We started at the ETHGlobal Tokyo hackathon held in April. We developed and won prizes from QuickNode and Push Protocol.🏆 From there, we continued development for two months and arrived where we are today.

We aim to enhance engagement and retention and to make various current Web3 projects more accessible through iPhone widgets. You can receive valuable information on your home screen without opening any apps or websites; you won't miss out anymore.🛎

As a starting point, we have developed three widgets.

• Snapshot Widget: Show voting status

• POAP Widget: Display four POAPs you hold

• Balance Widget: Show balance at the specified address

Initially, we plan to develop further widgets related to Snapshot.⚡️ The current voting situation in DAOs has plenty of room for improvement. The potential is limitless for widgets notifying about yet-to-be-voted proposals, displaying alerts when deadlines are approaching, and more. Please look forward to the release.

Winning the main prizes at the hackathon

For a month since the launch of this article, we have been thinking about how to present our new product "caaaption". Of course, what we want to achieve has not changed since the last time, which is to make a social wallet specializing in identity. For as a first step, we wanted to create simple and easy for the users.

With this passion at heart, we participated in the hackathon "ETHGlobal Tokyo" held in my hometown, Japan. We developed a "Widget" function that was planned to release in the future as a feature within the caaaption and successfully won the main prize from QuickNode and the top 10 prizes from Push. Meanwhile, we received a lot of feedback from dApps .For instance, comments like "We'll give you grants, so please keep building more widgets" and also got some from users, "We want you to make a widget like this and that" or even "When are you going to release it in α version?" etc. I firmly believe it is always the users who give us the best answers, so we decided to start caaaption with this widget feature.

What is the Widget feature?

Enabling access to information from various projects on the home screen of an iPhone, ensuring that no important information is missed.

I am developing products with a small team led by two founders, myself and my best friend tomokisun, best friend for 5 years. We are experienced mobile apps developer, currently building social apps. Here are some brief profiles of us.

Satoya: Founder / Designer

• After graduating from high school, he studied marketing, design, and project management at several startups.

tomokisun: Co-Founder / Engineer

• I started my career as an engineer at the age of 16 and developed the mobile application for CAMPFIRE, one of the largest crowdfunding services in Japan, by myself.

• Most recently, I developed the Dogechain version of ENS. This is the most popular dApps on the chain with over 10,000 addresses in the first week of pre-registration.

I have launched a number of applications, and I am always developing products that bridge the gap between Web2 and Web3. Here is an example of our track record.

• I developed "Super NFT Products," a service that allows users to create their own original NFT goods such as phone cases and T-shirts. We have since sold the service to a listed company!

• At ETHSanFrancisco, organized by ETHGlobal, we won prizes from Covalent and ENS for developing a "mobile app with visualized on-chain information feeds and reactions".

• At the StarkNet Paris Hack held in France, we developed "a service that allows sellers and buyers to comment on the NFT marketplace" and won a prize from Aspect.

Are there common components for mobile wallet designers? lol

The development of mobile wallet apps has accelerated in recent years. Strangely enough, they all offer the same user interface. Why is this? Here is an example. Can you tell which image is which service? If you can figure them all out, you are a mobile wallet professional, but in general it will be difficult.

Thinking again, is this name "Wallet" correct? Wallet means "wallet". But now that the whole blockchain ecosystem, including Ethereum, has developed, we believe this is not correct.

It’s also important to consider how the purpose of a wallet has changed over the last few years. Up until recently, almost all wallets were built and designed around one thing: transactions. Many wallets are 3+ years old and were built solely for the purpose of buying, trading, and holding tokens. Since then, the purpose of the wallet has evolved. Now, we’re seeing more demand for wallets as a place to hold NFTs (see Genesis, Rainbow or Coinbase Wallet) and multimedia experiences (see Glass, DRAUP, and Altered State Machine). Put simply, wallets are becoming a place where people want to spend time, and there are more use cases today than ever before. Existing wallets will not (and, candidly, cannot) adapt to this new preference in behavior.

The "POAP" allows us to provide proof that the person was at the location. Is it correct that this and the account balance to two decimal places are displayed in parallel? In the current "Assets" wallet, "0xFA75FeFbDfBc589EF3F5545cCdc36903D1367dED" has "1.709 MATIC", and so on. Would the average person be interested in this information? If you want to know something about the person, I think there are more important things to display. The wallet as it should be should represent your own identity.

About our service “caaaption”

We are developing a "social wallet specialized in identity".

Just as you would not show all the contents of your real wallet to your friends, you can customize your wallet to your liking by limiting the display of your balance to your close friends, displaying your favorite NFTs in large size, and so on.

This time, we would like to briefly introduce two representative features, "My Profile / Social Feed".

My Profile:

This is not a page that displays your account balance. It is a profile page that displays your identity. First of all, imagine a virtual currency wallet that you usually use. Maybe it's MetaMask for those of you who do most of your transactions on your computer, Rainbow for the mobile wallet giants, Uniswap Wallet for those of you who like new things... I'm not happy with any of them. I am not happy with any of them because these wallets are not customizable to my liking. I want a one-of-a-kind wallet for myself that no one else will have.

With "caaaption" you have the freedom to control who sees your information and how they see it. (Isn't that normal? Would you show the contents of your wallet to everyone in town?) For example, you can do all of the following

• Limit the display of your balance and when you recently made purchases to your closed friends.

• Place your recently acquired FWB membership NFT prominently and prominently. (You want to show off, right?)

• Set a photo of yourself and your girlfriend as wallpaper, like the background of your iPhone home screen.

• You own “nouns”, change the app's icon to that of the nouns collaboration.

Getting my first wallet was a huge step towards self-sovereignty in my pre-teenage years. Having a wallet allowed me to do more “adult” things like carrying a membership card or debit card, or tithing at church with my own cash instead of my mom handing me a few dollars. But more importantly, having my own wallet allowed me to compile pieces of my identity and carry them with me wherever I went. Obviously, as I grew in age, maturity, taste, experiences, and income, the things I held in my wallet evolved, as did the wallet itself. Today, almost all the things I’d previously held in my wallet live natively on my iPhone but here’s a glimpse of what was inside young Jay’s first wallet:

• My favorite sports trading cards (Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez)

• A family photo

• My YMCA membership card

• A library card

• One of my 5th grade crushes gave me a cut-out of her school picture on Valentines’ Day…I put it in my wallet 🤦🏾‍♂️

Apart from the wallet, we are pleased to announce a brand new and exciting feature of this app. The ability to share your new purchases and acquisitions with your friends. It's easy to imagine it as a purchase information version of Zenly, Swarm. You want to show off your new purchase to everyone and even tell your friends about it if it's a good one!

With the social feature, you can automatically and synchronously share what you bought / sold with your good friends, focusing on the open transaction feature of the blockchain. Of course, it is not limited to on-chain transactions, you can also share with your friends that you bought a cup of coffee at a café with a nice picture! If you see something you like in your friend's post, you can smoothly purchase it from within the app.

We are considering designing an incentive for friends who tell us about the product.

Technology may evolve, but the fundamental desire remains the same.

No matter how advanced crypto gets, you still want to connect with people and feel warmth. We are developing every day in the hope that we can make it easier for you to get to know that girl you care about, to communicate with that precious friend who is just out of reach.
