And that is exactly how Fooling started.

First, the confession

This is an April Fool's news website.
All stories are fake.
All sources are fake.
All certainty is fake.
The confidence, unfortunately, is real.

We are not hiding this. We are framing this.

The whole point is to show how easy it is for AI to produce “looks-legit” information with:

• serious tone,

• polished structure,

• dramatic quotes,

• suspiciously specific numbers,

• and just enough plausibility to make your brain go, “...wait.”

Why this project exists

Because April Fool's Day deserved an upgrade.

Not another one-off prank banner.
Not another fake coupon popup.

We wanted a living fake newsroom:

• continuously updated,

• strangely coherent,

• increasingly absurd,

• and uncomfortably believable at first glance.

If modern misinformation is mass-produced, then media literacy should also be mass-practiced.
Fooling is that practice range — except with better headlines and more pigeons.

The site fantasy (and the system reality)

On the surface, Fooling looks like a normal publication:

• sections,

• headlines,

• bylines,

• timestamps,

• article pages,

• search and feeds.

Under the hood, it's a full satire engine:

• scheduled generation cycles,

• model-driven article drafting,

• moderation checks,

• image pipeline with fallback logic,

• indexed publishing,

• operations logs and reporting.

Translation: this is not a static joke page.
This is a factory that manufactures polished nonsense on a timetable.

Not random jokes. A progressing fake universe.

Most satire feeds throw disconnected bits at your timeline.
Today: moon taxes.
Tomorrow: AI mayors.
The next day: everyone forgets.

Fooling keeps memory.

We maintain world-state continuity so characters, organizations, and conflicts can evolve instead of resetting every day.
A ridiculous event today can become policy tomorrow and scandal next week.

That makes the reading experience feel less like “scrolling memes” and more like “following a parallel civilization with excellent PR.”

Yes, we update it regularly

This site keeps moving.

New fake stories are generated on schedule, indexed, published, and surfaced.
In other words: the chaos is automated.

And because this is still a product, not just a bit, we also built:

• deploy/verify scripts,

• health endpoints,

• run reports,

• backfill tools,

• and image recovery paths.

If satire is theater, operations is stage management.
No stage management, no show.

About the visuals: no more copy-paste nonsense

We learned quickly that repeated images make the whole thing look lazy.

So the image strategy now goes:

1. AI image generation first.

2. De-duplicated fallback selection.

3. Final emergency fallback: a giant single emoji on a dramatic background — intentionally absurd, visually clean, unmistakably unserious.

Which is to say: even our fallback has a personality disorder, but at least it's curated.

The dramatic reveal you already knew was coming

Fooling is a fake-news site, yes.
But the point is not to trick you into believing fake stories.

The point is to train your reflex:

• question confidence,

• inspect sources,

• verify claims,

• distrust polish as proof.
