Starting at Epoch 67, our protocol is transitioning to a Controlled Emissions Model. Instead of emissions fluctuating based on veNFT voting weight relative to circulating supply, weekly emissions will now decrease by a fixed 1% each epoch. This is a deliberate, community-aligned step toward long-term sustainability designed to tame inflation, strengthen the fee-to-emissions ratio, and reward genuine, long-term participation in the ecosystem.

We're genuinely excited about this milestone, and we want to walk you through exactly what's changing, why it matters, and what it means for you as a liquidity provider, veNFT holder, or trader.

Where We've Been

Since launch, our ve(3,3) model has done exactly what it was designed to do: bootstrap deep liquidity, align incentives between voters and liquidity providers, and create a flywheel where protocol emissions attract TVL, TVL generates fees, and fees flow back to those who lock and vote.

That flywheel has worked. But like every emissions-driven DEX in this design space, we've watched the broader ve(3,3) ecosystem grapple with the same structural question:

How do you keep emissions sustainable over the long run, without starving growth in the short run?

Uncontrolled or purely supply-linked emissions schedules can create unpredictable inflation, dilute veNFT holders who are committed for the long haul, and if left unchecked, it will erode the very token value that emissions are supposed to be reinforcing. We've seen this play out across the space, and we've listened closely to community feedback and the broader lessons learned by other protocols who have walked this road before us.

The result of that reflection is the Controlled Emissions Model.

What's Changing at Epoch 67

Beginning at Epoch 67, weekly emissions will no longer be governed solely by the prior variable-supply mechanics. Instead, they will follow a predictable, protocol-enforced decay schedule:

• Weekly emissions decrease by 1% each epoch, compounding epoch over epoch.

• The decay is automatic and deterministic. No governance vote is required epoch-to-epoch to enforce it.

• Emissions will continue to flow to gauges based on veNFT voting weight, exactly as before

• There is no cliff, no sudden shock, this is a smooth, gradual glide path, designed to give LPs, voters, and integrators ample time to plan and adjust.

In simple terms: the mechanism for distributing emissions to pools via votes stays the same. What changes is that the size of the weekly emissions pie now shrinks by a small, predictable, and transparent amount every single epoch, 1%, week after week.

Why This Matters: The Case for Controlled Decay

1. Taming Inflation, By Design

Every emission is, functionally, new supply entering circulation. A perpetual or reflexive emissions schedule can create runaway inflation during periods of high voting incentives, diluting holders and putting persistent sell pressure on the token. A fixed weekly decay puts a hard ceiling on the rate of inflation growth and ensures that, over time, emissions naturally trend toward a sustainable equilibrium without requiring reactive governance intervention every time market conditions shift.

2. A Healthier Fee-to-Emissions Ratio

One of the clearest signals of a maturing ve(3,3) protocol is the ratio between fees generated and emissions distributed. When emissions vastly outweigh fees, the protocol is essentially subsidizing liquidity rather than earning it. As emissions taper down predictably, fee revenue becomes a proportionally larger share of veNFT holder rewards, meaning voters are increasingly rewarded by real trading activity on the platform, not just token inflation. This is the hallmark of sustainable protocol economics, and it's a milestone every ve(3,3) DEX should be working toward.

3. Predictability for Long-Term Alignment

Locking into a veNFT is a bet on the future of the protocol. That bet deserves a predictable emissions curve. With controlled 1% weekly decay:

• LPs can model expected rewards epoch by epoch with confidence.

• veNFT holders can forecast their voting power's relative influence over time as total emissions decline.

• Integrators, aggregators, and treasury managers get a deterministic schedule they can build strategies around, rather than reacting to unpredictable swings.

Predictability is not just a convenience. It is a form of respect for the people who have chosen to lock their tokens and commit to governance.

