What Exactly is Vibe Coding?

The term is new, but the vibe is not. With vibe coding, we mean using a software development technique where we use artificial intelligence and large language models to generate code from language prompts.

A term that was popularised in early 2025 by AI researcher Andrej Karpathy, where he described a workflow where the developer's role shifts from writing code line-by-line to guiding an AI assistant through a conversational process. Literally breaking down barriers.

Coders can describe their goal in plain English, such as "create a front-end application for Bitfinity" or "draw me as one of your Bitcoin applications" and the AI handles the rest. Of course, it doesn't end here; the 'vibe coder' tests the output, provides feedback, and refines the AI output by simply telling it what to change.

Perfect for Non-Technical Builders

We all see why this is revolutionary, because before now, all the learning and technical barriers formed quite a big challenge. It was a time where you couldn't bring your idea or brainchild to life unless you first invested months, or even years, in learning software and, in some cases, blockchain development. This is where vibe coding shatters the ways of the old.

Now, you can simply tell an AI what you want to build and, by providing enough context and clear guidance, you can have the on-chain application you've envisioned in your mind's eye.

A new generation where it will be a no-code environment, or at least where non-technical developers can have a fairer chance to move from idea to prototype and MVP.

Tools to Start Vibe Coding With

The reason why this is interesting for us and how we can translate it to Bitfinity-related applications is that we can get help with developing a clean and beautiful user interface (UI) that will make the difference. But first, we need to understand what tools are available.

The platforms described below are your go-to resources for translating visual ideas into functional, beautiful front-ends. They specialise in generating the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript code that forms the user-facing part of your application. Further research is necessary.

Lovable

Lovable, which is an AI that builds apps for non-technical people. You can simply describe your app idea in natural language on the Lovable website, and the AI agent can generate the necessary front-end code.

Bolt

Another application, and a product from StackBlitz ready to get you to the next vibing level, is Bolt, where the AI web development agent is capable of building a full-stack application from a single, descriptive prompt.

Bolt aims to generate the front-end, back-end, and database logic all at once. This eliminates the need for any local setup, and you can go directly from idea to a live, shareable prototype entirely in the cloud. You can try it for yourself at Bolt.

v0

Finally, the last one to fill the row of tools is v0m an AI-powered tool designed to generate user interfaces from simple text and image prompts. You can start a conversation with the AI and describe the component or page you want to build. The tool then generates production-ready code using React and Tailwind CSS, which you can copy and paste directly into your project.

What Tools Can Help You Build Smart Contracts and Integrations?

While you can vibe code and try to create visual designs or front-end applications, other vibe coding tools are masters of the back-end and specialise in the logic of smart contracts and more complex integrations.

We take a look at some of the leading AI assistants for smart contracts and back-end infrastructure that can be used for your on-chain project and help you with smart contracts, debugging, explaining, and even teaching you technical concepts.

Cursor

The first one on this list is Cursor, which is a downloadable, AI-first code editor that allows you to "chat" with your entire codebase. You can ask it to refactor code across multiple files and generate new features from a simple prompt.

The app lets you create complex projects and could help you with building the infrastructure and back-end of the app. For creating smart contracts, we recommend the following.

GitHub Copilot

As the original "AI pair programmer", GitHub Copilot integrates directly into your favourite code editor (like VS Code) to provide real-time code suggestions as you type. It can help you navigate libraries and frameworks, which makes it an indispensable assistant for coding smart contracts.

Replit

Replit is a cloud-based coding platform with an AI assistant that helps you write, run, and deploy code directly from your browser.

The platform's AI consists of the Replit Agent and the in-editor Assistant, which can be used to write smart contracts and back-end code.

Claude and ChatGPT as advisory Assistants

You can always use Claude (OPUS) or ChatGPT, which are the most famous ones, and are more supportive in secondary windows than using them solely for developing.

You can use them independently without using the ones we described above, or you can use them as support if you have questions and you do not want to interfere with your code while vibe coding.

We see that these LLMs have been trained on vast amounts of code and blockchain documentation and can let you vibe-code Solidity contracts, integrate APIs, and debug efficiently.

A Critical Warning on Smart Contract Security

But with great power comes great responsibility. The same law applies in the world of blockchain, where one vulnerability can cause a contract to collapse like a house of cards, leading to devastating losses. While back in the day, Solidity engineers focused mostly on building and architecture, the focus now must be relentlessly on security and back-testing before deployment.

How Can You Start Vibe Coding Your MVP on Bitfinity?

Now that you're armed with the essential knowledge and know where to go, it's time to build! Bitfinity is an ideal platform for your first vibe-coded project. It functions as a high-speed Bitcoin sidechain but with a game-changing feature: it's fully EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible.

This means you can build on the Bitcoin ecosystem using the widely-known Solidity language and the AI tools mentioned above.

As we saw in a poll, the biggest reason not many have built on-chain applications is bad tooling.

What Will You Vibe Code on Bitfinity?

The barrier to entry for building beautiful and useful on-chain applications keeps getting lower every day, all thanks to vibe coding. You are now armed with everything you need to spin up the prototype of that product you've always wanted to build.

So, what will it be? A new DeFi protocol, a dynamic NFT marketplace, or a decentralised social network? The tools are at your fingertips, and the Bitfinity platform is ready for your creation.

Yesterday, the new SEC Chair Paul Atkins gave a speech that delivered what was probably the single most bullish statement made by a U.S. regulator.

The tl;dr? The SEC wants to move America’s financial markets onchain.

