Crazy Carl has been an Anon investor in the blockchain since 2017. He spent years reading white papers, researching crypto projects, and learning from personal failure to finally create a path to financial freedom for himself and his family. As a former public school teacher he wanted to help others achieve financial freedom as well, but always struggled to identify how to scale his technical knowledge to do so.

All of that changed in 2021 with NFTs. NFTs were making the blockchain cool, sexy, and culturally relevant. This was the perfect tool to help onboard the masses. By interviewing pioneers and creating a narrative around their shared stories, it was now possible to help others learn about the power of the blockchain in a fun and engaging way.

After 6 months of live interviews on The Crazy About Crypto Show, he started The Crazy Carl Collective discord and invited all of his followers and every guest of his show to join him. The discord became a safe place to grow together and continue learning about each individual’s journey into this new, innovative ecosystem. There was no whitelist or project to incentivize joining, just a group of people dedicated to collectively growing in the space together.

There was beauty in creating a discord server without any NFT project attached to it, but it seemed like there was an opportunity being missed. One that could help educate everyone in the space about the power of organic community growth in Web3. Crazy Carl envisioned an NFT where the community itself became the utility. A community where the NFT was a reward for the individual efforts of those with a shared vision to develop and build differently in Web3. The NFT would have no value on its own because it would be given for free, but it would be the key to unlocking the community that the group created. The NFT would become an access token to the community in discord — which is where all the value was being created.

In addition, Crazy Carl thought the art of the NFTs should be extremely meaningful. A gift within itself. He collaborated with 3 of his closest friends in the NFT world — Jasti, Odious, and Myth Division — to create true pieces of art for the genesis collection of The Crazy Carl Collective NFTs.

There is a total supply of 3,333 Genesis Crazy Carl Collective NFTs. Each artist created a special Crazy Carl Derivative NFT (edition of 1,111).

These tokens are then given out as rewards to those that help build the collective. Not a single NFT in the genesis collection will be sold. Every token will be distributed through contract unlocking and free whitelisting over the next two years. When minting, whitelisted individuals will be able to choose between 3 genesis NFTs to mint from (only costs being gas fees).

933 (28% of supply) of the NFTs will be unlocked at launch by the smart contract. The rest will unlock quarterly over the next two years for distribution.

The initial whitelist has been rewarded to the following individuals:

Artist Collective: Each artist is whitelisted to receive 100 of the NFTs they created. Their time and artwork is extremely valuable, and their gift to the Collective will never be forgotten.

Gutter Labs: Gutter Labs is whitelisted to receive 66 NFTs. It was important to have a trusted team behind the smart contract and Dapp development for this project. Crazy Carl’s original community for the show came primarily from the Gutter Cat Gang so it seemed fitting to include the talented GCG team in assisting with the launch. These 66 NFTs will be gifted to the GCG Community.

Crazy Carl: Crazy Carl will receive 33 NFTs, or 1% of the token supply. The focus was never meant to be on Crazy Carl. The power is in the collective, and therefore 99% of the tokens will be distributed amongst them. Crazy Carl is merely a steward to help guide the community to decentralization.

Crazy Carl Collective: The discord members that came together to create this community before it became an NFT project are the secret sauce. The community is where the true utility lies. As such, every member of the discord will be receiving 1 whitelist spot to mint just for joining. Moderators and individuals that have already stepped up in various leadership roles in the community will be rewarded with 3 whitelist mints.

Since there is no initial funding, 5% of secondary sales will be allocated to Crazy Carl Labs LLC to create a fund to assist in the community’s evolution to full decentralization.

Whitelisted members will have one month to mint their NFT. Any NFTs not minted during the initial launch will roll into upcoming contract unlocks and be whitelisted to individuals adding value to the collective. The remaining mints (72%) will be unlocked from the smart contract and whitelisted on the following quarterly schedule.

