Hello friends,

We've been heads-down building Canary's core front-end presence. Here’s what that looks like in more detail:

Website Launch Canary now has a home on the web:

https://canaryapp.io/

The site explains what Canary is, how it works, and why we're building it as an open-source public good. Here, you'll find links to our documentation, GitHub, and origin story. Join the newsletter, and follow along as we build. We’ve gathered some feedback here for how to ensure the humanity of our project is front and center, which we’ll integrate.

UI Refresh

We’ve reworked the demo app UI to move beyond the post-hackathon prototype. The new design is style-aligned with our website, cleaner, easier to navigate, and more informational. This is an ongoing process as we shape Canary into a real demo app that people can test and trust. Dark mode is a must, so we’ve fixed some bugs there too.

Public Release Archive Feature

We’ve added a public release archive where released information lives permanently. When someone's Canary trigger activates, their protected content doesn't just get sent to recipients, it also becomes part of a permanent, searchable record. This will live in the Canary Dashboard.

Anyone can explore released content and decrypt what's been made public

We're testing different metadata previews for encrypted content and adding support for video, audio, and document formats

Mentor Support

We've had insightful calls meeting our W3PN Launchpad mentors. Their guidance has been invaluable as we shape both the product and the strategy for bringing Canary into the world.

What's Next

Preparing our optics (website, docs, demo app) for grant application and active community building. Implement Website Feedback to highlight the best bits

Improvement user-onboarding in the demo app (document upload wizard & user guide). We’re suffering from “Aggressive user onboarding” and want to alleviate this for our non-crypto-natives.

Sharpening the UX of Public Release Archive

Decentralized storage integrations (Codex, Arweave, IPFS)

— The Canary Team 🐦

https://canaryapp.io/
