Unfortunatley Chrome on Android dont support Chrome web extension. Fortunatley there is a workarround. On the Play Store is a browser called “Kiwi Browser” which is Chrome based.

With Kiwi you can install Chrome extensions. (Including the Unification Web Wallet). The usage on a phone is a little more complicated than on Desktop.

Open the KIWI browser and click the icon shown in the picture.

Find the **Unification web wallet **at the bottom of the list and open it.

Select My wallet and create a new wallet (if you already have a wallet, press unlock wallet) .

create a password and click Create
then write down your **secret phrase **and click the checkmark that you have saved it.

You will save the key — file (to access the wallet) in the download folder

What to expect

Pretty much everything that has been previously outlined for Phase 1:

What NOT to expect

Perfection. Whilst we have endeavoured to find/fix bugs and optimise the platform, it’s still a beta, so there will be issues that were not picked up during our smaller scale alpha testing. Bugs are an inevitability with software, and the wider scale public beta will help us catch and kill anything we missed, overlooked or were not even aware of during alpha testing. This is, of course, all a part of a large scale changes required as we move into Phase 2.

Since this is a beta, we will be offering bug bounties. Details to follow.

What next?

In parallel with bug fixing and optimising Phase 1 during the public beta, we will soon be starting planning and development for UNoDE Phase 2 — beginning the SaaS chapter of UNoDE.

With Phase 2, we aim to develop tools to allow potential operators* *to spin up their own RPC infrastructure and join the UNoDE family. Along with revenue sharing, this will help propel UNoDE into becoming a truly decentralised NaaS platform unlike any existing options today.

Phase 2 outline

Phase 2 of the UNoDE project aims to focus on implementing the SaaS (software as a service) aspect, in order to provide a decentralised network of NaaS RPC nodes.

UNoDE aims to offer a suite of scripts and tools allowing potential third party UNoDE Operators to deploy their own RPC nodes and connect them to the UNoDE API.

The UNoDE backend will maintain a list of “healthy” third party nodes, allowing the end-user API to route requests to these nodes. We aim to have these requests be load balanced, and also routed based on IP geo-location to reduce potential network latency incurred by third party nodes being situated in a different physical location.

The UNoDE backend also aims to maintain a history of the number of requests successfully routed to and served by third party nodes, so that some of the revenue earned from UNoDE subscriptions can be shared with third party UNoDE Operators.

What does all this mean? For the vast majority of end-users (developers, traders etc.), this should be a seamless implementation, and no changes should be required on their part. Existing API keys will remain the same, so the transition should be smooth.

For potential Node Operators, there will be some new sections in the UNoDE UI, allowing the generation of a new API key which is used specifically for registering their RPC nodes to the UNoDE network. Additionally, Node Operators should have access to a new area of the UI giving an overview of their nodes and data such as health status, number of requests served, and their current share of revenue, history etc.

We will be reaching out to our existing alpha testers during Phase 2 development, and will also eventually open up registration for new alpha testers.

True network decentralisation — including revenue sharing, and sustained growth together — has been the bastion pillar of Unification and will continue to a much deeper chapter as we expand our development into the next phase of UNoDE. Time flies by… the last update only seems like a couple of weeks ago! Since then we’ve been incredibly busy behind the scenes. The last couple of months have seen another successful MainNet upgrade — arguably the smoothest and fastest upgrade to date. A huge Thank You! to our fantastic Validator community who were on the ball as usual, and quick to help each other during the upgrade. We really are blessed!

The upgrade - code-named “grog” - bumped Cosmos SDK from v0.45.9 to v0.45.14, and ibc-go from v3.1.0 to v3.4.0. Due to both a minor state migration implemented by ibc-go and per the recommendation from Cosmos (see release notes for v0.45.12), it required a coordinated upgrade via a Governance proposal. At MainNet block 4,727,000 (19th April, 2023 10:31 UTC), all nodes on the network halted and upgraded. The process took around 15–20 minutes, and the vast majority of Validators were back online to produce block 4,727,001 within that time.

Dev Work to Date

A lot of work has been happening in the background these past couple of months. Not long after the MainNet upgrade, planning and coding began for the next upgrade. In addition, we advised the fantastic Shibarium team with their public beta testnet deployment, and have also working on deploying OoO and VOR on the Shibarium L2 testnet.

Mainchain Cosmos SDK & IBC Upgrade

Cosmos SDK v0.45.15 was the final release in the v0.45 branch. As such, we have begun work on updating und to implement Cosmos SDK v0.46.x. This also requires ibc-go to be updated to at least v5.2.0. Code-named “keyleth”, the repo has already seen a significant number of updates and commits. Due to the scale of the updates, and the amount of code requiring modification and refactoring, we anticipate spending at least a few more weeks thoroughly checking and testing the codebase before rolling out to TestNet (which we’re aiming for towards the end of Q2). The MainNet rollout will follow the usual schedule of first ensuring that TestNet is stable for a couple of weeks.

This upgrade will bring Mainchain up to date with the latest stable release of Cosmos SDK.

