Base App is coming out of Beta this year and Farcaster focuses on being a wallet. That means Coinbase Wallet (the app now called Base) changes to be "creator focused" (i'd argue the actions map more towards speculation, trading and betting on traders) while Farcaster goes from Social network first to Wallet first, stay for the network.

Stablecoins and Blockchain are real and there's opportunity in the institutional space and the extremely non institutional space. The middle ground is rough. They will converge, but currently there is not enough liquidity and usage in the middle between "digital assets" on the institutional side and the extreme "coin everything" crowd.

Financial assets are underrated. Doing games and tokens is the low hanging fruit. Too many tokens without cash flows exist that by laws of economics have to go to zero. It's a hot potato game, you either eat it fast enough to get full or you'll be burnt.

What financial assets? all kinds of loan access could be made way more exessible with more liquidity and faster funding via AI x Crypto. AI and automations to approve loans based on available data and APIs of the companies/individuals bank providers and goverments with crypto like Morpho vaults to accomodate the matching of lenders to these approved borrowers.

The centerpiece projects include the Open Intents Framework for modular crosschain operations, the Ethereum Interoperability Layer for trustless cross-L2 transactions, and a fast L1 confirmation rule that provides strong security guarantees much earlier than full finality. These efforts aim to make Ethereum feel like a unified chain again while maintaining its core values of censorship resistance, privacy, and security across the fragmented L1 and L2 ecosystem.

What I found incredible in conversations this week is how XMTP in Coinbase wallet is so interopable that one can use XMTP standalone on their webpage and as long as users have their base.eth wallet on the webpage or your own mobile app too it's the same chat they'll see in the base app too.

Don't underestimate the Indian community. Get to know it. I am writing this from Goa India as part of the FBI Based Fellowship. People are developing applications and learning way faster then anywhere else. That means there's real experience being gained that most will lack as Mini Apps grow.

Mainly chugging along without major big splashes beyond the rewards algorithm. The growth statistics continue to be flat with business interest remaining strong. Companies realise Farcaster has an Ethereum native way to reach users and drive usage that they want to capitalize on especially with Coinbase putting distribution behind the Base app.

The main reason to really look deep into the rewards changes and keep an eye on them is that the Farcaster team promoted Farcaster Pro (>2 Million USD in revenue from it) as giving benefits like 10.000 character long casts, 4 embeds (think images, videos mini apps) per cast AND donating all that revenue back to protocol rewards. Well now one client (Base app) won't get these rewards. So any protocol post done from that client will get Base app rewards, but not the Farcaster rewards.
