We will work on this in alliance with our partners, Guild will stake on clearing out the dark forest, because we are vetted in its future and long-term survival.

Integrating Nostra's tools will help us enable the UX we desire for our users. We'll abstract complexity away from the user, delivering a unified, intuitive experience that makes advanced financial actions feel simple, safe, and accessible. While we’ll start with the basics, we plan to expand support to every relevant and proven decentralized financial product on every major blockchain, without exposing their complexity. 

Nostra has already done a major part of this work, and proven aggregation on Starknet, now we are continuing the work deploying on Monad next.

By concentrating fragmented token liquidity into fewer, deeper markets, we are going to improve capital efficiency, and create healthier conditions for participation.

With this acquisition, we’ll rebrand and restructure Nostra, expand its product line, allowing its token holders to be part of a larger joint venture with Guild, which we will publicly announce during Q1 2026.

The First Campaign: DeFi Training Grounds

Ink’s first major campaign on Guild was the DeFi Training Grounds — a 4-week activation experience aimed at introducing users to Ink’s DeFi ecosystem and basic blockchain functions.

Week-by-Week Breakdown:

• Week 1: Follow Ink on Twitter, hold 0.0001 ETH, like & repost tweets, and create memes using the hashtag #Ink.

• Week 2: Mint an Ink-related article, complete 3+ transactions on Ink, follow Ink on Farcaster.

• Week 3: Deploy a contract, claim roles through Discord, deepen on-chain interactions.

• Week 4: Complete advanced DeFi tasks, follow partners, claim a .ink domain.

Each task unlocked new roles or rewards - often via gated forms, exclusive Discord perks, or AMA participation. All activities were verifiable and tracked through Guild’s role system.

Campaign 2: Ink Academy

To kick off their journey, Reown launched a five-part Mission Campaign hosted entirely on Guild. Each mission served as a step in onboarding new community members while educating them about Reown’s vision, products, and the broader Web3 narrative.

By the end of the campaign, Reown’s Guild had over 30,000 members - consistently more than their Twitter follower count at that time, which speaks volumes in a space where Twitter is considered the primary hub for discovery and engagement.

NFT Utility and Dynamic Quests

Guild’s NFT infrastructure was a core piece of the campaign. Each completed mission granted the user a soulbound Mission NFT, stored as proof of participation and progression. These NFTs weren’t just cosmetic - they'll enable gated access to later missions and future perks. Guild made it seamless to mint, verify, and leverage these NFTs across the campaign.

And this is just the beginning: using Guild, projects can later tie these NFTs into other systems - whether as criteria for future quests, bonus points, private access, or even airdrop eligibility.

Points System and Leaderboard

Reown also activated Guild’s Points Engine to fuel engagement and build friendly competition. Points - dubbed “Stars” - were distributed based on different community actions. Here’s how it broke down:

• Socialite: 20 Stars for following Reown on Twitter or visiting their YouTube channel

• Caster: 15 Stars for Farcaster followers of Reown

• Inauguration NFT Holders: 10 Stars for minting a special Reown NFT on Zora

• Pin Holders: 20 Stars for minting the Guild Pin

• Builders: 25 Stars for devs, designers, visionaries acquiring roles like “dev” or “researcher”

Each of these actions was tied to a custom Guild role and requirement, with campaign pages built to onboard and track participation. The leaderboard ensured real-time competition throughout the campaign.

This multi-path rewards structure incentivized various people - from casual followers to active builders — to get involved early and stay engaged.

Community Buzz & Broader Impact

The results? Beyond the numbers, Reown’s Guild campaign made waves.

• Twitter conversations surged with mentions of the Reown missions

Loyalty and reward programs often encourage a sense of community and active participation among users, and the aim for Merchant Moe was no different. The Journey campaign intertwined with Merchant Moe’s captivating, narrative-driven community vibe. Its goal? To reward $MOE stakers and dedicated community members. This is where Guild came into the picture.

In this case study, we’ll show you how they utilized Guild’s platform and features to perfection.

A new reward system called Moe Journey Points (MJP) was introduced to reward the most active users.

This was made possible thanks to Guild Points Engine, with which anyone can build their own point system, and a leaderboard to track members' achievements.

1) Staking $MOE - where the staker roles follow a tiered system - offered chances to earn more MJP as you move up tiers with higher deposits.

​2) Attending weekly community AMA calls was another way to earn MJP. Users only had to participate and verify their attendance to earn 50 MJP per AMA session.

​3) Ambassadors Voyage - Last but not least, a core group of distinguished Moe community members who had a track record of voluntarily supporting, engaging, and sharing within the community had the chance to be rewarded 250 MJP weekly.

Each category had a campaign page on Guild, and all three had their own set of roles that could be accomplished to earn additional MJP. Weekly snapshots tracked the points that determined the final allocation of $MNT tokens, ensuring a seamless distribution process.

With Guild, communities can create and dynamically reward custom soulbound tokens to members, aka drop NFTs. Merchant Moe rewarded users with the True Journeymen NFTs. Users could obtain these based on the amount of MJP they earned. Journeymen NFTs were categorized into Bronze (0-1k MJP), Silver (1-10k MJP), and Gold tier (10k+ MJP).

Using Guild, product owners can reward NFTs, but they might as well make a certain NFT a requirement for additional rewards, points, points boosts, other NFTs, or for many other things.

Not forgetting the early adopters, Merchant Moe wanted to benefit those who participated in the first season of The Journey. Firstly, they rewarded them with an OG Moe role on Guild (using Guild’s allowlist feature). Furthermore, these users received a 10% boost to their MJP’s earned throughout Season 2, made possible by Guild’s custom contract query requirement feature.

We have a way with words, but what do the numbers say?

