Norm let out a laugh. “OK then, sharpshooter, how about this? Let’s see, of the three of us, who can catch the most flies in the morning.”

Dex took his contest invigilator role seriously, having already arranged the event’s details. “Contestants?” he called out. All three competitors hopped forward to the croaks of the spectators. “The challenge is to catch the most flies, all flies, but only flies, within the pond and its surroundings, within the time it takes for the shadow of the great oak to retreat to the other side of the pond.” The crowd paused, admiring the fresh expanse of the pond on this crisp morning.

“Each of you has been assigned a companion to tally your captures and report any unfroggy play,” Dex announced. “Any questions?”

“Nope,” Norm replied, the others shook their heads.

“Alright, let’s begin. Frogs ready, set, GO!” Dex declared, signaling the start of the contest.

A wave of cheers and croaks propelled the fly hunters on their way, each with their scorers in tow. Quickly off the mark, Norm managed to snag a low-flying target on his way to the bank, starting his tally. Oliver dashed toward the tree line while Milly sought to nestle among her favorite reeds section.

With tongue flicking erratically, Norm leaped from lily pad to lily pad, swiftly amassing points. He even frog-splashed close to the reeds to stir things up. Milly cast him a frosty glare but continued to sit still patiently. Lurking around the trees, Oliver started to pick off targets from the cover of the shade.

Their hunting styles varied greatly. Norm’s method was hit-or-miss as he plunged into the thick of the action, flicking his tongue at anything that moved. Oliver waited for opportune moments, bagging multiple targets on his long, sticky tongue in one go. Milly, the group sniper, expertly picked off any buzzing intruders that wandered across her sights, rarely missing the mark.

The oak’s shadowy protection retreated across the pond as the minutes passed. Contestants and onlookers alike were wary of prolonged exposure to the sun, but sometimes, that was where the richest pickings were.

Milly’s ambush tactics started to pay off as she methodically ambushed fly after fly that landed on the reeds around her. Meanwhile, Oliver persisted in seeking opportunities to add to his tally in multiples whenever possible.

The competitors seized the chance to relocate to different hunting spots as needed. Follow the flies.

Some of Norm’s friends spotted a dense swarm of flies congregating on some rotting plants and sent out a hefty croaking call to get his attention. Weary but determined, Norm slowly headed there to investigate the frenzy.

As each successful capture was made around the pond, cheers and croaks followed from the onlookers.

As the sun climbed higher in the sky, the shrinking shade indicated that time was running out. The scrutineers remained tight-lipped, but the crowd sensed that the scores would be close.

With one final capture and cheer, the pond was now wholly bathed in sunlight. “That’s it,” Dex shouted, prompting the nimble escorts to break off and return to contest headquarters swiftly. The croaks of the community rang out as they retreated to the cover of the willow to await the outcome.

Norm welcomed Oliver with a playful slap on his back as Milly hopped over beside them.

“Well, that was fun,” Norm said confidently.

“It was,” Milly agreed, and Oliver croaked in endorsement.

Dex was deep in concentration, attentively listening to the scrutineers' reports. After a minute of consolidating their findings, he turned and approached the expectant crowd.

“We have a result,” Dex croaked. “Oliver, 36 flies,” eliciting impressed croaks from the collective. Oliver took a bow and chuckled.

“Milly, 44 flies,” Dex announced to the continued croaks. Milly nodded and smiled.

“Norm, 46.” The crowd erupted for the winner, croaking and jumping high in celebration.

“However…” Dex added, holding up a limb, causing the crowd to hush. “I’m told that three of the captures were dragonflies, and therefore not true flies.”

After an awkward silence, a blue frog yelled from the back, “So?”

“Milly wins,” Dex said plainly.

The crowd erupted again for the new winner.

“Oh, come on, I couldn’t tell,” Norm said but took his medicine with a chuckle. “Not bad, I’ll get you next time,” he turned and said to Milly.

“Might, might not,” she retorted, containing most of her excitement.

Charm smirked and hopped forward to address the froggy swarm. “Congratulations to the winner, and well done to all the contestants. It seems that different approaches can work in different situations. Would you agree?”