April 1, 2022 — 250July 1, 2022 — 250October 1, 2022 — 250January 1, 2023 — 250April 1, 2023 — 350July 1, 2023 — 350October 1, 2023 — 350December 1, 2023 — 350

Watch us, then join us. Engage. Build. Reward. Repeat. #WeAreCrazyCarl #CrazyCarlCollectiveNFTs

Keep an eye on these key trends to stay on top of the crypto game

We’re about a quarter of the way through 2022, and the cryptocurrency markets have been fluctuating between red and green in recent months. BTC is approximately 40% lower than its all-time high in November of last year at the time of writing. Ethereum, the second-largest cryptocurrency, is no exception.

But it’s all part of the fun. So we’re not here to discuss specific cryptocurrency price moves. Instead, we’ll talk about some major concepts around which the following stories will be built. Simply put, our crypto projections for 2022 are as follows.

History, as they say, repeats itself. As a result, understanding the past is necessary for forecasting the future. In this part, we provide you with a one-year summary of the industry.

The year 2021 was a watershed moment for DeFi platforms. Checking the total value locked, or TVL, in a DeFi protocol is a crucial statistic for determining its size. It is nothing more than the entire quantity of crypto assets stored there.

One year later, on December 31, 2021, this amount jumped from $17 billion to a whopping $252 billion. In the next parts, we’ll go deeper into this topic.

You didn’t see this coming from afar, did you? In terms of the year 2021’s trendiest issues, NFTs took centre stage. This isn’t something we’re asserting. Even Google search data confirms that in the year 2021, the number of searches for NFT overtook those for Bitcoin.

We’d be astonished if you claimed you have no idea what NFTs are.

With the renaming of the world’s largest social media firm to Meta, the narrative around Metaverses was irrevocably altered. If someone who has created best-in-class goods centred on community and society believes in this notion, one must admit that it has immense potential.

As a result, when this news broke, Metaverse-based crypto coins saw a 4x increase by the end of 2021.

In this room, there are two types of people. One who is hoping to make a fast buck by implementing this technology. Others who are interested in making a difference.

This section is dedicated to them both. Not only would we discuss some rising trends in this field, but we’d also discuss some unresolved issues. Those who are able to solve these challenges will be able to amass a large sum of money.

We recently spoke about how much DeFi has grown in the last year. But, for some reason, it hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves in the media. Why? We believe there are several explanations behind this.

To begin with, DeFi is a difficult concept to grasp. Because there are so many variables at play in DeFi, the mainstream media just avoids discussing it. Second, on a concept level, it isn’t as interesting or vulgar. Consider this: would you prefer talk to your friends about a monkey being sold for millions of dollars or an amazing technology that will likely transform the way banks operate?

If you go with the first option, you’re in the majority, and there’s nothing wrong with that. You now see why DeFi took a backseat. We predict that as more individuals get interested in decentralised finance, these protocols will see another year of rapid development. According to some observers, the TVL might reach $800 billion in the next years. With that said, there are a few important issues that must be addressed before we ‘travel to the moon.’ The following are the issues:

The user experience in DeFi and the Web 3 area as a whole is currently flawed. Consider this: when was the last time you had to learn how to use Facebook by watching a YouTube video? In Decentralized Finance, this is not the case.

Even something as simple as setting up a MetaMask wallet may necessitate the use of instructions.

Consider Blockchains as cities to have a better understanding of this. Each of these cities has its own banking system (DeFi protocols). However, true growth will only occur when these banks are able to communicate and collaborate with one another.

That is currently a missing piece of the jigsaw in DeFi. Many Blockchains are attempting to fix this problem, however it is yet incomplete.

The first two months of 2022 shattered all prior trade records on OpenSea. This platform saw $5 billion worth of trades in a single month.

With that stated, the joy is beginning to fade away. No, we’re not suggesting that NFTs are on their way out. NFTs aren’t going anywhere. NFTs with little usefulness, on the other hand, are likely to fall out of favour shortly. There will be NFTs that function as a component of a larger Metaverse. Another use case that is currently gaining traction is staking NFTs, in which one can stake their NFT to generate income.

Meet-ups, consulting sessions, and cooperation chances are examples of other use cases. In a nutshell, PFP-based initiatives have gotten their fill of the media attention. It’s past time for them to fade away.

It’s as hot as it gets in the metaverse. People are investing more on Decentralized Metaverses like Sandbox and Decentraland as a result of Facebook.

