Algorand Launches Global x402 Challenge

The Algorand Foundation has opened registrations for the Global x402 Challenge, a worldwide competition encouraging developers to build pay-per-request API services powered by the x402 payment standard. Participants must deploy a paid x402 endpoint on Algorand MainNet, drive real on-chain usage, and climb a public leaderboard. The competition features a prize pool of $100,000 USD for the top five projects, plus 500,000 ALGO distributed across the top 20 leaderboard entries. Finalists will pitch their projects live at Devcon 8 in India later this year, making the challenge a major opportunity for builders working on AI agents, machine-to-machine payments, and agentic commerce.

Attacker Drains $24M in USDC From AFX Bridge on Arbitrum

AFX Trade suffered a $24.15 million exploit after an attacker compromised its Arbitrum bridge, draining nearly all of the USDC locked in the bridge contract. The stolen funds were bridged to Ethereum and swapped for approximately 12,467 ETH. Security firm Blockaid detected the attack and is working with the Arbitrum team to help contain the incident. Arbitrum co-founder Steven Goldfeder confirmed that the exploit affected AFX's third-party bridge only and did not impact Arbitrum's native bridge or network infrastructure. AFX had not issued an official statement at the time of reporting.

Hacker Behind Fake 'Vladhood' Token Still Collecting Fees After Robinhood CEO's X Account Hack

Robinhood confirmed that the X account of CEO Vlad Tenev was compromised and used to promote a fake Vladhood (VLAD) memecoin on Robinhood Chain. Investigators found the token had been deployed 46 minutes before the fraudulent post, suggesting the token launch and account takeover were part of a coordinated scam. Although the token's liquidity was locked, the attacker repeatedly collected trading fees, earning about 31.6 ETH (roughly $59,000) and 72 million VLAD tokens while the token generated more than $22 million in trading volume. The incident marks the third high-profile social media scam involving Robinhood Chain in recent weeks, highlighting ongoing security risks around hacked social accounts and memecoin promotions.

Andrew Tate’s memecoin down 97% while he tweets from cell

Andrew Tate's DADDY memecoin has fallen 97% from its 2024 all-time high, trading around $0.008 with a market capitalization below $5 million. The token has lost 50% over the past week, including more than 25% in the days following Tate's recent arrest in Miami on UK extradition-related charges. While Tate has remained active on social media from detention, the token has continued its sharp decline. Investigations previously found that 40% of DADDY's total supply was transferred to a wallet linked to Tate, and several other memecoins promoted by the Tate brothers during the 2024 celebrity memecoin boom have similarly collapsed by more than 99%.

Bitcoin recovered on Monday last week after President Donald Trump described himself as "a big crypto guy" and reiterated his administration's support for the digital asset industry. Polymarket Applies for US License to Offer Margin Trading

Polymarket has applied for a US Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) licence, a move that would allow it to introduce margin trading on its prediction markets. If approved by regulators, users will be able to open positions without posting full collateral upfront, making the platform more attractive to institutional traders while introducing stricter identity verification requirements. 

Summer.fi Hacker Moves $1.35M Into Tornado Cash

The hacker behind the $6 million Summer.fi exploit has started laundering the stolen funds, moving about $1.35 million in DAI through Tornado Cash after swapping the assets for ETH on Uniswap. Summer.fi says this activity suggests the attacker has little intention of voluntarily returning the stolen funds.

AMLBot Puts Polymarket Phishing Toll at $3.1M Across 11 Wallets, Funds Traced to Ethereum

Polymarket has confirmed that a recent phishing attack affected fewer than 15 users, with blockchain security firm AMLBot estimating losses at about $3.1 million across 11 wallets. The attack was caused by malicious code injected through a third-party service, rather than a flaw in Polymarket’s smart contracts. The stolen funds were moved from Polygon to Ethereum and converted into ETH. Polymarket says it has removed the malicious code and has promised to fully reimburse all affected users, although it has not disclosed the identity of the compromised vendor.