Nods and croaks came from the collective as they turned to the winner for a final remark.

“Perhaps, but let’s make this a place where any frog can catch a fly,” Milly added, inciting the loudest round of cheers.

After a long night, the frogs felt weary but also relieved. The collective had banded together to keep safe during the storm, so a more subdued set of activities was playing out this morning. Some frogs were engaged in early chats, while others sought an extended rest either perched in trees or nestled snuggly among the waterlogged reeds.

Others were up and about as normal. Ruby, with her vibrant red coloring and light green eyes, was determined to continue her early morning ritual of swimming across the pond and back.

The embankment remained soggy, but the water was cool and refreshing. Though calmer now, the delicate water lilies and pads bore the marks of the aerial assault of hail. Ruby plunged into the pond and began her graceful movement upon the surface, noticing that debris and sediment had clouded up the water more than usual.

This was her quiet time, and she savored the tranquility of the dawn pond. She efficiently reached the other side and began her return journey as the sun started to peak over the horizon, turning up the day’s dimmer switch just a little.

As Ruby again reached the middle of the pond, she decided to switch to backstroke and take in the colors of the fresh sky. Suddenly, she spotted a hungry heron flying overhead and swiftly turned over, diving into the depths to evade its glare. As she descended through the haze of the cloudy pond, she noticed a faint blue glow. Intrigued, she kept diving, and the glow grew brighter, to her surprise.

Upon reaching it, she brushed away some sediment to reveal a radiant object: a diamond-shaped gem as big as herself, too large to retrieve alone. Its blue hue was captivating.

Returning to the surface, Ruby completely forgot about the heron and swam directly back to the bank to share her discovery. Approaching a group of frogs admiring the early morning mist on the hill, Ruby exclaimed, "Hey, I found something! Something is shining on the bottom of the pond."

"Shining?" Dex interjected after hearing the news. "That sounds a bit unusual."

"Yeah, but I can't bring it up by myself. Who's willing to help?" she asked.

A few croaks emerged from the crowd, but most frogs seemed disinterested or were already in sleep mode.

"Come on, you..."

Suddenly, a couple of nimble frogs leaped from a nearby tree branch and landed beside Ruby. With dark eyes and skin, they looked almost identical, except one had remnants of a meal still protruding from their mouth. “Let’s do it,” Zee and Kee said in unison.

“Alright, thanks,” Ruby replied, still amazed by their display of agility.

She led the way back to the middle of the pond and disappeared beneath the surface, with the others following suit. After a few minutes, they resurfaced, grasping the diamond-shaped object that was indeed glowing a light blue. With a concerted effort, they heaved it onto a nearby lily pad and began towing it to shore. A gathering of curious frogs who witnessed the watery salvage had assembled, now eager to assist. Before long, a lively discussion ensued about the mysterious object.

“Is it hot?” came a question from the crowd.

“No, and it’s not cold either,” Ruby confirmed.

“Where did it come from?” another inquired.

“The ground? The sky?” suggested by others.

“Perhaps neither. I suspect it was washed into the pond during the storm,” Dex suggested. “From where, I don’t know.”

“What is it for?” another queried.

The croaking and murmuring continued as splinter discussions erupted everywhere.

“I hope it’s not dangerous.“ a frog from the back said.

“It hasn’t made us feel sick,” Ruby responded. “On the contrary, croaking from my brief experience, it seems to make those close to it feel great.”

Zee and Kee croaked with agreement before performing a synchronized backflip to the crowd's delight.

“Well, what should we do with it?” Dex asked.

“Keep it,” echoed resoundingly from the gathering.

“So, where exactly should we put this… pond light?” Dex inquired.

Looking around, Ruby spotted a hollow in the trunk of the willow that would be perfect. “There!” she pointed. A round of croaks endorsed the proposal.

The Light was ceremoniously carried over and placed within the hollow where all frogs could see it. It was a diamond-shaped object, discovered amidst the pond depths in sediment, that now cast a glow upon the community. No one knew what it was, its origin, or its purpose. However, all seemed to agree that it was exceptional.