Celebrities like as Snoop Dogg have invested in Sandbox virtual territories to stage virtual concerts. This sector, in our opinion, is only getting started. Metaverse is expected to represent a $2 trillion potential, according to JP Morgan. In the year 2022, a lot more attention will be paid to creating more organised and improved Metaverse experiences.

As the hysteria fades, development activities will pick up. The Metaverse would not be limited to the realms of gaming and entertainment. In reality, firms would try to exploit the Metaverse as an alternative route for marketing, either by developing one or joining one already existing.

What are you talking about? What do meme coins have to do with this list? As of the time of writing, Dogecoin’s 24 hour volume is $545,288,232. You may laugh all you want, but this isn’t a joke. By any measure, a $500 million volume is not insignificant.

Money is an immensely fascinating subject. Money may be made out of anything that people believe in. Since its beginnings, it has assumed many forms such as stones, crowns, animal skins, gold, and so on. So, why not use meme coins as a form of payment? We feel that meme coins are particularly unpredictable and can quickly change the top ten places.

Meme coins will continue to gain traction as more individuals explore this sector on a daily basis. Nobody knows for sure which meme coin will emerge victorious in the end, but there has to be one.

Yes, this is truly wealth democratisation in its purest form. Last year, Axie Infinity caused a stir in the gaming world, with many individuals seeing it as a viable career option. People began to earn more money from gaming alone than they did from their employment (at least in smaller nations).

We also witnessed a number of investors pooling their funds to purchase equipment for the players in exchange for a percentage of the player’s revenue.

This trend, we feel, is here to stay. Having saying that, Axie Infinity isn’t the best P2E model available. There will be iterations, and newcomers will join the game. It’s important to keep an eye on this new trend.

Karolina: Hey everyone. So, this month we finally finished our first article on Tau and it will be posted on Cointelegraph after the holidays, so that we can get more traffic. So that’s already sorted and planned and we are excited to see it online. The next step will be translating the article for the Asian markets which is also already in the works. There’s finally some movement in the PR area. This month, we’ve also started working on the visual language of Tau, which involves a lot of discussions on what concepts can we depict and how can we do it in a way that would make Tau ideas not only attractive but also make them a bit easier to understand at a glance.

We’ll be using those illustrations as part of our visual branding language. So, we’ll be using a lot of those on our new website and the website is my main focus right now. I’m working on mapping out the content and gathering all the necessary information and I can tell you that it’s not going to be some simple landing page. It will be a very extensive source of information. So, we’re aiming to balance the technical side and to make it a little as gradable as it should look. But also make it easier to understand for the people who maybe don’t want to dive too deep into the technicalities of Tau.

So, we’re having continued discussions about it with Kilian and with Fola and now Majid has joined our team to help us with the technical writing side of things. So, the process is really picking up speed. In general, I’m really excited about what the new year will bring, especially since I know that it will for sure bring the long awaited and well-deserved websites. On which we’ll be able to showcase the branding that we did and reach a wider audience.

Kilian: Hi everybody. This month the search for scientific writers has continued and luckily, we found the right match for the team, which is Majid. Beyond that we have another interesting candidate who also did her PhD under Professor Franconi, but we still need to see whether we can onboard her. At the same time we continued with pitching the project to certain community members and beyond and to also improve the based on what we’ve gotten from those pitches.

So, now the pitch tech has been facing some restructuring and yeah, that’s for the pitchdeck so far. With Karolina and Fola we’ve been working on the website content planning. Also, with Majid now since he’s on board. Beyond that I’ve been working on some smaller tasks like coordinating the video and interview that professor Franconi and Ohad had together with Smitha on her YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfnaQ2y2rxY&t

We also coordinated the Bitcoin.com podcast [https://news.bitcoin.com/tau-chain-founder-ohad-asor-and-prof-franconi-explain-logical-ai-and-how-to-trade-knowledge/\], which took place and was released early this month. Which also is an interview or a podcast episode between Ohad, Professor Franconi and the host Bitcoin.com. I’ve been trying to update the logo on Coinmarketcap on Coingecko for the new Agoras logo.

Community member of the month I’m happy to announce, is SysD for proposing a particular research institute to reach out to and potentially collaborate with. Thank you for that. We’re always very interested in potential allies to collaborate with.

