For much of my life, I confused needs with wants. At first glance, the difference may seem obvious, but living with this mix-up created unnecessary stress, disharmony, and suffering. When I told myself I needed something, I placed my mind in a state of survival. Stress followed, procrastination crept in, and small matters began to feel overwhelming. But the truth is, very few things in this life are actual needs.

Our most basic human needs are simple—air, water, food, shelter, and connection. Without these, life cannot continue. Yet outside of those fundamentals, everything else is a want. A want is a desire—sometimes powerful, sometimes subtle, but always a choice. The trouble arises when we convince ourselves that our wants are needs. Suddenly, we live as if we are lacking, as if survival depends on fulfilling a desire that, in reality, is optional.

I’ve seen this pattern clearly in my own life. Take something as ordinary as being invited to a wedding. In the past, I would tell myself, I need a suit. That single thought triggered stress, avoidance, and last-minute scrambling. But when I stopped and questioned it, I realized—I don’t need a suit. I want one. I want to look nice. I want to be respectful. I want to show up in a way that reflects how much I care. That small shift from “need” to “want” completely transformed the experience. Shopping became lighter, even enjoyable, because I was no longer in a survival mindset.

This shift applies to deeper things as well. Growing up, I was told I needed braces or else I would face complications later in life. I believed it for years. But here I am as an adult with the same teeth I’ve always had, no complications, and the realization that I never needed braces. Did I want straighter teeth to fit a societal image? Not really. I’ve come to embrace the uniqueness of my smile. What once felt like a deficiency is now something I cherish.

Recognizing the difference between needs and wants is liberating. It dismantles the false pressures society places on us and helps us step into conscious choice. When I tell myself “I want,” it gives me space to ask: Do I really want this? Often the answer is no, and I can let go. Other times, the answer is yes, and I can move forward joyfully.

Ultimately, there is no mysterious “they” imposing these pressures. It is our own conditioning, our own internalized voices. Becoming aware of this truth allows us to release the weight of false needs and embrace life with greater clarity, freedom, and authenticity.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Conscious Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections. If you would like to hear these thoughts in my own authentic voice, the original video is embedded below for your listening and viewing pleasure.

Spirituality, to me, begins with the understanding that we are not simply our bodies, minds, or fleeting thoughts. These are tools—ways of engaging with the world, of experiencing, learning, and growing—but they are not the essence of who we truly are. At our core, we are far more expansive, far more timeless than what we can see in the mirror or measure with science.

The spiritual path often reveals itself through subtle hints—moments that stir something deep inside, whispering that there is more than what meets the eye. Following those hints can lead us beyond the ordinary into realms of self-discovery. The path doesn’t require abandoning the world or living on a mountaintop in meditation. It is simply a choice—how much of our lives we devote to uncovering who we truly are.

My own journey began in 2015 with meditation. Initially, it was a way to cope with anxiety and depression, but soon it became a gateway to experiences my scientific, logical mind could not explain. At first, I clung to materialist explanations—hallucinations, tricks of the brain—but the reality of those moments often felt more vivid and alive than waking life. This opened the door to questioning everything, to exploring possibilities like astral projection, altered states, and the role of consciousness in shaping reality.

In my eagerness, I turned to psychedelics, hoping for instant enlightenment. Growing and consuming mushrooms brought me face-to-face with beauty beyond words and terror beyond imagination. That single experience reshaped me. It showed me the profound truth of spirituality but also left me shaken, unprepared to integrate what I had seen. For a time, I retreated back into material pursuits—chasing careers, possessions, and comfort. Yet the whisper of spirituality never left.

Traveling with my partner, leaving behind our possessions, and living in an RV reignited something within me. The beauty of constant movement was profound, yet it also became another form of chasing—an endless search for novelty. Eventually, that too revealed its limits. True transformation, I realized, is not in the external but in the courage to turn inward.

A turning point came at Mount Shasta. That place awakened something within me, a reminder that magic is real and courage lies in facing the shadows we carry—anxiety, depression, fear—and seeing them for what they are. When met directly, they dissolve into nothing more than passing waves of energy.

Today, my focus is no longer on crystals, altered states, or external “proofs” of the spiritual. My attention has shifted inward, toward the patient and often challenging work of self-discovery. This is the real path—the willingness to look within, to grow, to allow fear to dissolve in the light of awareness, and to embrace the simple truth that life itself is a spiritual journey.