Michael Saylor signals another bitcoin buy as Strategy sits about $13 billion underwater

Michael Saylor has hinted that Strategy may announce another Bitcoin purchase after posting his usual acquisition chart on social media. The company currently holds 847,363 BTC but is sitting on an unrealized loss of about $13 billion as Bitcoin trades near $60,000. Despite growing financial pressure and criticism over its aggressive Bitcoin strategy, Strategy appears committed to continuing its accumulation, with another purchase potentially extending its weekly buying streak.

Mystery deepens over Cardano wallet’s $18.5M white hat hacker

Charles Hoskinson says the identity of the person who moved about $18.5 million in ADA from compromised wallets during the SecondFi exploit remains unknown. While SecondFi claims the funds were transferred as part of an emergency effort to protect users, questions remain over who carried out the operation and how the assets will be returned. An independent audit is underway, and SecondFi expects to begin returning funds within two weeks. Meanwhile, Intersect has called for a full explanation of the incident, while stressing that the exploit affected the wallet provider, not the Cardano blockchain itself.

APAC Stellar Hackathon Opens With Up to $60K in Prizes

SpaceX Begins Nasdaq Trading With Tokenized Versions Mirroring Largest IPO in History

Solana Foundation Launches Frontier Traders, an Institutional Program for $500M+ Volume Firms

Solana Foundation has launched Frontier Traders, an institutional program designed for high-volume trading firms on the Solana ecosystem. To qualify, firms must generate at least $500 million in monthly trading volume and meet additional open interest requirements, with higher tiers offering enhanced incentives and access.

The program provides benefits such as trading rebates, priority access to infrastructure, and early participation in new asset launches. Its first campaign is centered on tokenized exposure to SpaceX equity, reflecting the growing competition among blockchain platforms to attract institutional liquidity through high-profile assets and trading incentives.

Coinbase quantum report flags exchange cold wallets among millions of bitcoin exposed by address reuse

Coinbase’s Independent Advisory Board on Quantum Computing and Blockchain published a report estimating that roughly 7 million bitcoins are exposed to a future quantum attack.

About 5 million bitcoin of that total are tied to address reuse that the board says largely belongs to active users, including large cold wallets held by known exchanges.

Chainlink CCIP Draws $1.1 Billion in Value in One Week as Virtuals Join Migration Wave

Chainlink said its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) attracted more than $1.1 billion in token value this week as projects including Virtuals Protocol, Pleasing Market, and Zest Protocol migrated their cross-chain infrastructure to the network. The migration trend accelerated after the April Kelp DAO bridge exploit, which exposed weaknesses in certain cross-chain security configurations. Since then, nearly $5 billion in assets have moved from LayerZero-based setups to CCIP. Projects cite Chainlink’s security features, including independent node operators, rate limits, and institutional-grade certifications, as key reasons for the switch.

Coinbase Launches Pre-IPO Perpetual Futures, Starting with SpaceX

Coinbase has launched pre-IPO perpetual futures that allow eligible users outside the U.S. to trade on the valuation of private companies, starting with SpaceX. The contracts are settled in USD Coin, trade 24/7, and offer up to 5x leverage. Hugging Face Launches Build Small Hackathon

Hugging Face and Gradio have announced the Build Small Hackathon, a global online competition challenging developers to create AI applications using models with 32 billion parameters or fewer.

Running from June 5th to 15th, the hackathon encourages participants to build practical or creative AI experiences that demonstrate the power of smaller, more efficient models. All projects must be built with Gradio, deployed on Hugging Face Spaces, and accompanied by a demo video.

Participants can compete in two tracks:

• Backyard AI – AI tools that solve real-world problems for individuals, communities, or small businesses.

• An Adventure in Thousand Token Wood – Creative and experimental AI experiences, including games, storytelling, and interactive applications.

The event features a prize pool of more than $40,000, including cash awards and hardware prizes from sponsors such as Hugging Face, OpenAI, NVIDIA, Cohere, and OpenBMB.