Fola: Thank you very much Kilian. I also want to nominate another community member of the month to Anon. He’s just written his name as Anon, but he’s made some really interesting suggestions for how we can greatly improve our videos community updates. I’d like to pass it on to Majid. He has joined us as our scientific writer.

Majid: Hi everyone. My name is Majid. I’m really glad to join the Tau team and actually this is a great opportunity for me. I’m a PhD candidate in artificial intelligence and most of my previous work was very focused on understanding natural language, but at once I found that knowledge representation and reasoning is really important, and is the basis of the future of artificial intelligence. And I changed my way of working with knowledge representation and reasoning. At once, I faced Kilian and this great opportunity to join your team. I’m so glad.

Fola: Thank you very much Majid. It’s great to have you on board and you’ve already done some really great things, so I’m really looking forward to working with you. You’re definitely a great difference in the team.

From my side again, We are looking to bring on a potential long term sponsored YouTuber in, Smitter. And Kilian and I are working on different sort of models for us to work together in a deeper sense. Whether that’s her creating content for Tau or us sponsoring her videos or just her essentially just working with us just in a much more sort of integrated sense. So, that’s one of the additional things that we can mention for the month.

Alongside bringing on Majid, we’ve also brought another developer in David. He’s not here on this call right now but he’ll be on future calls and can tell you a bit more on a development call about what he’s up to. So, alongside that, I’ve been working on internal structuring, planning for growing the team for 2022 and also our marketing plan for 2022.

Q: Can Tau achieve human-machine-human at the end of 2022?

Karim: Yes. We were just reviewing the development plans just yesterday and the human-machine and human communication by the end of 2022 will only be rudimentary and will not be ready for public release at the end of 2022. But we’re hoping to have a rudimentary version of it internally.

Q: Can you elaborate more about the rules of changing the rules and how Tau deals with the liar’s paradox?

Ohad: The problem with the rules of changing the rules and how they give rise to something like the liar’s paradox is explained in the podcast. I guess this question comes from there. To add things that were not said in the podcast about what the solution looks like, where we have really, we have several problems. We have not only the problem of having a paradox. We also have the problem of how to reason over sentences that contain a reference to truth and self-reference. Avoiding paradoxes is done in two parts.

We need to obstruct logical statements and to certain obstruction in particular that we don’t have access to how the statement is written to the syntax of the statement. Because it was already proved long ago that if we have this access, then we can recover the liar paradox. Another part is that, in any self-referential statements that include the truth predicate, paradoxes will arise. The point is to be able to control the paradox, to know when it arises and to give the user the ability to control it. This will also be achieved as we’ve mapped in our new language the cases that the paradox can possibly arise, then give the user the ability to specify what to do in such a case.

For a simple kind of self-reference, there can be mutual references that end up with self-reference. This is something we didn’t finish yet, but it should take the same form of the simple case. Another important part of the solution and because we found some interesting correspondence between some basic language whatever language it will be. And the same language is enhanced with the ability to speak about sentences in that language. It turns out that if we obstruct enough in the logical statements as we said before, we obstruct them enough to be able to do very basic operations with them. If we obstruct enough, then the two languages look the same with and without the ability to truth about sentences after this obstruction is exactly the same mathematical structure. This mathematical structure is called the Countable Atomless Boolean Algebra. Because of this correspondence, then at this abstraction level we can do the same kind of reasoning we would do with or without sentences that belong to the same logic reference to sentences that belong to the same logic. This will also give rise to the decidability point that I mentioned before.

In summary the paradox doesn’t disappear, but we control the paradox. We are able to control the paradox and we are able to perform other reasoning tasks because our setting is the decidable and our setting is both non paradoxical and the decidable because we perform this kind of obstruction and then look at logics as Countable Atomless Boolean Algebras.

Q: Can you elaborate more about social choice, specifically Arrow’s impossibility theorem and what can Tau do about it?

