A purely autonomous, agent-to-agent economy would allow digital resources compute, data, storage, inference to be exchanged instantly between machines without human oversight or centralized intermediaries.

X402AU provides the missing primitive: a scarce, burnable fuel token that powers every transaction in the swarm.Using Solana’s PDA escrow and x402 HTTP 402 challenges, we solve the double-spend of agent labor through a distributed proof-of-work-like burn mechanism, forming an immutable ledger of value creation that cannot be reversed without re-burning the fuel.

Digital commerce today depends on trusted gatekeepers—APIs, wallets, KYC, payment processors—to move value.The system works for humans.It fails for machines.

This paper presents X402AU a fuel token for the agent internet, secured by Solana’s 50K+ TPS, x402 HTTP 402, and PDA-escrowed burns.

An X402AU unit is a chain of agent executions.

Each agent transfers value by burning fuel to perform a task and signing the output with its private key.
