FreeMint now is gaining more and more attention and discussing because of the success of Goblintownwtf. There is saying that FreeMint is the future of the NFTs. Do you think Pay2Mint, on the other hand, should really be abandoned by market and collectors due to the “free ride” trend?

We don’t think so. Following are the reasons why.

1. Currently, the “super blue chip” projects are mostly Pay2Mint ones. Starting the discussion with this statement is not saying Pay2Mints are naturally better than FreeMints. There are some reasons why market loves Pay2Mints and uphold outstanding ones to the throne. First of all, the access of premium resources come with costs. When it comes to this aspect, there a barely chance any team can make the project free. Whether you believe it or not, no premium resources or membership rights are free, unless they are just gimmicks to net people in. There are costs from developing and moving a project further. People have this consensus from how real world works, so it can be offset into crypto world that smoothly.

2. FreeMint isn’t a brand new headline. FreeMints have been with the market for while. Why do people now see the “FreeMint” and treat it like game changer? All of sudden there is one FreeMint case rising up, they’re trippin’ now, then figure out that FreeMint is the future. Matter of fact, it’s survivorship bias. Pay2Mints have dominated the blue chip domain for long time, again, strong utilities, cultural identities and consensus are the most important aspects, which have nothing to do with whether or not free mint. Under current crypto and NFT market circumstances, be aware of this narrow perspective providers or fortune teller is helping the market bounced back. There are always some advantages investors can see from a successful project such as how it create good vibe and strong community, but never be the common gimmick to hype those losers and try to bring them back into market.

3. Free is always the easiest way to trick. Once the free mindset take over, bad things happen. If people in NFT market focus more on free mint feature, eventually they are just wasting gas fee on a bunch of useless JPGs. Running great potential projects always come with costs.

4. We have to admit if FreeMint is future, then it is the future owned by programers and bots. Programers love FreeMint. Once some projects they found out have great potential, and free, they will loot. There is zero chance an average investor can participate in early stage. They can also deploy bulk mint bots on those free mint projects, once one of them pump for some reason, they dump the bags at high. It harms both project development and the average investors

   Overall, FreeMint indeed has its advantage in terms of low participation costs. however, “free” never distinguish the quality of projects, further more, mostly it will be used to hyped up low class projects or benefit those who program to loot. Be aware of “FreeMint is future”. If the Free2Mint trend becomes the mainstream, “free” is greater than everything, the NFT market will become cheap and chaotic. The most important value upheld by all crypto enthusiasts-consensus, will be teared apart in #NFT.
