Migration Q&A

1. Why is GuaridOS migrating from Ethereum to BNB Chain?

Ethereum L1 volumes have been extremely low. Onchain activity and liquidity are not enough to sustain growth. BNB Chain currently has stronger momentum, active users, and better conditions for scaling. Migration ensures the project has sustainable funding and community growth.

2. What happens to my ERC20 $GUDOS tokens?

All ERC20 $GUDOS tokens can be migrated 1:1 to BEP20 $GUDOS. Same wallet address, just on BNB Chain.

3. How does the migration process work?

Send your ERC20 $GUDOS to the official dev wallet, then submit your TX hash at the migration portal → https://migrate.guaridos.me.

After migration closes, BEP20 $GUDOS will be distributed directly to the same wallet.

4. Is the Ethereum contract renounced?

Yes. The ERC20 contract is renounced. That’s why we set up migration in the cleanest way possible, without contract-side changes.

5. When does migration close?

Migration closes on Sunday, 18 UTC.

After this time, any unmigrated tokens will be vested and claimable only over the next 3 months.

6. What if I don’t migrate before the deadline?

Unmigrated tokens will be locked. You can still claim them later, but distribution will be vested weekly for up to 3 months. This is to protect against sudden dumps.

7. When will BEP20 tokens be distributed?

All migrated wallets will receive BEP20 tokens before trading opens on BNB.

8. When is the official BNB launch?

The launch is scheduled for Monday, 15 UTC.

9. What about whales or large holders?

Any wallet migrating more than 2% of supply will only receive 2% per week. The rest will be vested to prevent heavy dumps at launch.

10. Why did the team sell migration holdings from the dev wallet?

• A MEV bot and one wallet holding ~12% posed risks. If they sold before migration closed, the starting MC on BNB would have dropped under 15k.

• By selling early, we secured community funds and ensured a healthier launch target (~32k MC).

11. Does this mean the team dumped?

No. This was a protective move. Funds remain for the community and for launch liquidity. None of this is an exit.

12. Will the starting MC on BNB match Ethereum?

Yes. The starting market cap on BNB will match the ETH market cap when migration closes.

13. Can I still buy ERC20 $GUDOS now?

Yes. ERC20 $GUDOS currently acts as a presale. Anyone can buy, then migrate 1:1 to BEP20.

14. Is it risky if someone loads up now before migration ends?

That’s the opportunity. If you buy and migrate, you join at the same starting MC when BNB trading opens. Whales are vested, so no one can dump all at once.

15. Why not block new buyers from migrating?

The ETH contract is renounced. We cannot discriminate between old and new buyers. Migration is open to all ERC20 holders.

16. Why not just airdrop based on dev wallet receipts?

Migration via portal ensures cleaner verification and prevents missed claims. We’d rather have clear records than guess from raw chain data.

17. What precautions are in place for a healthy launch?

With that in mind, we are releasing GuaridAuthenticator (Beta) a Web3-native 2FA utility designed for developers, projects, and everyday users who want login security without giving control to third parties.

📖 Introduction

Authentication is the first gate in any system. If that gate is weak, everything behind it is at risk. Traditional 2FA tools rely on central servers and hidden sync layers. This introduces problems:

1. Providers can track when and where you log in.

2. Recovery flows often require trusting customer support teams with identity documents.

3. Access can be suspended, revoked, or manipulated if the provider decides to.

So far, GuaridOS has been local-first. That means your data stays on your own device, never stored on centralized servers. Local-first is powerful, but it has limits. Devices can break. Laptops can get lost. Phones can be stolen. Without backups, privacy can become fragility.

To solve this, we are preparing an integration with Filecoin through Lighthouse. This integration gives GuaridOS users the option to back up files in a secure, decentralized, and verifiable way.

🌐 Why Filecoin and Why Lighthouse

1. Filecoin is the largest decentralized storage network built on top of IPFS. It creates a global marketplace where users can pay for permanent storage.

2. Lighthouse makes Filecoin more developer-friendly. It offers APIs and SDKs that allow encryption policies, pinning of files, and automatic deal extensions.

3. In short, Filecoin provides the infrastructure and Lighthouse provides the developer tooling that makes it usable inside GuaridOS.

⚙️ Integration Workflow

Step 1: Encryption on the client

• Every file is encrypted before leaving the device.

• The method is AES-256 symmetric encryption per file.

• The symmetric key is wrapped with the user’s DID keys or identity keypair.

• Result: only the user has the keys to unlock the file. Lighthouse never sees plain data.

Step 2: Upload to Lighthouse

• The encrypted file is chunked and sent using the Lighthouse SDK.

• The output is a CID (Content Identifier).

• CID is a cryptographic fingerprint of the file. If the file changes even by one byte, the CID changes.

Step 3: Filecoin storage deal

• Lighthouse automatically creates Filecoin deals for the file.

• The file is replicated across multiple providers in the Filecoin network.

• Storage deals can be extended so the file is available permanently.

Step 4: Metadata and indexing

• GuaridOS maintains a local metadata index.

• Metadata includes CID, filename, mime type, checksum, and optional sharing policies.

• All metadata is also encrypted locally, so even the index itself cannot be read by outsiders.

Step 5: Retrieval

• When a user wants to open a file, GuaridOS fetches the data using the CID.

• Retrieval happens through IPFS gateways or dedicated nodes.

• Once data is downloaded, it is decrypted client-side using the user’s keys.

• For better user experience, decrypted files are cached locally after the first retrieval.

• Attachments can be archived to Filecoin.

• Assets such as icons, banners, or metadata for links can be anchored on Filecoin.

• This gives verifiable proof that the content is original.

• However, advanced users can choose to store an encrypted backup of the password vault on Filecoin, with keys split using secret sharing.

🔒 Why Arweave

Centralized platforms such as Google Drive continue to show weaknesses in security. Recently a major issue in Google Drive for Windows allowed users on the same shared computer to access each other’s cached files without credentials. This is the risk of centralized infrastructure: one broken access control can expose every file.

Arweave solves this with a different model. Data stored is permanent and cannot be altered or removed once uploaded. Each file has a verifiable transaction hash that can be checked directly onchain. The storage network is distributed across nodes, removing the single point of failure that centralized servers create.

With GuaridDrive integrated into Arweave, every file is encrypted locally before upload and stored in a way that anyone can verify but nobody can tamper with.
