Depression has eaten deep into our society today and that's because we allow it. People often get depressed just because they feel they meant to be in some certain position or should have made "specific achievements" and they feel because they are not in that position yet, they are a failure. No! that's not the case you are what you "think". Everyone has a time and the earlier you realize that you wouldn't even get depressed from things that would get you depressed like before. Depression among our generation arise when we are pressured as a result of other people's achievements or the kind of lifestyle we see them living, and we feel unfulfilled and "not enough" for ourselves. Slow and steady wins the race, most of the people we envy now and feel pressured by their wins or achievements also once had their dark moments but they were consistent and intentional about their goals and that made them have those "wins" you get pressured by which leads to depression for you in the long run. Success doesn't always come easy, it's always the addition preparation, consistency and hard work. Never give up on your dreams Anon. Keep fighting!. You've got this!

Depression and suicide are like jolly friends, chronic depression often leads to suicide and that's why the risk of suicide among patients with untreated depressive disorder is nearly 20%. Dear Anon, you matter, you are trying your best, don't end your own life, always trust the process and you will surely "win" in the end. Smile and say "I got this!".

If you are reading this and you are battling depression in one way or the other, I am no therapist but i would suggest to you some things to do which I feel will help you manage depression and get out of it in no time hopefully.

Speak up about it to someone - there's always that one person you can tell anything and everything to, open up to such a person about what you are going through, that would help your feel mind feel lighter and such person might give you advices that would help you to manage it best too perhaps.

Stay off social media - a larger percentage of people who are depressed now are in that state because they are intimidated by the lifestyle they see their friends put on SM, don't be pressured Anon, only few of this lifestyles are real, a very few live their reality on SM. However take some time off SM if you are in that depression phase already.

Find new Hobbies - Might be reading books, acquiring new skill or basically discovering a new talent of yours, just find something new doing so you don't ever have a time to broad.

Focus on new ways to be better - it might be registering for gym sessions, upgrading your skills and just anything you can do to be a better version of yourself.

Learn from past mistakes - Obviously, in one way or the other, we all took some wrong steps at one point or the other and we know them, look back and make sure you don't repeat them, we all know what's right except we want to pretend.

Go out if you can - Don't be lonely and indoors all the time, sometime just take a random stroll, go to a park or something, just go out and feel some cool breeze.

I hope this helps. SAFE GUYS.
