This includes productions for different genres (electronic, pop, indie, latin & more) by different aliases created by me, Balo. I was having a hard time trying to work with vocalists for my own electronic project, and at the same time I made cool songs that didn’t fit the main vibe of my electronic project. Therefore I said to myself “Fuck it, why don’t you start singing?” and here we are now with different Balos. Here are some of my own “characters” at the moment:

Balo

“Balo” is the first project that started this universe. I started working on electronic music from the beginning and I’m still very passionate about the genre and the style I’ve created. “Balo” shares an indie electronic sound with dancy, unique elements. The next release for this project is called “Like Magic” which has some disco pop sounds and will be released using web3 with a Mirror crowdfund coming very soon. More songs under the “Balo” project have most of the production ready but vocalists are needed for collaborations and songwriting is missing as well. Several of small remixes within this project are shared on my TikTok (@balomusic) and I enjoy flipping and making some fun beats over there!

balothethird

I sang for the first time for a project of Louis Bell’s production and songwriting course and that’s where “balothethird” was born. Balothethird is a bedroom pop project inspired by artists like Still Woozy and Grady. The first single “All on You” was released on October 28th, 2021 to inaugurate the project. Balothethird will now continue its journey with this collaboration with Balo to release ‘Like Magic’. A whole EP is planned to be released for “balothethird” which is in its early stages.

FLAKO STIK

FLAKO STIK is another project living inside the Baloverse. This project is fully focused on tech house songs. Its first single ‘SWOLLEN EGG’ is out on every DSP, the song is a fun house song with vocals in Spanish. FLAKO STIK has more short remixes on Balo’s TikTok (@balomusic). Many DJ sets will be coming up with this project to hit those late dance hours!

Formai

I was raised in Mexico, latin music has been everywhere growing up. Reggaeton has been a big influence these past years of my life because if you go out and party in Mexico… reggaeton will be playing out loud! One day I was drinking with my roommate and a big friend at my apartment in Austin. We were making some beats and out of fun we made a reggaeton song called “El Camaron” (The Shrimp). “Formai” was now born. We had some fun writing “double entendre” lyrics and shared a demo with our friends. Everyone loved it! So who knows, maybe el Formai might have some releases in the future!

guysinyourhead

The next, biggest, and most exciting project inside the Baloverse (at least for me) is “guysinyourhead”. This indie synth/funky project was born in February 2020 after experimenting with old, classic synthesizers. “Guysinyourhead” is inspired by artists like Tame Impala, Parcels, Dayglow and more. A whole album record is currently at the works with around 50% of its completion. Around 13 demos are finished, but most still need songwriting and vocal/guitar recordings to be made. This project will also be funded via Mirror and the first single is hopefully planned to be released in the first quarter of 2022.

https://instagram.com/balothethird?utm_medium=copy_link

https://twitter.com/Balomusic