Every step, whether toward or away, is still part of the path. And the beauty is, no matter where we find ourselves, we are exactly where we need to be.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Conscious Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

For most of my life, I believed that money was the key to getting what I truly wanted. Like many others, I mistook paper currency for wealth and assumed it was the gateway to everything meaningful. But real wealth doesn’t come from dollars or even silver—it comes from understanding what we genuinely seek and realizing that money is only a tool, not the destination.

When I first experienced a spiritual awakening, I still carried the belief that I needed money to evolve. I was fascinated by crystals, especially moldavite, and convinced myself that owning it would accelerate my growth. What I really wanted, though, was spiritual evolution—not the stone, not the currency to buy it, but the growth itself. The paradox was that I believed I needed an external thing to unlock what was already within me. In reality, all I ever needed was to sit with myself, face my thoughts, and do the inner work.

This is the trap many of us fall into. We confuse the symbol for the substance, the means for the end. Yet life itself doesn’t run on money—it runs on exchange, reciprocity, and balance. Nature teaches us this clearly: the bee gathers pollen while pollinating flowers, the trees shed their leaves to enrich the soil, the earth gives and receives in an endless cycle. Everything flows in a natural barter system.

When I look at my own desires—like wanting to settle down, grow food, and be part of a conscious community—the conditioned mind immediately says, You need to buy land. To buy land, you need money. But the truth is, there are other paths. Helping a farmer, joining an eco-village, or exchanging skills for space are all possibilities that bypass money entirely. What matters most is clarity about what we truly want and the willingness to give first.

If I want to live in a world of conscious, evolving people, then I must embody that myself. I must break free from the matrix of conditioned beliefs that tells me I need money before I can live authentically. And in doing so, I naturally share what I’m learning, which becomes part of the cycle. Teaching and learning merge into the same thing when we realize we are all one.

Breaking free from this illusion is both liberating and humbling. We are not bound by the constructs handed to us unless we continue to believe in them. The deeper truth is that the world already operates in abundance and reciprocity. It’s our task to align with it.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Conscious Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

I had a vision that shook me to the core—one that I never imagined possible. In this vision, I saw you, Donald Trump, not as the persona the world knows, but as the human being beyond it. You stepped to the podium and spoke not with bravado or theatrics, but with raw honesty. You admitted the wrongs you had done, as well as the wrongs this country has carried out and hidden away. You didn’t deflect or deny. You looked into the darkness and called it by its name.

In this vision, you declared that the path forward must be truth—truth no matter how uncomfortable, no matter how painful. You said that healing requires us to stop sweeping the past under the rug and to face it head-on. You even went so far as to say that if the people chose you to lead, you would do so even from a prison cell. It wasn’t about power or control anymore. It was about responsibility, honesty, and a willingness to transform.

Hearing those words in the vision transformed me instantly. It was as if the endless cycle of division—the dark against the light, the light against the dark—finally found its breaking point. Like the yin-yang, each holding a piece of the other, we could finally see that both sides carry light and shadow. For too long we’ve repeated this game across lifetimes, across worlds, endlessly chasing and fighting without resolution. What if, this time, we actually broke free?

I imagined us, stripped of personas, sitting around the cosmic fire after this life, looking at each other and laughing about the roles we played. “I really had you there, didn’t I?” one of us would say. “You did,” the other would reply. But then the laughter would fade, replaced by the realization: we hadn’t figured it out. Not yet. And so, back into the cycle we’d go, to try again.

But what if this time we did figure it out? What if humanity came together to see that the homeless person on the street is not “someone else,” but ourselves? That lifting the weakest among us is the same as lifting ourselves? That ignoring suffering only prolongs our own?

That is the reality I long for. A reality where truth and compassion replace denial and division. A reality where we finally stop playing this game of separation and remember that we are all one.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Conscious Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

Money is one of the most powerful forces shaping our lives, yet so few of us stop to question what it really is. At its core, money was once meant to be a simple tool—a means to an end, something that held intrinsic value. A silver coin, for example, carries weight and usefulness in itself. It can be exchanged for goods or services because it possesses qualities we recognize as valuable. That was money in its truest form.

