Different blockchain platforms, a multitude of token types, and chain-specific bridges - all these elements can complicate the user experience. Enter BRIDGETTE, bridging the blockchain gap, decoding complex chains into one simple experience. In the following article, we'll go into the features that comprise the Bridgette Protocol, both the ones that are live on our website and the ones that we're currently working on developing.

Live Features:

Aggregation Protocol: For crypto aficionados and beginners alike, the vast number of cross-chain bridges available today can be overwhelming. Currently, users need to explore various resources to find specific asset and chain pairs, each with unique characteristics like transaction fees, speed, security, and user experience. Tackling this challenge, Bridgette Protocol streamlines these options into one unified user interface, providing a smoother and faster experience.

Thanks to its sophisticated design, Bridgette Protocol identifies the best available teleporting routes across bridges, considering factors such as the liquidity of pools, processing speed, and transaction fee rates. More than just accommodating Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains, it is made with an expansive vision of accommodating non-EVM chains in the future.

Gas Pump: Teleporting your tokens can make you feel like a cryptonaut in space. Each teleportation journey with Bridgette's Gas Pump gives new users native tokens on their chosen destiny chain, thus creating the 'gas' for new transactions and enabling the usage of newly bridged tokens. Note: while you receive 'gas' when sending from Ethereum, please understand that no gas would be received when sending to Ethereum.

Fiat Onramp: The Bridgette Protocol makes it easy for users to transition from fiat currencies to cryptocurrencies. This 'on-ramp' solution equips users with an efficient and straightforward method for exchanging traditional fiat currency for digital treasure, unleashing countless cryptoverses' explorations.

Unlimited Liquidity: By aggregating the liquidity of any bridge, Bridgette creates an ocean of liquidity that users can access without worrying about any slippage. It's like having a magic wand that allows users to bridge any amount, anytime.

Cross-Chain Teleportation: Transferring tokens from one chain to another with Bridgette feels like teleporting in a sci-fi movie. All you need to do is send a transaction to the router contract on the initial chain. Bridgette scans for new transactions sent to specific pools, obtains relevant data from the transactions, and redeems the tokens to the user's wallet on the chosen chain. If a teleport fails during a set timeframe (10–20 minutes), users will be fully reimbursed on the initial chain.

Approvals Feature: In the realm of token swaps, the 'Approvals' feature stands like a warrior shield. It allows users to inspect which tokens they've allowed on all aggregated bridges and instantly revoke any of them. This feature serves as a significant tool to prevent token exploits during unfortunate instances of bridge hacks.

Coming Soon:

NFT Bridging: Bridgette will tap into the booming Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) market, which is hampered by the lack of standardization across different blockchain networks. Through Bridgette's NFT bridging feature, users will effortlessly transfer their NFTs across platforms or marketplaces, providing better exposure, price stability and accessibility for prized digital collectibles.

Project Integration Widget: Bridgette Protocol will offer a custom widget to easily integrate into any project's website, enabling its users to teleport instantly, much like a travel passport with an intergalactic visa.

Security: Every teleport on Bridgette relies on the underlying chain's security. Bridgette Protocol robustly supplements it with features like 'Approvals', regular use of advanced auditing tools, a multi-signature vault for reimbursement during unlikely hacks, thereby ensuring a secure pathway for token swaps on the platform.

Parts: Bridgette's visual interface is designed to provide users a simple yet effective interaction with the protocol. To prevent excess visual clutter, a major part of the heavy lifting is done by background elements, contributing to a fluid, clutter-free experience.

Simplified Project Creation: Bridgette will introduce the first self-listing tool for projects, allowing for the deployment of non-security tokens on other chains without any coding expertise. It simplifies and automates the process of listing tokens, freeing project owners from the burdens of setting up infrastructure and continually maintaining it.

Navigating the cryptoverse has never been easier. With Bridgette Protocol, harness the power of blockchain in a unified, secure, and user-friendly platform. Welcome to the bridge of all bridges, welcome to Bridgette!

In this piece, we will be presenting the start of a journey that spans across multiple disciplines.

First, who is “we”? The team behind Bridgette is made up of diverse crypto natives that have been working on multiple parts of the industry for 7 years. From business to programming, each one of us has been building in their own way. We have now come together with one simple mission.

Bridgette was initially conceived as a way for users to instantly teleport their tokens to any EVM compatible chain. However, after plenty iterations we have come to the realization that our mission extends much further — to deliver seamless usability to users in a cross & multi-chain era.

So… let’s talk about that a bit.

But what is it about, a bridge? OH, NOT AGAIN, I HATE THOSE DARN BRIDGES THERES LIKE A GAZIL!#@! OF THEM ALREADY.

We know, as regular users we’ve felt overwhelmed and frustrated as well... So much that we built one that connects them all.

Now, it’s alive.

⸮ “A Bridge” ?

What is a "bridge" actually? Say bridge 10 times, now it doesn't mean anything. See? Reality is ambiguous and everything is a simulation, welcome to the metaverse Punk#1337.