4. Rewarding Conviction, Not Just Timing

A decaying emissions schedule naturally shifts more relative value toward early, long-term participants and toward fee-generating pools rather than purely emissions-chasing behavior. This reinforces the core thesis of ve(3,3): that governance power and rewards should accrue to those who are genuinely committed to the protocol's success, not just those farming the highest APR of the week.

What This Means for You

If you're a Liquidity Provider (LP): Emissions to your gauge will continue exactly as before, driven by veNFT votes — but the overall emissions pool will decline gradually by 1% per epoch. We'd encourage LPs to increasingly evaluate pool health through the lens of fee generation, not emissions APR alone, as this becomes a larger share of total returns over time.

If you're a veNFT Holder / Voter: Your voting power and bribe/incentive dynamics remain unchanged in mechanism. What changes is the total emissions being distributed each epoch — meaning your relative share of governance influence, and the fee/rebase rewards you accrue, become an increasingly meaningful part of your total return.

If you're a Trader: Expect continued deep liquidity across gauges, with the added benefit of a protocol that is actively managing its token economics for long-term health — which is good news for the token you're trading against.

If you're an Integrator or Builder: The 1% weekly decay is deterministic and on-chain. You can model exact emissions for any future epoch using a simple compounding formula, making it straightforward to integrate into dashboards, analytics, or strategy vaults.

The Math, Simplified

For those who want the mechanics: if E(n) represents emissions at epoch n, then:

E(67) = Base Emissions (starting point)
E(n+1) = E(n) × 0.99   for every epoch after 67

This is a geometric decay, meaning emissions never hit zero abruptly, but instead approach a long-term equilibrium asymptotically, giving the protocol a smooth, sustainable emissions tail rather than a hard stop.

JIT Protection in practice

Often times bots will use the JIT technique to farm token emissions (plus any trading fees) with almost zero risk by adding concentrated liquidity right before a large trade to instantly qualify for a share of the epochs emissions, capture the fees, and then immediately remove the liquidity to avoid impermanent loss or volatility. While this behavior can create inefficiencies for long-term liquidity providers, it also highlights the need for systems that better align incentives across all participants.

Blackhole’s upgraded pools are designed with that goal in mind. By introducing a minimum hold duration for liquidity positions, the protocol helps ensure that rewards flow to LPs who commit capital over time, rather than to fleeting positions that appear only around specific transactions. This creates a fairer and more durable framework for liquidity provision. The wait time for pools will be set to a minimum of 30 seconds for LPers starting off, but will be configurable as needed.

Why this matters

The aim is not simply to prevent opportunistic behavior, but to preserve the conditions that make concentrated liquidity markets healthy in the first place. Stronger protections help maintain a more balanced playing field, support sustained liquidity depth, and reinforce confidence among traders, LPs, and projects alike.

For long-term LPs, this means greater assurance that their participation is protected by design. For traders, it means access to deeper and more stable pools. For the broader ecosystem, it means an infrastructure that is built to evolve without compromising its core principles.

A Phased Transition

As these upgrades are introduced, liquidity positions will need to migrate to the new pools over time. The rollout is intentionally gradual, allowing the ecosystem to adapt smoothly while preserving continuity for LPs and projects.

Emissions on the new pools will closely track what would have been allocated to the retired pools, helping maintain a seamless transition period. High-impact pools are being prioritized first, and the new gauges will be bootstrapped with JIT protection and dynamic fee logic to support a more adaptive market structure.

This is more than a technical enhancement. It is part of a broader commitment to building a protocol that can withstand changing market conditions while continuing to serve the people who rely on it. By improving how liquidity is protected and rewarded, Blackhole is setting a higher standard for CLMM design.

Warp Speed is supplementary to the Supernova airdrop that all Supermassive holders will receive at launch. Warp Speed specifically amplifies rewards for those who are actively contributing to Blackhole's protocol health during Supernova's pre‑launch phase.

How Nova Points Work

Warp Speed introduces Nova Points as the campaign’s accounting layer. Nova Points are not tokens; they are a scoring system used to allocate veNOVA once Supernova is live.