The frogs were swiftly adapting to their new environment and community. There was plenty of time for anything their froggy hearts desired—swimming, eating, exploring, playing, chatting, relaxing. They were just busy being happy. 🐸

Frog life tends to come alive as the sun drops lower in the sky and the activity around the pond picks up. It continues all afternoon and evening and into the early morning until the sun's glare makes vibing too uncomfortable. Today was just such a day.

The day's heat was quenched by an afternoon change that brought a cooling breeze across the pond. As the temperature started to drop, clouds began to gather in the distance. ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

Several community members began to scope out their new hunting grounds for a few juicy morsels.

As the sky grew increasingly overcast, the air took on an eerie green tinge. Faint flashes of lightning began to flicker within the depths of the thickening clouds in the distance while the thunder sounded its muted rumblings from afar.

However, this didn’t appear to bother the amphibious habitats. Water is life here.💚

Within minutes, another round of games had commenced. The latest derivative of lily pad races was a spectacle to behold. Norm suggested each participant had to complete the course while carrying a live worm in their mouth the whole time.

The sky began to fill with denser and darker clouds, casting a rolling shadow across Linea. The gentle breeze was replaced by strengthening gusts that sent leaves flying and caused the surrounding reeds to sway and bend.

The lily pad racers were engrossed in the latest contest and didn’t notice the weather front rolling toward them. It wasn’t until a bright flash and nearby crack of thunder startled the race leaders, causing a pileup, that the event was paused.

Teddy jumped clear of his bracken shelter near the embankment to take in the commotion. Just beyond the other side of the pond, he noticed objects falling from the sky that looked like little white stones. They were now peppering the pond, sending up splashes with every hit.

“Hey, you guys!” Teddy shouted, pointing away, “Look!” 👁️👁️

Norm recognized the voice and turned. He couldn’t immediately make sense of the splashes happening all around him. It wasn’t until the lily pad he was sitting on received a direct hit, causing a sizable hole, that he suddenly understood the gravity of the situation. A direct hit by one of those would mean one less frog in the pond.

“Everyone, back to the bank!” he yelled and sprang forth. The others followed his lead. Those near the embankment were croaking encouragement to those fleeing the hail.

“Come on!” Teddy barked.

Charm bounded over to help usher the frogs, scrambling back to the relative safety of the willow canopy. It was a dramatic lily pad race and swim unlike any other. After a moment, all had managed to return. Taking a moment to catch their breath, they saw the hail stop and be replaced by rain… heavy rain.

The pond's surface was now pounded into a boiling fabric of tiny, watery explosions. The roar of the rain and the constant rolls of the thunder drowned out everything else. Normally, the frogs would be excited for a chance to frolic in the rain, however, the hail had momentarily halted their sense of adventure.

Rain continued to fall on the pond and its surroundings, cascading from nearby hills over the moist terrain. As the volume of water dropped from the sky increased, streams and waterways sprung back to life. The ground took in as much moisture as possible before returning it as a rising floodplain.

The community continued to huddle near the willow roots as the pond level continued to rise. Charm took the opportunity to reassure them: “It is only water, after all, dear frogs.”

Suddenly, a torrent of water carved its way along the edge of the forest, breaking around trees as it cascaded into the gathering of frogs and knocked a couple off their feet, sweeping them away. A quick-thinking frog darted out and snatched them from the stream, which skipped over the bank's edge and away into the forest. Ethan, stout and blue with a toothy grimace, held the frogs in his strong grip, moving against the watery current.

“Everyone, hang on to each other!” Ethan shouted.

There was no time to lose. “Yes. Frogs together!” Charm called out.

With this, the closest frogs grasped tight to the willow roots. Others followed suit, forming a chain. A frog to the left and one to the right, one in front and one behind. Soon there was a tightly knitted, interlocking mesh of frogs holding firm on the edge of the pond.

The flash stream continued to flood over them and away, but they held tight. Minute after minute and wave after wave the frog mesh held. Underwater and out of sight, their job was simple: hold onto the frog next to you.

And they did.