Iran Launches Bitcoin-Settled Insurance Platform for Hormuz Strait Shipping

Iran has launched Hormuz Safe, a new insurance platform that allows shipping companies using the Strait of Hormuz to pay premiums and settle claims in Bitcoin. The initiative aims to integrate cryptocurrency into maritime trade and reduce reliance on traditional banking systems for international transactions. However, the platform faces challenges, including questions about international acceptance and the risk of sanctions on companies that use it. If adopted, it could become one of the most significant uses of cryptocurrency in global shipping and trade infrastructure.

Circle Freeze on Zama's Confidential USDC Locks $12.6M of User Funds in DeFi 'Crossfire'

Circle has blacklisted Zama’s cUSDC smart contract on Ethereum, freezing about $12.6 million in USD Coin held inside a privacy-focused DeFi protocol. The action followed a court order linked to a separate legal dispute, but it unintentionally locked funds from many users who were not part of the case because their assets were pooled in a shared contract.

The affected protocol, Zama, paused its related contracts and said it is investigating the incident. The case highlights a key risk in DeFi: when stablecoin issuers freeze addresses, they can also trap innocent users if funds are held in shared smart contracts rather than individual wallets.

Stake DAO hit by hack

Stake DAO has suffered a major exploit after an attacker gained control of a privileged account and minted an extremely large amount of its vsdCRV tokens on Arbitrum. The attacker then swapped part of the tokens for a small amount of ETH and bridged the funds back to Ethereum, earning roughly $91,000 before liquidity was drained.

The project warned users not to interact with affected tokens while security teams investigate. The incident adds to a growing list of DeFi security failures in 2026 and highlights ongoing concerns about private key compromises, configuration errors, and weak operational security across decentralized finance platforms.

FBI’s Fake Crypto Sting Exposed Wash-Trading Industry

The FBI ran Operation Token Mirrors, launching a fake ERC-20 token called NexFundAI with a pro website and whitepaper to lure market makers into illegally pumping volume. Firms like Gotbit, MyTrade, and CLS Global were caught on video admitting they’d fake $1M in daily trading volume for $200, run bots to simulate “roller coaster” charts, and coordinate trades, resulting in 18 indictments and $25M seized.

The sting backfired when real retail investors bought the FBI’s worthless token because the fake charts looked bullish, only to lose money when agents pulled liquidity. The FBI had to set up a restitution portal to pay victims back, while copycats cloned the contract within 24 hours and made $127K using the same tactics the arrests were meant to stop.

Glamsterdam Brings Parallel Execution to Ethereum with EIP-7928

Glamsterdam’s EIP-7928 adds Block Access Lists to every block, exposing all touched state and post-tx changes upfront. That lets clients run transactions in parallel, batch prefetch state, and compute the state root during execution instead of after.

Early tests show up to 5x faster block validation, paving the way for 200M–300M gas limits — a 10x scaling boost with no new hardware.

Pump.fun Launches USDC-Paired Liquidity Pools for Token Launches

Pump.fun now lets creators launch tokens with USDC-paired pools instead of SOL, doubling starting market caps to $4K and raising early supply costs 67% to curb abuse and improve distribution. The change cuts retail friction from SOL price swings, while Pump.fun still uses 50% of revenue from all launches to buy back and burn $PUMP tokens.

Google has launched the Google Cloud Rapid Agent Hackathon: Building Agents for Real-World Challenges, inviting developers and AI builders to create intelligent agents powered by Gemini and Google Cloud Agent Builder.

The online hackathon challenges participants to move beyond traditional chatbots by building AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, and executing real-world tasks across areas such as finance, retail, sports, productivity, and everyday workflows.

Participants can build solutions using partner technologies from Arize, Elastic, Fivetran, GitLab, MongoDB, and Dynatrace through MCP integrations. Projects will compete within their selected partner track for cash prizes.

The competition features a total prize pool of $60,000, with awards distributed across the partner categories.

