4 is coming your way - and of course it settles on the best L3 out there: Degen Chain!