After some time, the rain stopped, the streams eased up, and the moving water lost its force. The fast-moving clouds moved away, and the light came back. Soon, the water flow pushing over the pond's banks slowed, too. Row by row, they unclenched from the frog matrix and took stock of their surroundings. The pond was full, the bank was flooded, and the community was weary.

“Look,” a gray frog motioned skyward.

The frogs turned to see a break in the clouds, and a vivid swathe of colors peeked through. As the clouds continued to roll away, the rainbow stretched further and further across the sky. Smiles and croaks once again rang out and continued into the night. 🌈🌤️

Today was the day the community held… all frogs together.

So many frogs of all shapes, colors, and sizes had converged on the pond.

There were black, white, gray, red, and blue frogs, green frogs, orange frogs, and even multi-colored frogs.

Some had spots that traveled some way, and others gleamed like jewels on display. There were bony types, furry tykes, and others that puffed like kings.

And those that came from drier parts and others of frosty things. Some were all mysterious and masters of the chase. But every single frog that came was welcome in this place. ✅

A sizable group of frogs began to congregate on a wide stretch of the bank beneath the shade of a grand oak. Teddy made sure he was part of the crowd. The town hall-style gathering drew the attention of most of the new amphibious community, although others appeared less inclined to engage in anything that resembled a structured discussion.

This was evident in the fiercely contested game of flogsplash, where participants launched from a small, grassy island to see who could make the biggest spray upon landing. Norm was high on the leaderboard.

Some were preoccupied with exploring the pond's surroundings, while others seized the chance to relax on a lily pad and take in the ambiance and good vibes that were enveloping them. Eventually, even the least interested frogs found their curiosity piqued enough to move toward the rest of the group.

A confident frog with a friendly demeanor and glowing red eyes leaped onto a rock to be better seen and heard. He had an air or natural leadership that the others recognized.

“Welcome friends,” he started, the happiness on his smirking face evident. I’m Charm. It is delightful to witness such a froggy gathering here today.”

“Dex?” Charm directed his attention toward an intelligent-looking crystal frog. “What’s the count?”

“2015,” Dex confirmed.

“2015 strong, indeed,” Charm remarked, amazed.

Croaks and murmurs rippled through the crowd. ”I’ve never been part of such a large community before,” claimed an orange frog with spots.

“No, this might be the first of its kind here,” Charm responded. “But think about what we could achieve with a group this size.”

“You know a group of frogs is called an army,” Dex chimed in, hoping to add to the excitement.

The murmurs swelled once more.

“Thanks, Dex.” Charm acknowledged. “And what a driving force we could be!”

Once the croaking had subsided, an inquisitive blue frog spoke up, voicing the question on everyone’s mind. “So, what exactly is this place?”

“It's a remarkable place from what we’ve seen. Somewhere that has drawn hundreds, many hundreds, of our frog brothers and sisters. Truly, a special community,” Charm stated.

“This pond is wonderful,” came an ecstatic voice from the crowd.

“Indeed, with plenty of food and natural structure,” Charm acknowledged.

“And so much space for activities,” a furry frog sitting beside Norm stated, triggering a round of croaks.

Charm welcomed a pale desert frog with black eyes onto the rock. Teddy moved closer to hear the new speaker.

“Hello, I’m Bea. I’ve lived and hibernated around the surrounding connected waterways for many, many years, and I’ve never seen a pond or a gathering like this… ever.”

“Are there other ponds like this out there?” came a question from the third row.

“Yes, in the world out there, but nothing quite like this. I’ve never witnessed anything like it in Linea before,” Bea explained.

“Linea?” Teddy interjected, unsure of anywhere beyond his hatch place.

“That’s the name of our world,” Bea confirmed.

The group paused, absorbing the statement, before Norm blurted out, “We’re the first group of frogs in Linea?!”

“Yes,” Bea replied amidst the croaks and cheers from the froggy assembly.

Charm held a strong, padded foot and waited for the croaks to subside. “And remember, a Frog is a Frog, and every croak matters here. I have no doubt that we will be happy in all our successes.”

A concerted croak echoed around the pond, and positive froggy vibes reigned all day. It was just the start of something special—a collection of 2015 frogs eager to make their mark in a new corner of the world.