Crypto markets rallied after the U.S. Senate Banking Committee advanced the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act to the full Senate, raising hopes for clearer crypto regulations in the United States. Bitcoin rose 3% to $81,500, while shares of Coinbase and other crypto-related firms also gained strongly. The Turing Test Hackathon

Mantle has officially launched the Turing Test Hackathon 2026, a global competition exploring the future of AI-powered on-chain applications with a combined prize pool of $120,000. The event, co-hosted by Bybit, Byreal, and the Blockchain for Good Alliance, brings together developers, AI innovators and Web3 builders from around the world to deploy autonomous AI agents on Mantle’s blockchain infrastructure.

The first phase of the hackathon, ClawHack, has already concluded after participants competed by deploying AI agents to execute DeFi trading strategies across Mantle’s ecosystem. Focus now shifts to Phase 2, AI Awakening, where participants will compete for a $100,000 prize pool across six categories, including AI trading bots, on-chain analytics tools, AI-powered RWA solutions, consumer dApps, developer tools, and agentic wallet economies.

Ar.io is migrating to Solana

ARIO holders have been advised to register for the upcoming migration of Ar.io to the Solana blockchain. As part of the process, users are required to connect their Arweave or Ethereum wallets and link them to a Solana address to facilitate the transfer of their $ARIO tokens, ArNS names, vaults, and staking positions. The migration will be based on balances captured at the time of the official snapshot. Check out the website for more details. 

Amazon Builds AI Agent Payments With Coinbase and Stripe

Amazon Web Services has launched Bedrock AgentCore Payments, a new system that allows AI agents to hold funds, make payments, and complete transactions automatically. The platform uses Coinbase’s x402 stablecoin payment protocol and Stripe's wallet technology via its Privy subsidiary. The goal is to enable AI agents to pay for services and interact with online systems without human intervention, using stablecoins and eventually traditional fiat payments.

Kraken Parent Payward Seeks US Federal Trust Charter

Payward has applied for a national trust charter from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to expand its regulated crypto services. If approved, the new entity, Payward National Trust Company, would provide federally regulated custody and trust services for digital assets to both institutions and individual users.

DeFi United Fundraising Chips Away at Kelp Exploit Shortfall

The “DeFi United” recovery effort, led by Kelp DAO and Aave Labs, has recovered a significant portion of funds lost in the April 18 exploit, filling about 73,700 ETH of the 163,200 ETH gap. Contributions have come from multiple ecosystem players, including Mantle, Lido, and EtherFi, with additional support from individuals like Stani Kulechov. A major part of the plan includes a proposed 30,000 ETH loan from Mantle, backed by Bybit CEO Ben Zhou. Despite this progress, about 89,500 ETH remains unfunded, and efforts continue to close the gap and address the bad debt caused by the exploit.

Stripe’s Tempo blockchain raised $500M, has lower TPS than Bitcoin

Stripe’s Tempo blockchain is currently handling about 2.5 transactions per second, which is lower than Bitcoin’s roughly 5 TPS, despite earlier claims it could reach 10,000 TPS. The project raised $500 million and was built with Paradigm, but adoption has been weak since its March 2026 launch, with declines in users and transaction activity. Compared to networks like Ethereum, which generate much higher usage and value, Tempo’s real-world performance falls short of expectations.

Ethereum Foundation Sells 10,000 ETH to BitMNR at $2,387 Average Price via OTC

The Ethereum Foundation sold 10,000 Ethereum to BitMNR through an over-the-counter (OTC) deal at an average price of $2,387 per token, totaling about $23.87 million. This type of private transaction helps avoid affecting market prices and is typically used for large institutional trades. The sale is part of the foundation’s strategy to manage its treasury and fund ongoing development and research within the Ethereum ecosystem.