Back to real life, what does a bridge mean, what does (or should) it do and where did the term even come from?

Bridges are core infrastructure that allow segregated entities to communicate. Without a bridge, any value that a chain holds would be locked there, and no new value could come in (from other chains). Imagine trying to get to the other side of the world without planes, trains, or boats — it’s the same when you’re navigating blockchains.

The only way to move your money from one chain to another is through a centralized exchange, which is why bridges (especially ones that compete in UX with exchanges) are crucial to the future of Web3. Everyone knows centralized exchanges are the inferior solution, yet everyone keeps using them. Why? Usability.

Whether the future is multi-chain or cross-chain, you will have the ability to move between all chains.

🧙‍♂️ From Medieval to Web3

Tying different unconnected parts together isn’t new, humans have been doing it for centuries.

This is what a bridge used to look like. Keep in mind that functionality is still the same, just the medium is different.

One of the oldest bridges that still exist today.

Traditional bridges are physical structures that throughout history have paved the way for trading, communicating, and transformed the human species into what is is today — an interconnected web of entities.

Nowadays, the building materials of a bridge is pure information, encoded in text we like to call code. These bridges themselves transfer pure information, like an ethereal beam between two satellite dishes.

By simply installing a Starlink satellite dish on your roof, you are now connected to the whole network, you are no longer on the outside.

🤖 Bridgette, Show Yourself!

This is Bridgette's interface.

It’s a portal that connects you to any chain you desire. A portal that you already know how to use.

No instructions or prior knowledge is necessary, just bridge away 🤖

⚙️ Fundamental Concepts

Seamless

You’re just done browsing Twitter on your iPhone or Pixel, you send a short message on Telegram or Signal with a funny & animated emoji, then quickly respond with a voice memo to someone.

…and then you open a Dapp, 2 popups appear just to swap a token, a warning appears telling you to be careful, you sign some stuff to transfer a minuscule amount to some L2, all while navigating different interfaces that look like they were made by the backend guy on a not-so-good day.

That happens so many times it became a running joke. Why do so many great Dapps suffer from a lack of attention on the UX side? The answer is not technical un-prowess, lack of funding or malfeasance. The answer, as Ocam’s Razor states, is usually the most simple and obvious one.

All of these great tools have been built by developers…and that’s all, only developers. We're all developers, aren't we?

Yeah, sure, just ask your dad, your neighbor, or your Starbucks barista. They can roll out a quick python script anytime, they're just lazy that's all.

Teams like Uniswap, Curve, etc have raised the bar and shown the world what design and UX can do for a simple Dapp, but these examples are a handful. There is a need for more. We aim to raise the bar even further, and this is proudly the first fundamental rule Bridgette stands on.

We challenge you to find a solution that’s easier to use. We had to try them all, and some have actually impressed us (if you’re reading this you know who), but not in the category that we are building.

Permisionless

No one has censorship control over Bridgette.

The aggregation interface is being deployed on IPFS + EthLimo, while the BRIDGETTE Protocol is a series of smart contracts that won’t have any censorship or blocking mechanism.

If this sounds to convoluted, just think of Uniswap. You do not need permission from Ethereum, Uniswap, or anyone to interact with the contracts. They cannot be turned off and you cannot be blacklisted.

The issue of user safety in regards to interacting with bad tokens (or avoiding it) is a UI one, not an excuse for smart contract censorship.

Governable

Governance not only provides decentralization, but also diversity of opinion and fast iterations, it’s like a global brainstorming that’s happening 24/7 without interruption.

We see an open on-chain governance system not as a feature, not as a marketing gimmick, but as a requirement for protocols such as Bridgette to function properly — and our main goal for V2 is to open the governance to all Bridgette users (all types, whether projects or users — past, present or future).

The other 2 fundamental concepts of Bridgette, Speed & Security, will be unveiled together with the launch of BRIDGETTE Protocol, a next generation bridging solution that will live along our aggregation protocol.

🤩 The Opportunity

Bridgette takes a new approach and aggregates all liquidity in one place, while also providing users with the most optimized pools in terms of liquidity, availability, and safety — enabling smooth and fast teleports.

The market that we are operating in is still in its infancy, but growing at a rapid pace.

State of Bridging

💸 Token

Wen?

👷‍♂️ Open Source?

Most likely (aka Yes). We are committed to having a solid and extendable codebase that collaborators can build on. The way Bridgette is designed means you can easily check what happens, without going through any code.

How is that? Bridgette is non-custodial, and your transfers are routed directly to the best bridge, without touching any additional points on the way.

Teleports are fast and capped only by the confirmation time of the underlying bridge & chain. Together this takes less than 10 minutes, usually <5 mins.

You can verify this just by looking at the Metamask transaction and verify what address you are calling. You will see that you are interacting with the bridge contract directly, as you would on their (= external bridge) own interface.

If you are a frequent bridgeoooooor you’ll appreciate not going through the hassle of switching between different bridges that each support different tokens.

You build the park before you show the stage.

Subscribe