But what we call “money” today is something different. Paper bills were once tied to gold or silver in a vault, a note of trust that could be redeemed for something real. Over time, that link was severed. Now, a dollar is not backed by gold or silver. It is not wealth—it is simply a representation of trust in a system that demands belief. Even more abstract than paper is digital currency: numbers on a screen with no tangible substance at all.

This system is not neutral. It is built on debt. Every dollar created by the Federal Reserve enters the world with interest attached. That means more money must always be created to cover the interest, or the system collapses. It is a pyramid scheme disguised as economics, constantly demanding expansion, constantly pulling power upward. Those at the bottom are kept working, surviving, often unaware of how the very structure traps them. And those at the top, who have amassed the most of these tokens, often mistake them for true wealth—yet their wealth is hollow.

True wealth is not measured by the number of bills or digits in an account. True wealth is found in awareness, in connection, in the beauty of the present moment. It is the realization that we already have what we need. Knowledge is at our fingertips. Community, creativity, and the simple gift of being alive—these are treasures no currency can buy.

Symbols from the past remind us of this truth. Lady Liberty with wings on her head once represented freedom of thought. The axe wrapped in olive branches symbolized authority balanced by the people’s power. But today, that balance has been lost. Authority has slipped out of check, fueled by a monetary system that siphons power to the top. If freedom of thought is to be preserved, if balance is to be restored, it will not come from clinging to paper notes—it will come from remembering where our true wealth lies.

We are not powerless. Real power is not domination or control—it is the conscious use of energy, intention, and awareness. It is the ability to step out of illusion, to reclaim our voices, and to live in alignment with values deeper than paper or digits. Wealth, in its truest form, is already here.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Conscious Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

Sometimes, the most profound lessons come from the simplest moments. Connecting with another human being—even a stranger—can awaken parts of ourselves we rarely access. I recently found myself talking to people I would normally avoid. Normally, I keep my walls high, retreat from conversations, and move quickly through interactions. But in this instance, I allowed myself to engage fully, to be present, and the experience was unexpectedly beautiful. There was laughter, shared stories, and an honest connection that left me feeling light and happy. It was a reminder that opening up, even just a little, can create moments of genuine human connection that are often undervalued.

Yet, while the heart finds ease, the mind rarely stops. Thoughts can become rehearsed narratives, cycling over and over, rehearsing what to say next, analyzing interactions, or anticipating future events. Even when we want to simply be, the mind often resists surrender. This raises an essential question: how much control do we really have over our thoughts? Are our minds ours, or are we passengers, gently steering where we can while currents of thought flow unbidden?

I’ve realized that while we may not fully control the mind, we can direct our focus. Meditation, conscious awareness, and mindful practice are like steering a boat through a stormy sea. We can’t stop the waves, but we can choose the direction in which we sail. In these moments, I see the subtle power in choosing presence over control, connection over avoidance, and openness over fear.

The paradox is clear: we can’t control everything about our thoughts, yet we can choose how we respond. We can choose to step toward connection instead of retreat, to embrace the unpredictable flow of conversation instead of escaping it, and to find peace amidst the ceaseless activity of the mind. Life’s simplest experiences—the hello of a neighbor, the invitation to meet a cat, a conversation with strangers—can teach us about letting go, finding joy, and practicing conscious presence.

Ultimately, control over the mind may be an illusion, but guiding our focus and choosing engagement allows us to live more fully. Each moment becomes an opportunity to practice openness, presence, and connection, reminding us that the mind is a tool, not a master.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Conscious Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

There is something powerful about allowing words to flow freely without editing, judgment, or control. Speaking openly—even if the voice shakes, stumbles, or pauses—creates a path toward authenticity. In silence, surrounded by the forest near Mount Shasta, every sound and moment reminds me that imperfection is not failure, but part of learning and growth.

For the past year and a half, I’ve been traveling in an RV with Daniel, moving from place to place, never staying long enough to plant roots. Yet a longing has grown within me—for stability, for a piece of land where we can settle, grow food, and create a home that is in harmony with the earth. It feels strange that in a world full of vast, empty land, access to even a small piece is bound by systems of ownership that demand endless labor and money. Existence itself should be enough to belong here. If birds can build nests wherever they find space, why can’t humans also live freely on the earth without permission slips and endless paperwork?

