This is a story tied to my recent work titled ‘Brown Chips to Liquid’

I decided to recreate Marcel Duchamp’s Urinal as a basis for this GIF as it is the epitome of dada.The nonsensical nature details the likeness of many projects being released as of late. Why do people purchase horrible NFTs? Why aren’t true, consistent artists flourishing? Why do we trust the OGs and people with the most following behind them? What does all of this equate to?

One word… Liquid

Countless speculative buyers flock to the next BROWN CHIP PROJECT that they got word on to be ‘Alpha’ through a friend of a friend who made the project only to be maximising their profits on unsuspecting FOMO buyers that are left holding a worthless token tied to a PNG. Most of which are hosted on a Inter Planetary Filing System and barely stored on chain. The art itself at any moment could be gone. A complete outage and the pretty picture tied to your proof of authenticity token can disappear…

All in the name of ‘Art’

Utility never existed…

Sure a hoodie and a ticket to a few meet and greets is somewhat of a utility, serves the community right for injecting upwards of 3 Million USD into any NFT big business. They deserve more. Anon, where do these so called decentralised projects get off? They are the middleman we have tried to cut out.

Call me naive but I am starting to notice the only utility people truly care about is the feeling a project provokes when the floor price drops or rises.

With market manipulation at an all time high replicating the ICO craze we are doomed unless you support artists who are truly eager to restlessly explore the space and grow. SVG NFTs are the gold standard, you are actually flipping PNGs not JPEGs and most are shit coins tied to a pixelated procreate doodle. Stop trying to get rich leaving people in the dirt and start investing in hungry, relentless artists and developers.
