WBTC standardizes Bitcoin to the ERC20 format, creating smart contracts for Bitcoin. This makes it easier to write smart contracts that integrate Bitcoin transfers.

WBTC brings greater liquidity to the Ethereum ecosystem including decentralized exchanges (DEXs), and makes it possible to use Bitcoin for token trades.

Elon Musk said he'd HODL and not sell any dogecoin. He was doing the wrong way towards $doge. Dogecoin is the most decentralized, POW-based, peer-to-peer digital currency. (on the contrary, Reddit is a centralized forum thus it has no future. Haha) It was born to be used for everyday life (like paying at McDonald's), or for tipping the good services. However, using $doge needs both parties to have doge wallet. 7 years passed, yet how many people/businesses actually used $doge in real life? They can only trade dogecoin at CEXs, or HODL just like Elon Musk does. However, with wrapped dogecoin, it would be much easier to pay or tip $wDOGE with mobile wallets such as Argent or MetaMask. Also, why don't we start trading wrapped $doge at various DEXs on various smart chains? Or even make money by providing liquidity of wrapped $doge at DEXs.

We saw Ren Protocol has done some marvellous work by wrapping $doge and introducing it to Ethereum MainNet. However, so far the market cap of $renDOGE is only $1 million, and not so many trades are made each day. Considering the level of gas fees and the fast development of many EVM-compliant ecosystems, we believe it'd be best if $wDOGE can be introduced into Ethereum Classic(which is also POW-based) first, and L1s or Layer2 EVMs will follow.

Thus we established the wDOGE DAO at Aragon. The wDOGE DAO aims to export wrapped dogecoin into all major EVM-compliant ECOsystems.