Ahead were a series of puddles intermingled with trees and ferns. Setting its sights on a nearby fern, the frog took aim, readied itself, and then sprung… through the air with outstretched limbs to catch the soft foliage. Yet, upon landing, the fern yielded and tipped the jumper backward into a puddle, sending up a spray of murky water.

“Whoa!” came a startled response from nearby.

Rising to his feet, the tree frog glanced around, only to lock eyes with another frog sporting a confident grin. This stockier and orange frog exuded a commanding presence without trying.

“You, okay?” the stranger asked in a deep voice.

After quickly wiping his eyes with a wet foot, the green frog replied, “Sure.”

“Wouldn’t catch me trying to land on that stuff.” He motioned towards the delicate foliage of the fern. “I’m built different.”

“I don’t think I should’ve either.”

The pair looked at each other for another hard moment before the bulgy one spoke again. “I’m Norm.”

“…Teddy,” the green frog reluctantly replied. He’d never seen this guy before and wasn’t used to having too much company. He readied himself to jump again to get clear of the puddle.

“I’m heading this way too,” Norm said, lifting a meaty foreleg in their facing direction.

“Well, I’m not quite sure where I am heading. I’m sort of just…”

“Following your gut?”

Teddy glanced at Norm in a manner that revealed he was about to say the same thing.

“Yeah, me too,” Norm said.

Resigned to the reality of their newfound traveling companionship, the pair set off to navigate the rest of the water-logged ground under the canopy of ferns.

Teddy proceeded with a measured rhythm, carefully selecting optimal landing spots with each deliberate hop. In contrast, Norm's movements were less precise, alternating between hopping and walking, his sturdy frame resting wherever pleased.

“It was strange,” Norm said. “I was just out waiting for a meal to crawl by, and I just got a feeling to try this way. Like, I’d be luckier over here, sort of thing,” Norm said. “What about you?”

“Something like that I suppose,” Teddy replied. He felt that the nature of the encounter was becoming increasingly unusual.

“Funny how these things work, isn’t it?” Norm said.

Jumping through a dense thicket of bracken, they emerged from the leafy canopy to behold some lights ahead. Moonbeams began to filter through the foliage, casting gentle rays, while a refreshing scent of mint wafted on the breeze.

Any thoughts of hunger had vanished, replaced by increasing curiosity and a hint of adventure. It was a place neither of them had been to before.

After traversing an obstacle course of gnarled surface roots from an old willow tree, the adventurers emerged bathed in light. Their eager gaze caught the shimmering reflection of moonlight bouncing off a body of water that extended before them – a tranquil pond.

Teddy descended the gentle embankment to the pond’s edge and plunged his front feet into the cool water.

"Whoa!" Norm exclaimed for the second time that evening. Teddy glanced back, noticing Norm's wide-eyed stare directed towards the opposite side of the pond.

Scanning the pond's perimeter, he couldn't believe what he saw. Hundreds of frogs converged on the water's edge, each of varying shapes and colors, all gazing wonderfully at the amphibious gathering spectacle unfolding before them.

“Where did we all come from?” Norm asked.

“I'm not sure… but this feels like the place to be,” Teddy replied as a chorus of croaks began to reverberate around the pond.

This Discord is where we forge friendships and lay the groundwork for more froggy adventures. This is a public discord server open to all “frogs” from across the world. You can go a bit crazy frog in here and get creative with memes and froggy things.

This is reserved for our Efrogs Holders only. It's where we get down to "serious" froggy business. Alpha, plans, perks. Besides having our public pond, joining Linea Discord and visiting their main channel help us spread positive vibes and showcase our community's strength. • This phase extends until the minting day, ensuring ample time for everyone to participate and potentially secure a Free Ethereum Frog through contests.

• You can qualify for this tier at any point during the whitelist campaign.

Tier Two: Whitelist Exclusive (Minting: March 20th)

• 800 Efrogs await in this exclusive whitelist tier, where every wallet can mint up to 10 frogs per wallet.

• Our most vital community members and most active whitelist campaigners will earn spots.

• You can have up to 5 addresses on this whitelist if you qualify! So get hopping.