You can earn Nova Points in two primary ways:

1. Burning BLACK to mint or increase Supermassive veNFTs

   Every 1 BLACK burned to create or increase a Supermassive veNFT earns 1 Nova Point. This permanently reduces BLACK supply while increasing your long‑term exposure to Blackhole and aligning you with the ve(3,3) model.

2. Earning BLACK emissions from eligible LP pools on Blackhole

Every 1 BLACK emission you earn from Nova‑eligible liquidity pools grants 1 Nova Point. Only pools explicitly marked as “Nova Points Eligible” will count.

In short: both actions are rewarded in a way that directly ties into Supernova’s launch. Nova Points earned are in addition to any other benefits that accrue from these actions from on-going rewards or programs such as emissions for liquidity provisioning or Escape Velocity for Supermassives.

A dedicated Dune dashboard will provide an overview of each participant’s Nova Points standings, similar to the Escape Velocity seasons. Users can access it directly from the campaign banner, and all data is refreshed every 6 hours to keep rankings up to date.

The leaderboard is sorted in descending order by total Nova Points and includes the following columns:

• Rank

• Beneficiary (Participant wallet address)

• Total Nova Points accumulated

• BLACK Burned

How to Get Involved

Burn BLACK to create or grow a Supermassive veNFT to start accruing Nova Points. Provide liquidity to Nova‑eligible pools and earn BLACK emissions, while stacking up even more Nova points. Look for the purple Supernova icon on the Liquidity page to identify eligible pools:

Nova Points start from the launch date of Warp Speed. Unclaimed emissions do not earn Nova Points. Emissions from Liquidity Pools that are not eligible do not earn Nova Points.

Season 4 Recap

Season 4 was a landmark chapter in the Escape Velocity journey. Season 4 concluded with a remarkable total of 25,870,153 BLACK tokens burned. Within just the first week from October 30th to November 6th we saw an extraordinary burn of 11,900,000 BLACK tokens.

Community participation was exceptionally strong, with 842 eligible wallets contributing. NFT activity was equally impressive, with 1,212 locks in total, split between 630 new users and 582 returning enthusiasts.

The rules for the Escape Velocity Program from Season 3 have been revised. Rebates will exclusively apply to Supermassive locks from this season onwards.

Season 2 Wrap-up

Season 2 has wrapped up with an outstanding turnout. Participants collectively burned 14,531,233 $BLACK and created an impressive 16,644,865 veBLACK! Every eligible wallet will receive its portion of the Season 2 rebate pool, which totals 10,000,288 veBLACK.

Out of 972 eligible wallets that took part, 287 were brand new wallets, while the remaining 685 were seasoned holders who qualified by either extending or boosting their existing locks. Altogether, participants created 1,366 new locks this season.

Supermassive locks dominated the scene with 1,104 created, compared to 262 Singularity locks. Meanwhile, among existing positions, 860 wallets increased the amount of BLACK they locked, and 19 chose to extend their lock duration.

Season 1 has just concluded with incredible participation, resulting in a total of 17,711,561 veBLACK created by eligible participants!

Out of 1,003 eligible participating wallets, 343 were new wallets, while 660 existing wallets qualified by either extending or increasing their lock positions. All together, participants created 1,225 new locks. Notably, Supermassive locks were by far the most popular, with a total of 1,614 versus 123 Singularity locks. Among existing locks, 748 increased the amount of locked BLACK and 12 had their lock durations extended.

Season 2 Launch

Building on the overwhelming success of Season 1, we are thrilled to announce the launch of Escape Velocity Season 2.. We are doubling down on our commitment to accelerate decentralization and incentivize locking by increasing the veBLACK rebates pool from 6 million to 10 million veBLACK for this season.

The rules for the Escape Velocity Program remain the same as for the previous season:

• A Singularity lock with 100,000 BLACK locked for 1 year has 24,450 veBLACK.

• A Supermassive lock with the same 100,000 BLACK provides 110,000 veBLACK.