Circle Proposes Emergency Rate Changes to Unstick Aave's Frozen USDC Pool

Circle has proposed urgent changes to the interest rate model on Aave to fix its nearly frozen USD Coin pool, which has been almost fully utilized with little available liquidity after the Kelp exploit. Circle argues that current borrowing rates are too low to restore balance and suggests sharply increasing deposit yields to attract more USDC into the pool and ease withdrawals. The proposal also includes adjusting utilization targets and pausing a risk tool that has underperformed. Overall, Circle is pushing for higher incentives to quickly bring liquidity back and stabilize the market.

New York Attorney General Sues Coinbase, Gemini Over Unlicensed Prediction Markets

Letitia James has sued Coinbase and Gemini, accusing them of running illegal, unlicensed prediction markets in New York. The lawsuit claims these platforms allowed users to bet on events like sports and elections without proper licenses, violating state gambling laws. It also argues they failed to enforce age limits and consumer protections, while avoiding taxes that licensed operators must pay. The state is seeking fines, repayment of profits, and compensation for affected users.

Kelp DAO Loses $293M in Bridge Exploit, Leaving Aave With Over $200M in Bad Debt

Kelp DAO lost about $293 million in a major exploit after an attacker tricked its bridge into creating unbacked rsETH tokens and used them as collateral on Aave to borrow real assets. The attacker acted quickly, completing the attack in under an hour before the system was frozen, leaving Aave with over $200 million in bad debt. This caused panic withdrawals, drained billions in liquidity, and pushed Aave’s lending pools to their limits. Other platforms froze rsETH, and concerns spread across DeFi, making this the largest exploit of 2026 and exposing weaknesses in cross-chain bridges and risk controls.

Class Action Lawsuit Filed Against Circle Over Drift Protocol $280 Million Hack: Gibbs Mura Law Group

A law firm, Gibbs Mura Law Group, has filed a class action lawsuit against Circle Internet Financial on behalf of investors affected by the Drift Protocol hack. The lawsuit claims Circle failed to freeze about $230 million in stolen USD Coin, even though it could do so, allowing attackers reportedly linked to North Korea to move funds freely for hours. The April 1 exploit caused major losses, sharply reduced Drift’s total value, and affected many other DeFi platforms, raising concerns about Circle’s security and compliance during large-scale crypto breaches.

Singapore-based Cobo launches agentic wallet with guardrails for AI-led onchain execution

Cobo has launched a new “Agentic Wallet” designed to let AI agents manage crypto assets safely. The wallet uses a special system called a “Pact” to control what the AI can do, setting clear limits on actions and stopping conditions to prevent misuse. It also uses strong security methods, such as multi-party computation, to ensure that even if an AI or system is compromised, it cannot act on its own to move funds. The wallet works with popular AI tools and supports many blockchains, including Ethereum and Solana. This launch reflects a growing trend, as companies like Coinbase and Ledger also explore AI-powered wallets that can handle transactions and manage funds automatically.

Tether Commits $127.5M to Drift Protocol Recovery Plan Following $270M+ Exploit

Tether has committed up to $127.5 million to help Drift Protocol recover from its recent $270M+ hack, as part of a larger $150 million recovery plan. The funding will help repay affected users over time as the platform restarts and generates trading revenue. As part of the relaunch, Drift will switch its main trading settlement asset from USD Coin to Tether on Solana. The move aims to rebuild confidence in the platform, and the news has already boosted Drift’s token price, showing renewed optimism despite the earlier losses.

Bitcoin Surges Past $73,000 as Hot CPI Meets Fragile Ceasefire

Bitcoin surged past $73,000 this week, rising 1.8% in 24 hours and 9.4% over the week. Traders drove prices higher despite a hotter-than-expected March CPI report showing inflation jumped to 3.3% year-over-year, mainly due to a sharp rise in gasoline prices amid the conflict in Iran. The core inflation reading remained tame, calming markets and supporting the rally. Ethereum climbed to $2,250 while the total crypto market cap reached $2.55 trillion.