Ownership, as society defines it, feels artificial. Nothing is truly ours—it is all borrowed and eventually returned. The land provides, and in return, we must care for it. Yet modern systems often obscure this truth, reducing the earth to something to be exploited rather than nurtured. That disconnection harms not only the planet, but us as well, because we are not separate from it. To give to the land is to give to ourselves.

Through this practice of speaking without a script, I’ve noticed my thoughts move from nervousness to flow. Silence has become less of a void to fill and more of a space to honor. I’ve realized that self-expression doesn’t require perfection; it requires presence. Still, there is a balance between freedom of speech and awareness of impact. Authenticity means being true to oneself while remaining open to feedback that keeps our words from causing harm. Growth happens in that space between honesty and responsibility.

At the heart of it all lies an invitation: to speak, to live, to exist fully. Everyone has a voice, and using it matters. The throat chakra, symbol of expression and truth, is not meant to stay closed. Imperfections—pauses, stumbles, awkwardness—are not barriers but stepping stones. When we dare to open up, we not only find our voice, but also reclaim our connection to the land, to each other, and to the truth that everything is alive, everything is shared, and everything is sacred.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Consciousness Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections. If you would like to hear these thoughts in my own authentic voice, the original video is embedded below for your listening and viewing pleasure.

Though history has tried to silence it, lock it away, or declare it dead, this sacred magic—this soulful essence—remains alive and pulsating beneath the surface, gently urging us to awaken and remember that we are not alone, that we are connected to something vast and powerful.

Magic is not an abstract concept but a living movement coursing through flesh, mind, and time. It is the unseen current that animates our thoughts and the sacred rhythm guiding life’s dance. When we surrender to its flow, we ignite in ourselves a subtle yet profound aliveness — a spark that transcends the physical world and touches the infinite.

In reflecting on this, we are reminded that belief isn’t simply about outward faith but is an intimate whisper within the mind and heart. It is a choice to honor the invisible threads that bind us to one another, to nature, and to the ineffable source that animates all. Even in uncertain moments—like sitting beneath a precariously hanging tree—there lies a quiet courage and trust in the vitality that carries us.

This enduring spirit invites us to see beyond the material, to appreciate magic not as a distant myth but as the very fabric of our lived reality. In recognizing this, life gains urgent meaning: to serve this magic, embody it authentically, and let it move through us as the ultimate expression of conscious evolution.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Consciousness Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

Sometimes stepping away from the world and into solitude offers the clarity needed to set a true intention. Out here in Shasta Lands, surrounded by stillness and the curious chatter of a squirrel, I find myself confronting the reasons behind this journey—why I speak aloud where no one can hear. This isn’t just about moments in nature; it’s about learning and teaching, recognizing that every one of us is both student and teacher, constantly evolving through our experiences.

I’ve often hesitated to voice my feelings or opinions, instead internalizing thoughts and silently judging others’ expressions. This tendency, fueled by social anxiety, has kept me from speaking freely. Yet, the desire to overcome this holds vital urgency. By capturing my thoughts—whether in the forest’s quiet or across the online world—I aim to become a better speaker and more authentic communicator. This process is a personal act of courage: to take what’s inside and share it genuinely, hoping it will also help me grow comfortable with myself and others.

The squirrels and butterflies here remind me that communication is never perfect but always important. Through meditation and silence, I learn not only to listen outwardly but also to embrace my own voice. This evolving journey highlights the transformative power of intention, patience, and vulnerability—the foundation for true connection and self-understanding.

This blog post is an AI-generated synopsis of my ‘Consciousness Evolution Broadcast’ video, capturing the essence of my reflections.

It’s time for us all to wake up and face the truth about the world we have created. The system we live within is fundamentally broken—built on manipulation, exploitation, and relentless extraction that prioritizes exponential growth over sustainability. This unjust framework benefits only a small fraction of people while causing unnecessary suffering and harm to the many. Although suffering is an inherent part of life, much of the pain we endure is a direct consequence of the structures and choices imposed by this system.

For meaningful change to happen, this entire system needs to collapse. Only through dismantling what no longer serves us can we create something new—something inclusive, sustainable, and just for all. But this transformation requires courage, as it demands that we shed the masks society has handed us and those we have woven ourselves. These masks protect us but also keep us disconnected from our true selves and from each other. Taking them off marks the beginning of a deeper collapse, an unraveling that is scary but necessary for authentic healing.

