Web Stages

Our world is changing. Not only in real life, but also in virtual. Technology has a special place in our daily life, adjusts to its new rules and brings down the news flow of information. Sometimes if you don’t go to the social network for 2-3 days you feel like an old person. Because everything is changing so fast.

To begin with, today there are three stages in the evolution of the network. They have changed since the dawn of the internet. It is difficult to say that the WEB3 era is now underway, because it is possible to describe the WEB era only after it has passed. This is the reason why we characterize Web 1.0 as the Read-only era.

It's hard to imagine, but from 1991 to 2004, people could only afford to read the news, listen to music and watch movies. In other words, people only consumed the information that the server owners gave them.

Since 2004, a new era of Web 2.0 has begun. We are now in it, smoothly moving into the next one. But not about that yet. It is worth noting that the prerequisites for the emergence of a new era was that in 1995, Amazon gave its users the opportunity to write comments. "Gave an opportunity." Sounds wild, doesn't it?

Web 2.0 has brought tremendous changes to the way people interact with the Internet. It seems to me that the main achievement of this era has appeared - social networks. People were finally able not only to consume information, but also to share it. The era of Web 2.0 can be called the era of lack of privacy.

What to expect from WEB 3.0?

Discontent, like laziness, is also the engine of the process. Expectations from Web 3.0 are formed from the shortcomings of the previous version: the lack of privacy and partially copyright.

The problem is that any information uploaded to the network becomes public. It is shared, which is not so bad, but worse, it is stolen. The next generation Internet should give people back copyright over their content, giving them the ability to protect their work from thieves. One possible solution is NFT.

NFT (non-fungible token) is a non-fungible token. In simple terms, this is a unit of account that confirms the uniqueness of digital content, allowing it to retain copyright. By the way, with the help of NFT, it will become easier for content owners to monetize their creativity and make a profit.

Conclusion

The Internet is no longer just pages with news and music. Tim O'Reilly described Web 3.0 as "interaction of the Internet with the physical world". The Metaverse goes beyond social media and video games. The catalyst for the process was the period of the pandemic and quarantine. Online, remote format have become something familiar and people began to master all its advantages and possibilities. For profit and a comfortable life.

So far, these are all assumptions, ideas, projects that require improvements. Perhaps there will be options more interesting or more convenient. It remains to wait.