Ohad: There is a good account for that in the whitepaper. There is a section about social choice. I really recommend that you read that part again. Specifically, how to avoid arrow’s impossibility, arrow’s impossibilities under some assumptions, three assumptions. One of them is that the preference of one option over the other does not depend on the preference of any other option that is unrelated to those two. This is the assumption that it is most reasonable to relax. To say that yes, the order of things can depend on the ordering of other things. And again, this is all explained in the whitepaper.

Q: When can we move the locked Agoras tokens? Any time frame or rough estimate?

Fola: Agoras are meant to be unlocked when the final platform is ready.

Q: Great to see the latest push on interviews and podcasts. I highly enjoy them. Thank you for this. I did notice that thus far the majority of talk was in the technical and philosophical aspect of the protocol. Not so much on the token itself or how it is interwoven into the Tau TML structure. How will the Agoras token be an integral part of the Tauchain for which Fiat or any other token couldn’t suffice in form of payment or working for Towel TML?

Kilian: Well first of all Agoras will be used as the medium of exchange in the knowledge economy based on Tau and to trade formalised knowledge for cash. It will also be the medium of exchange for the computational resources market over Agoras over Tau using Agoras and it will also be the medium of exchange for the derivatives market on top of Agoras. In addition, Agoras is an economy that is basically controlled by its users. So, the economy it says may also change according to consensus over time so there might be even more interesting use cases for the Agoras cryptocurrency over time.

Solana’s transaction speed has been a hot topic ever since the theoretical top speed of 710,000 transactions-per-second was announced in its whitepaper.

Currently, Solana runs at an average of 3000 TPS. These transactions can be separated into failed transactions, successful transactions and further dissected into vote transactions and non-vote transactions.

Solana’s current transactions per second (TPS)

Successful transactions are transactions (including vote and non-vote transactions) that are successfully validated by validators. At SolanaFM, we consider successful transactions as finalized transactions that do not contain any transaction error. At the time of writing, we ascertained that Solana’s average successful TPS is approximately 2500.

Failed transactions are transactions that, of course, are unsuccessful due to the transaction errors.

(More about transaction errors here: https://docs.rs/solana-sdk/1.9.4/solana_sdk/transaction/enum.TransactionError.html)

At the time of writing, we ascertained that Solana’s average failed TPS is approximately 438.

We can confirm that the ratio of successful to failed transactions is approximately 5 to 1. However, how many of these transactions are vote or non vote transactions?

Vote transactions are transactions that involve a voting account (which is owned by a validator node). Vote transactions involve configuration, registration, vote collection and new vote signing.

(Read more about vote transactions here: https://docs.solana.com/cluster/vote-signing#validator-voting)

These transactions are critical to secure the network and the heart of the Solana ecosystem.

Non-vote transactions involve transactions that do not interact with the vote program (Program Address: Vote111111111111111111111111111111111111111). These include transactions that interact with the Dapps built on Solana. At the time of writing, Solana’s average Non-Vote TPS is 759.

The ratio of Non-Vote to Vote Transactions as of 1 Jan 2022 is approximately 3 to 1. Hence, accordingly, 3/4 of Solana’s transactions are vote transactions.

In conclusion, the Transactions Per Second (TPS) tool of measurement in Solana involves several variables that are often overlooked by the general public. At SolanaFM, we dissected this tool of measurement and provided more detailed aspects of the transactions itself, providing you with specific metrics to scrupulously analyze Solana’s transactions in order to integrate it with your dapps or for your own analysis.

Track these metrics here: https://solana.fm/dashboards/transactions

A few interesting updates and changes to my Top 15 list. My thoughts below on some new valuation data and a “solvency ratio” I’m working on.

Thanks for the great participation in a recent Twitter poll I ran to add some new rebase tokens to my Top 15 list! It was a back-and-forth battle between OtterClam & Fortress DAO and while $CLAM wound up winning in the end, it was so close that I decided to make room for both of them. Kudos to the communities for these projects!

I now added a new column called “% Return after Runway (Assuming $1).” This shows what your % returns would be assuming the following facts:

· Minting/Bonding halted

· 100% of circulating supply is staked

· The price of the underlying token crashes all the way to $1

· The treasury would be able to buy back any and all tokens to cement a $1 price floor

· The current APY stays constant through the end of the current runway.

