What is !fundrop?

!fundrop is our way of rewarding minters for using mint.fun. Our aim is to use !fun points to offer rewards to the most passionate NFT collectors and minters out there. By acknowledging those who support creators, identify trends early, and genuinely enjoy having !fun, we believe we can make mint.fun the ultimate destination for minting NFTs—hand in hand with our community.

If you've minted NFTs on Ethereum, you're eligible to claim !fun points. All you need to do is mint a !fundrop pass—an NFT linked to your wallet that showcases your !fun points and minting streak. Don't miss out! Mint your !fundrop pass now and start earning points. Plus, you'll be eligible for the first rewards drop on May 15th (see more below).

How to boost your fun

One of the things we’ve had a lot of questions about is how to boost !fun earnings. Here’s a quick guide. We're using the 🏆 symbol to represent relative points. More 🏆 = more !fun points.

Mints

• 🏆 Retroactive community !fun – Earn 100 !fun for each mint on Ethereum before April 6th, 2023.

• 🏆🏆🏆 Mints on mint.fun – Get 200 bonus !fun for every mint on mint.fun. From now on, only minting on mint.fun will earn points.

Creators

• 🏆🏆 Receive points for every mint when you direct collectors to mint on mint.fun.

Sell on mint.fun

• 🏆🏆 Earn !fun each time you sell an NFT on mint.fun.

Refer friends

• 🏆🏆 Earn 1,000 !fun when you refer a friend to mint a !fundrop pass with your link.

Where is !fun headed?

Since announcing !fundrop, many have asked what the roadmap or plan for !fun is. We’re excited to share some alpha on where we’re headed.

May 15 - first !fun mint

Save the date for May 15th, when the first !fun boxes will unlock, introducing onchain rewards to !fun holders.

We're partnering with a handful of creators to develop a limited edition drop exclusively for !fun holders. This !fun mint will only be accessible to wallets that have minted a !fundrop pass before May 15. Users with the longest streaks and highest points will be rewarded with more exclusive rewards.

Soon - Accelerating rewards and safe minting

We're working on a smart contract called the !fun router designed to multiply !fun rewards and increase safety onchain. To facilitate both goals, an optional fee will be introduced to fund the !fun treasury and maintain the platform's security. With this new system, minters will receive more !fun points, which we will use to back exclusive rewards and upcoming NFT drops. 

Beyond - embracing community ownership

NFTs enable shared ownership within meaningful communities. At mint.fun, we believe this spirit of community ownership should extend to the products you interact with daily. We're looking forward to exploring ways to further evolve our platform with the community's help.

After all, if it’s not fun, why bother?

So we (Context and Zora) created Lanyard, a free, open source tool to quickly and easily generate a gas-efficient NFT project allowlist.

Lanyard is 3 things:

1. A Merkle root generator: just paste the addresses you want to allow, and we generate and return your root instantly

2. A step-by-step guide on how to properly implement the Merkle root in your project – with free support via Discord if you need it

3. A mechanism to ensure your allowlist works across web3

What do we mean by “works across web3?”

Well, Lanyard securely stores your allowlist, Merkle root, and proofs so that your community can mint your project from their preferred interface – your website, mint.fun, and any other platform that integrates Lanyard. As more and more mints happen on platforms like mint.fun, it’s important that creators’ allowlists are part of the horizontal web3 stack and not siloed to a specific project page implementation.