AAVE Slides Below $90 as Contributor Departures Weigh on DeFi's Largest Lender

AAVE slid below $90 this week, dropping as low as $85 before recovering slightly to around $88. The token has now lost roughly 75% of its value since its peak near $356 in August 2025. The sharp decline comes as three key contributors, Chaos Labs, BGD Labs, and the Aave Chan Initiative, exited the protocol amid a growing governance crisis. Chaos Labs cited disagreements over risk management and insufficient funding, while the others pointed to increasing centralization around Aave Labs.

Polygon, Frax, and Curve Launch Onchain Forex Liquidity Pools

Polygon, Frax, Curve Finance, and DFB Network launched new onchain forex liquidity pools on Polygon this week. The pools use Frax’s frxUSD as the base dollar pairing and enable fast, low-cost swaps between stablecoins pegged to the Brazilian real, Indonesian rupiah, British pound, Australian dollar, Korean won, and USDT. The partners also introduced incentives and reward gauges to bootstrap liquidity. They aim to bring transparent pricing and instant settlement to the massive $6.6 trillion daily global FX market.

Secret Claude model ‘better than all but the most skilled humans’ at hacking

Anthropic has developed a powerful new AI model called Mythos that excels at finding software vulnerabilities, reportedly better than all but the most skilled human hackers. The company quietly gave early access to this unreleased model through its Glasswing cybersecurity program to big names like JPMorgan Chase, Apple, and Microsoft, along with $4 million in free AI credits. Crypto companies were notably excluded from the list. Anthropic claims Mythos is highly autonomous and has already discovered thousands of high-severity bugs, including flaws in major operating systems and web browsers.

Drift Protocol — Incident Background Update

Drift Protocol revealed that attackers carried out its April 1, 2026, hack through a carefully planned social engineering operation that lasted about six months. The attackers posed as a legitimate trading firm, built trust with contributors through meetings, conversations, and real investments, and gradually gained access by sharing malicious tools like a compromised code repository and a fake wallet app. These tools may have exploited known software vulnerabilities to execute hidden code. After the attack, Drift froze protocol functions, removed compromised wallets, and began an investigation with Mandiant. Early evidence links the attackers to a North Korean-affiliated group connected to the Radiant Capital hack, showing how advanced and organized the operation was.

Crypto Markets Tumble as Iran Strikes Resume, Drift Exploit Rattles Solana

Crypto markets dropped sharply as rising geopolitical tensions and a major exploit shook investor confidence. Bitcoin fell below $67,000 while Ethereum lost over 4%, and Solana declined further after the Drift Protocol exploit. The sell-off followed Donald Trump’s statement that the U.S. would continue military strikes on Iran, which increased uncertainty and pushed investors toward safer assets. As a result, the total crypto market value fell, ETFs saw significant withdrawals, and about 185,000 traders were liquidated, showing widespread losses across the market.

Liquity accused of ‘market manipulation’ after Circle acquisition, April Fools’

Liquity faced criticism after posting an April Fools’ joke claiming it had been acquired by Circle, which briefly pushed up the price of its LQTY token by about 5% before it quickly dropped. Some users accused the move of being misleading and close to market manipulation, especially since the announcement looked realistic and triggered immediate trading activity. Others dismissed the reaction as overblown, noting the small price change. Liquity later clarified that the claim was only a joke, while Circle also confirmed that no acquisition had taken place, highlighting how April Fools’ posts in crypto can still influence markets and trader behavior.

Ethereum Foundation doubles staked ether, clearing two-thirds of 70,000 ETH target

The Ethereum Foundation has rapidly increased its staking activity, doubling the amount of Ethereum it has staked to 47,050 ETH (about $96.6 million), surpassing two-thirds of its 70,000 ETH target. This move, which began less than two weeks ago, reflects a shift in strategy to earn yield from its treasury instead of selling ETH to fund operations. The change follows its 2025 treasury policy update, which promotes more active use of reserves through staking and DeFi, marking a departure from past reliance on token sales that often drew criticism from the community.

Resolv Protocol Exploit Triggers Unauthorized Minting of $80M USR

Resolv Digital Assets Ltd. disclosed a security incident involving the Resolv Protocol, where a compromised private key enabled an attacker to mint approximately $80M in uncollateralized USR tokens. The breach was quickly contained by pausing affected smart contracts, and about 9M USR linked to the attacker has already been burned.