Mainchain Upgrade Simulator

Over the years, we have developed quite a number of bash scripts and Docker environments which have been used to test each of the coordinated upgrades in a configurable self-contained DevNet, prior to releasing and upgrading TestNet. The past couple of Mainchain upgrades have allowed us to refine and collate these into a reusable simulator, which has been used internally (in various iterations) to test the previous upgrades for und v1.6.x, v1.7.x and will be used to test the upcoming v1.8.x upgrade.

The upgrade simulator allows a DevNet to be configured with a specified number of validators, sentries, seeds and RPCs. In addition, it also spins up a tiny second chain for testing IBC transfers and deploys a Hermes instance to facilitate the transfers. Finally, several bash scripts are generated, which run within a dedicated Docker container, and which generate and broadcast test transactions to the DevNet. These include standard Cosmos transactions (randomised FUND transfers, staking, governance proposals etc.), Unification specific transactions (WrkChains, BEACONs and Enterprise), and IBC transfers between DevNet and the small IBC chain.

For those interested, we have published the code in a Github repo.

WIP

OoO & VOR Deployment on Shibarium testnet

We are currently in the process of deploying both VOR and OoO on Shibarium beta testnet. To date, we have deployed the xFUND Test token on Shibarium beta testnet, and have successfully bridged L1 to L2. We have also successfully transferred xFUND test tokens between L1 (Goerli) and L2. The next stage will be to deploy the respective OoO and VOR Router smart contracts on Shibarium L2, and finally spinning up the Oracle applications to serve data requests.

Details will be published in the respective documentation in due course.

Cosmos SDK & IBC Upgrade

Much of the WIP left for the Cosmos/IBC upgrade revolves around QA and testing. This includes ensuring all required code has been correctly migrated as per the Cosmos migration guides, unit tests are working and the built-in simulators run correctly without error. Once verified, the next step will be to test several DevNet upgrades of various sizes using our Mainchain Upgrade Simulator.

OoO Data requests

We have also received a couple of interesting requests regarding additional data types that OoO could potentially support. These are currently under consideration for future OoO development:

1. The ability to query historical price data from a specified time

2. The ability to query gas prices — both current and historical

The OoO Data Request API has been developed in such a way that a variety of data can potentially be plugged in without disrupting the existing smart contracts or infrastructure, so watch this space.

UNoDE

Whilst we are still maintaining a fair bit of secrecy around UNoDE, we can reveal that we have moved from the R&D phase into full scale development. As development progresses over the coming months, we may be at liberty to reveal more — and perhaps even begin inviting some trusted early alpha testers. We anticipate alpha deployment some time in Q3.

Blockchains can be understood as decentralized databases.

We present a guide to auto-compounding using the REStake service
on FUNDBaron validator.

Intro

REStake is a script that can be run by a Validator to allow their Delegators to auto-compound their rewards. Essentially, this will automatically restake rewards for a Delegator after a certain period of time chosen by the Validator. This means there is no longer a need to manually compound your own FUND, instead you can allow this service to do it for you. It is very comfortable.

The REStake auto-compound timer on FUNDBaron validator is set to go on every day at 13:00 PM UTC if you have at least 1 FUND of rewards available.

Setup

Thankfully, setup is very easy on the Delegator’s side, only Keplr wallet is required. With Keplr wallet, you will need to add the Unification chain. There are multiple ways of doing this (see: How to add Unification network in Keplr wallet).

This can also be done by simply navigating to the Unification Page on REStake once you have a Keplr wallet setup. If you do not have the Unification chain added, it will prompt you to add the chain when visiting this page. After adding the chain, you will then be prompted to allow REStake to connect to your wallet. If you are not yet Delegated with FUNDBaron validator, you can do so from this page. Simply click “Delegate” and enter the amount you would like to Delegate. Once Delegated, you can now hit the “Enable” Button.

You have two options on this page:

Max amount* — *This is the maximum amount you are allowing FUNDBaron to restake for you. You can leave this blank for an unlimited amount.

Example: if this value is set to 50 FUND, then once a total of 50 FUND has been restaked on your behalf by FUNDBaron, the grant expires.

***Expiry date ****— *This is the date that the grant expires. After this date, FUNDBaron will no longer be able to redelegate for you. You will need to restart the restake process for your delegation.

You can always opt out at any time you want, the expiration date is simply a hard date to end the auto-compounding.

After inputting these fields, you can now click “Enable REStake” to allow auto-restaking on your behalf.

When restaked, you will be able to see the transaction in the official web wallet.

To switch from the auto-compounding mode to the classic manual compound delegation mode (without waiting “Expiry date” or reaching the “Max amount” of FUND that you specified for the restaking) in the “Manage” drop-down list select the “Manual Compound” item. You can also disable the auto-compound restake function for this click the button “Disable REStake”

or select “Manage REStake” and click on the button “Revoke” in the new pop-up window. Also, you can change the “Max amount” and “Expiry date” values ​​at any time and after need to click button “Update REStake”.

Conclusion

REStake is a solid alternative to manually withdrawing rewards, and then restaking them yourself. Now you can set and forget your delegations while knowing they are compunding every day.