We must recognize that separation is an illusion; our lives are interconnected. What affects one of us affects all of us. Humanity can no longer hide from the dark truths of its past and present. We need to confront the harms we've committed openly and honestly, allowing this awareness to guide us toward a brighter and better future. The journey ahead will be challenging, but the time for awakening and rebuilding is now.

I took on all of this bullshit, a whole web of beliefs and instructions. But when I strip all that away and just look at the world with no filter, I can’t find “normal” anywhere.

Today is the start of something new, because I’ve decided to begin a blog.

The inspiration for this came from someone unexpected, a stranger named Judy. And while I gave her a polite fake “thank you” in person earlier today, this is the real one. The honest one.

A Simple Day Out

Daniel (my partner) and I spent the day in the little town of Florence, OR. The plan was simple: grab some coffee, wander around, take in the local vibe. By the end of the day, we were ready to head back to the car and drive home when Daniel decided, on a whim, to stop at the local artist co-op.

As soon as we walked in, an elderly woman greeted us. She asked if either of us were writers. I shrugged and admitted I only really scribble in my journal from time to time. That was all she needed to hear.

She launched into her whole heartfelt spiel about how now is the perfect time to start writing, and how I could learn a thing or two from her. Before letting us browse, she added, “Go look around, there are some beautiful things in here. But when you’re done, stop by my tent outside.”

The Weight of a Promise

Sure enough, outside the co-op she had a table covered with pamphlets and books. And here’s the thing: I wasn’t particularly interested in what she was offering. But she was so kind, so warm — she had that perfect grandma energy you just can’t say no to.

So I promised we’d stop by.

As Daniel and I wandered through the co-op, I couldn’t focus on the art. My mind was stuck on one thing: stopping at Judy’s tent on the way out. Could we sneak out unnoticed? Maybe if she got distracted with another customer? That was my hope.

But no. Daniel, of course, wouldn’t allow a sneaky exit. He’s far too honest for that.

And sure enough, when it came time to leave, there she was — smiling, completely unoccupied, waiting patiently for us at her little tent.

Judy’s Process

It went exactly how I imagined. She showed us her books, read a few paragraphs from each, and, because Daniel is both kind and social, he leaned right in. He laughed at her corny jokes, nodded at her advice, and gave her the full attention she craved.

Meanwhile, I stood there torn between politeness and impatience.

Judy explained her five-step writing process — and I can share it with you because I’m literally staring at the pamphlet she gave me:

Start with an idea (wow, groundbreaking)

See if it has legs (never saw an idea with legs before)

Do the needed research (never would’ve thought)

Acquire photos (I like photos)

Start writing (woah)

All the while, she kept circling back to me, as if this was my big moment. I smiled and nodded, but internally I was rolling my eyes, thinking only of our escape plan.

Judy's 5-Step Writing Process Pamphlet

Frustration and Exit

The conversation dragged on. My patience thinned. I couldn’t fake interest much longer. Luckily, Daniel and Judy naturally wound things down. We exchanged our polite “thank yous,” and “nice to meet yous,” and finally we were free.

As we walked away, I was ready to vent — maybe joke about how long it all went on, maybe roll my eyes at the experience. But before I could say anything, Daniel spoke up:

“She was so sweet. Anyone could write. You could write. She was inspirational.”

I muttered, “Yeah,” but inside my irritation bubbled. I didn’t enjoy the interaction, and that made me feel guilty. Because the truth is, she wasn’t trying to sell me anything shady or waste my time. She was a kind soul trying to inspire someone she believed had an interest in writing.

The Irony

And here’s the irony: she was right.

She saw something in me I didn’t see in myself. She believed I could write, and in her persistence, she handed that belief to me.

By the time we got home, my frustration had softened. My mind calmed. And then this crazy idea popped into my head: “Maybe I could write.”

And so, here I am — writing.

I even adjusted and personalized Judy’s simple five-step process for myself:

Get journal

Write as fast as my mind races

Take a picture of my messy scribbles

Upload it to AI to transcribe and make sense of

Edit and Post it on a blog

Not quite the same thing, but it works.

So Judy, if I could go back, I’d be more present. I’d thank you genuinely instead of just politely.