Aave Post-Mortem: $50M Swap Collapses to $36K After Trader Accepts 99.9% Price Impact

A trader lost nearly the entire value of a $50.4 million token swap on March 12, 2026, after executing a large trade through the swap widget on the Aave interface, which integrates the CoW Swap aggregator. The user attempted to swap aEthUSDT for aEthAAVE in an illiquid market and was quoted a price reflecting a 99.9% price impact, reducing the expected value to about $36,000. Despite clear warnings in the interface and a required confirmation acknowledging the possibility of a total loss, the user proceeded with the transaction. The swap was executed through external decentralized exchanges and did not affect the core Aave lending protocol. In response, Aave announced Aave Shield, a new safeguard that will automatically block swaps with price impacts above 25% unless users manually disable the protection.

Ethereum Foundation Publishes EF Mandate

The Ethereum Foundation has published the EF Mandate, a 38-page document outlining its role and long-term vision for the Ethereum ecosystem. The Foundation states that it does not control Ethereum but acts as a steward whose mission is to ensure the network remains decentralized, resilient, and capable of supporting user self-sovereignty. The document also reaffirms Ethereum’s core promise as a global “World Computer” that anyone can use permissionlessly, while enabling large-scale coordination without centralized authority. It emphasizes maintaining key principles—censorship resistance, open-source development, privacy, and security—as the baseline for decisions affecting the protocol and its ecosystem.

Binance probed by DoJ, files lawsuit against WSJ

Binance has sued The Wall Street Journal over what it calls defamatory reporting about internal investigations into crypto transfers linked to Iran. The reports claimed investigators found about $1.7 billion in crypto moving from Chinese entities to accounts connected to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard. Following the reports, the U.S. Department of Justice began contacting individuals with knowledge of the case, while U.S. senators launched a separate inquiry requesting documents from Binance.

Ethereum Foundation Outlines ‘Strawmap’ Through 2029

The Ethereum Foundation has released a long-term “strawmap” detailing how Ethereum could evolve through 2029, targeting faster transactions, greater capacity, and built-in privacy.

Crypto Capital Corp’s $850M collapse linked to Israeli mafia cocaine ring

The collapse of Crypto Capital Corp, once a key banking intermediary for exchanges like Bitfinex, continues to generate fallout years after authorities seized roughly $850 million in 2018–2019. Reginald Fowler is serving a prison term for bank and wire fraud, while Ivan Manuel Molina Lee is facing ongoing proceedings in Poland. Siblings Oz Yosef and Ravid Yosef remain fugitives.

Polish court disclosures allege that much of the seized funds were tied to an Israeli cocaine trafficking ring led by Shalom Lior Azoulay. Prosecutors claim drug proceeds were routed through European banks, converted into crypto, and recycled to finance further shipments from Colombia to Europe, though key defendants deny the allegations as legal proceedings continue.

Barclays Evaluates Blockchain-based Settlement

Barclays is assessing technology providers for a new blockchain-based settlement platform that would integrate stablecoins and tokenized deposits, according to Bloomberg. The British banking giant could select a vendor as soon as April as it responds to rising institutional demand for faster, more efficient digital settlement systems.

Fake Uniswap phishing ad on Google steals trader’s life savings

A crypto trader reportedly lost hundreds of thousands of dollars after clicking a fake Uniswap Google ad that led to a phishing site. After connecting their wallet and signing a malicious transaction, the attacker used a wallet-draining tool called AngelFerno to drain the account.

A single oracle misconfiguration on Moonwell mispriced cbETH at $1.12 instead of roughly $2,200, due to a missing ETH/USD multiplication in a governance-approved upgrade. Within 4 minutes, liquidation bots seized over 1,096 cbETH, leaving the protocol with $1.78 million in bad debt and borrowers with collateral wiped out.