In his announcement, Atkins specifically points to five things he wants the SEC to do for the crypto industry, in order to pursue that end:

Onshoring Crypto: Allow token issuance and crypto capital formation to happen in onshore LLCs rather than convoluted ‘Foundations’

Self-Custody + Maximizing Custody Provider Choice: Basically a full end to Chokepoint 2.0; allow the market to choose who can custody crypto, including the individual.

Reducing Licensing Burdens: Allow a more simple registration process so that more competition can come into the market. A single permissive license to rule them all?

Welcoming Service Providers Onchain: Allow onchain software – centralized and decentralized alike – to be leveraged by centralized services.

Allowing Startup Experimentation: Provide a regulatory sandbox for startups to build and issue tokens.

Each one of these topics could warrant an entire discussion by themselves, and frankly more clarity here would be welcome (Paul Atkins on the podcast soon?).

When you read Atkins' introduction to this latest statement, he emphasizes the costs when the regulations and technology around markets lags behind modern demands. He discusses how the pre-electronification of financial markets led to a disaster in market confidence because antiquated technology could not keep up with the market.

“In the 1960s…—Wall Street was riding a bull market. But behind the scenes, our market machinery was straining to keep up….Rising stacks of paper stock certificates had to be physically delivered by clerks wheeling carts up and down Wall Street and in other financial districts all across America… The breakdown over an antiquated system was described by the SEC chairman at the time as ‘the most prolonged and severe crisis in the securities industry in 40 years…’”

Why is Chair Atkins including this historical anecdote? In my opinion, it's because he wants to emphasize the importance of proactively, rather than reactively, getting America’s financial markets upgraded into the blockchain technology era.

Paul later adds explicitly:

“To achieve President Trump’s vision of making America the crypto capital of the world, the SEC must holistically consider the potential benefits and risks of moving our markets from an off-chain environment to an on-chain one.”

Paul Atkins wants to put America’s Financial Markets onchain.

But which chain??

Paul and the SEC have no bias toward particular chains in the statement. From the perspective of the SEC, which chain benefits from America’s financial markets moving onchain is up to the market.

So, what does the market want?

I’ll make a few claims here:

The incredibly successful

<img

Bitcoin adoption in social media is driven not only by the giant Bitcoin’s brand trust and its network effects that go to the highest levels of society.

In a way centralized platforms face rising criticism over content moderation, user (shadow) bans, and opaque rules around many controversial subjects. It is maybe therefore that the integration of Bitcoin aligns platforms with a more decentralized and user empowerment position, as an alternative to the “walled gardens” of Web2.

When it comes to ‘free speech’, with many saying that it is an extension of ‘free code’. Bitcoin allows anyone, anywhere, to participate in microeconomics, and back their beliefs. Which is good for content creators and audiences in restrictive jurisdictions, as Bitcoin-based payments avoid third-party blockades and provide a way to get paid for what you are doing or sharing.

It could be by integrating Bitcoin or its principles, these social media platforms enable direct P2P financial flows. A way to reduce platform operational burdens tied to fiat rails (e.g., chargebacks, payment provider relationships), and such...

Social Media Platform-Specific Analysis

When we take a look at the biggest social media platforms that use anything related to Bitcoin's ethos, we can understand that the four main ones are doing it this way.👇

Nostr

Nostr is an open-source framework for decentralized social networks. Anyone can launch their own client and relay. It was developed in 2021 by a group of cypherpunks, and was designed as a social protocol that cannot be censored or controlled by a single entity.

It is a minimalist protocol for relaying events such as posts, messages, and updates. Each user controls their identity through cryptographic keys. Similar to keeping your own wallet.

Nostr's core community consists of privacy advocates, Bitcoiners, developers, and individuals who have been de-platformed or who seek real censorship resistance.

Bluesky

On the other hand, Bluesky is a relatively new social media network developed and promoted by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. It was incubated within Twitter in 2019 by then-CEO Dorsey.

Bluesky was initiated to move social media away from centralized corporate control toward a decentralized "protocol layer," similar to email or the web, where anyone could build their own service on top. This also sounds very familiar, doesn't it?

Bluesky prioritizes user autonomy and data portability. Previously available by invitation only, it has now opened to the general public.

At the White House today, the first major piece of U.S. crypto legislation was signed into law: the GENIUS Act (Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins Act). It provides clear rules for stablecoins and recently passed both the Senate and House of Representatives with broad bipartisan support. This is a historic moment — not just for crypto, but for the world at large. That’s because stablecoins give us something we’ve never really had before: open money infrastructure.

Stablecoins are a better form of money: faster, cheaper, and more global. They cut fees and eliminate intermediaries. They are auditable and programmable. They allow developers to build new kinds of apps that weren’t possible before: low-to-no cost remittances, programmatic micropayments, AI-native transactions, transparent and disintermediated global commerce, and more.

Stablecoins give the world access to the dollar, they spread financial freedom, and they ensure that the next generation of financial infrastructure is built on U.S. standards.

For too long, innovators in crypto have operated under legal uncertainty. That uncertainty has stifled progress, driven builders offshore, and created a fragmented internet. The GENIUS Act reverses this: It creates clarity for stablecoins and sets us on a path toward broader crypto market structure reforms.

This is how the internet moves forward: through clear rule-making. With the GENIUS Act, stablecoins have clear rules, paving the way for better payments, financial products, and an overhaul of the global financial system.

Next, we need the same for the rest of the crypto market. The Senate can do this by passing the CLARITY Act, which provides clear rules of the road for the broader crypto industry, opening a path for innovators while also protecting consumers from scams and bad actors.

We believe that the U.S. can lead the next era of the internet — the read-write-own era — by enabling open, user-owned protocols instead of the closed, corporate platforms that defined the last one. This legislation lays the foundation for that future. It’s the beginning of a new chapter.

***