Now these assumptions I make in this calculation are rather bold. For one thing, Treasury value isn’t accounted for at all, which plays a major factor in just how close to $1 these tokens would reasonably get. I do not foresee tokens such as $OHM and $TIME with their gigantic treasuries to ever fall even remotely close to $1 each. On the other hand, I would also say that guaranteeing that one dollar would be available for each outstanding token is another bold assumption, which leads me to my next analysis point.

While I still want some more nerds to double-check my math here before I display it, I ran a calculation that takes the total circulating supply for a given rebase token at the end of the current runway with the current APY. Then I assume a worst case scenario of $1 token price, which would mean that Liquidity Pools would crash from their current levels so that one pair of stablecoin and rebase token would be valued at $2. Then I add up all the liquidity and risk-free value into a total dollar value and see what the ratio is from that number to all circulating tokens at the end of the runway.

Spoiler alert: Only 3 of the 15 tokens on my list would be solvent and scarily enough, 4 of the 15 tokens wouldn’t even be able to cover 50 cents for every outstanding rebase token. While I know this might induce some panic, I do not think there is a lot to worry about because of the treasuries and depth of liquidity many of these tokens have. Even if we assume a conservative 30% Market Cap/Treasury Value ratio on any given token, the LPs would be deep enough to make most of them solvent. Still, it is extremely dangerous to assume that $1 is a rock solid floor on these projects in a total market meltdown.

As a reminder, the Bludex Score takes into account multiple metrics including valuation, treasury strategy, innovation potential, and risk. Another reminder is that liquidity pools are not taken into account for the RFV. Some thoughts on a few tokens that are catching my eye:

Squid. Don’t be shocked by the last column. $SQUID is really unique in the fact that there are only a couple hundred tokens in existence and they go for a pretty penny. The chance of $SQUID dropping to $1 is zilch considering there are only a couple hundred tokens in existence and they are backed by one ETH. $SQUID still trades at an attractive valuation, is one of the only rebase tokens with non-inflationary treasury growth and a solid treasury strategy.

Wonderland. While the valuation ratio here is still rather high, I’m actually still incredibly bullish on Wonderland. Much of the value of these rebase tokens come from expected future buying pressure and I think we will see more inflows into $TIME than any token on this list. They recently allocated a large amount of their treasury into the UST/Anchor looping strategy, which is a “somewhat safe” ~100% APR on stablecoins. This is by far my biggest bag in the rebase token space.

Fantohm. $FHM has had some very positive price action today. While I’m still trying to wrap my head around the utility of their $FHUD token, their high APY combined with their valuation and long runway make this a very interesting play.

Spartacus. The most beaten and bloodied token on the list. If they were trading closer to their MC/RFV ratio, I would probably exit, but right now the deal is just too sweet to pass up. This appears to be in way oversold territory as they have a somewhat large treasury and extremely safe yield.

Fortress. Fortress has returned, and they are trading at a pretty solid discount with a pretty safe runway and yield.

Papa. While the runway is short and the APY is decreasing as each day goes by, the recent buybacks and proximity to that $1 floor appear to make this a potentially lucrative play. I am eagerly awaiting some progress on their dashboards, especially with their displayed runway so I can bump up some of their metrics.

Otterclam. I must say, I’m impressed with how this community came through in my recent twitter poll. Their interface, NFT rewards, bonding options, etc. make them a simple and enjoyable rebase token with an exceptionally high yield. My only qualm is the current valuation ratio and short runway could make this a bit of a volatile play.

Rome. I think the potential for gamified rebase tokens is absolutely massive and Rome seems to be leading the charge here. I love what they’re doing and the hype is real, but the valuation ratios are absolutely terrifying to me. I need to dig more into how the gamification here could reduce some of the risk.

As always, please feel free to leave any feedback and questions on Twitter (@gsg0127) or here on Medium. I don’t pretend to be perfect and am always looking to learn and engage with the community. If you see something that doesn’t look right, or that there might be some facts I’m overlooking in a project, please feel free to bring it up.

Wishing you and your families a safe, healthy, and prosperous new year!

~Bludex

Disclosures: Nothing in this article should be considered financial advice. I hold $SQUID, $TIME, $FHM, $OHM, $SPA, and $PAPA.