Merchant Moe - at the time of writing this case study - has 11.2K Discord members. On the contrary, Merchant Moe’s Guild has 16K members. In terms of activity, in February 2024 - at the launch of The Journey Season 2 - their Guild had 15.3K unique visitors.

It’s safe to say that Merchant Moe’s community thrives more on Guild than on Discord.

By leveraging Guild's platform, Merchant Moe was able to enhance community engagement and reward active users through an innovative campaign called The Journey. As Merchant Moe continues to evolve as a central liquidity hub within the Mantle Network ecosystem, the success of their partnership with Guild serves as a testament to the potential benefits of integrating Guild's platform for web3 projects seeking to drive community growth and engagement.

While previously, tokens were the primary means of co-ordination in our industry - providing ownership, membership, granting access to communities, voting rights, and more rewards - there are now other non-tokenized ways to co-ordinate communities.

By realizing the broader array of methods communities could have beyond tokenization, Guild has moved from simple token-gating to a more flexible approach: to setting up roles for any community functions including co-ordinating and governance.

Guild’s modular access management model of Requirements, Roles and Rewards, allows tokenized and non-tokenized communities to build role structures around a set of requirements to utilize for access. These requirements include onchain actions, interests, internet history, held assets and allowlists.

In this piece, we'll expand on the utility and diversity of allowlists and ideas for specific use-cases and tools to make the most out of them.

In the onchain world many functionalities of apps work around allowlists, including reward distribution, access management, browsing explorers and more. While this hasn’t changed, it has expanded with further automations and features.

Allowlists can be used to identify early adopters, create smaller workgroups in a larger community, build onchain governance without tokens and to plan future airdrops.

Set up any combination of requirements in your Guild for members to pass and get on allowlists automatically. This way we reached a new level of automated permissioning for allowlists. Depending on your goals, allowlists are the ultimate function for multiple reasons.

Allowlists are handy at different stages of a community. Fully customizable allowlists allow greater control over the composition of membership tiers and sub-groups. Guild, in combination with other tools and apps, can help achieve it all.

With Guild, allowlists can be:

• uploaded as requirements to get rewards,

• created as outputs after a completed behavior,

• and exported for further use in more roles on Guild or in other applications.

By combining requirements like onchain assets, social data, and participation, we can grant access to deeper community functions and enable members to get on allowlists automatically.

To get your hands on an allowlist, there are two ways to proceed: either by gathering addresses from blockchain explorers or through Guild.

The blockchain is an open database, we can call at any information on it and export it in some form. With Guild, we can combine this with cross- and off-chain data as well.

Blockchain explorers allow you to collect wallet addresses based on asset holdings and onchain actions on different networks. Some examples include Etherscan, PolygonScan, and Arbiscan. These provide a more manual, less granular but fairly quick solution.

Guild offers a more modular approach to exporting addresses based on requirement combinations within its ecosystem of supported chains and platform integrations.

• Guild’s query engine, Balancy is an alternative tool to gather addresses on multiple chains without already having a Guild yourself. Once requirements are set, you can download or copy eligible addresses in the form of allowlists for future use.

• The Member Exporter on Guild creates allowlists of your members' addresses based on the roles they hold within your Guild. It's an exportable snapshot of your current members in space and time that you can use to build strategies and initiatives on top of. This enables you to set any requirements for members to complete in order to get in a role, therefore an allowlist.

Balancy creates allowlists based on requirements, regardless of Guild memberships, while the Member Exporter creates allowlists based on members' roles.

When exporting members’ addresses, Guild's modularity also allows for the ability to mix and match roles to export to a single allowlist.

We can go even further…

Combined with the visibility feature, allowlists become more useful for a variety of goals. It enables admins to create secret and hidden Guild elements - requirements, roles, and rewards -, visible only to them or to role holders.

Since these elements are “invisible” to the public, they are great for operational or strategic moves, even when creating allowlists. Regardless of the requirements you use to qualify members, secret and hidden roles allow Guilds to identify and target sub-groups and gather member insights.

Think of secret and hidden requirements and roles as filters or labels for your team to use, rather than “tasks to be completed” for the community itself.

Allowlists can be powerful tools for online communities to manage their members and include in strategies. Here are some potential ways to use allowlists, leading to next-level membership management:

1. Early adopters: export a list of your members at any given time, and create a designated allowlisted Guild role to recognize those who’s been there early.

2. Closed roles: prevent new members from obtaining a certain role by exporting the current role holders’ addresses and changing the requirement to an allowlist.

3. Planning rewards: target specific sub-groups within the community, like your biggest advocates or long-time members, and plan future drops with exportable allowlists.

4. Teams: smooth out your operations with Guild by adding core team members and contributors to allowlists, automatically granting them access to all necessary groups, channels and docs.

5. Governance without tokens: gather allowlists and use them for tools like jokerace to handle governance and decision-making with allowlist-based voting.

6. Analytics tools: collect actionable insights on your community and know your members better using curated dashboards with tools like Bello.

7. Keys to access: any social app directed at a crypto-native userbase is able to be gated or used by uploading an allowlist. In Guilds, they grant access to Discord roles, Telegram groups, Github repositories, Google drive files, and blockchain assets.

Allowlists are a vital part in the toolkit of communities. Whether recognizing the pioneers, streamlining operations, or enabling governance, they offer versatile means to enhance community management.

Case Study on how to segment and engage specific kinds of community members automatically using Guild w/ Tjark from PoolTogether

We e-sat down with Tjark, community lead at PoolTogether, to discuss their community engagement strategies and tactics. In this issue of Guild It, we'll explore how Tjark uses Guild to continually engage and re-engage specific member groups around high-value initiatives.

Knowing who you are building for is the first step to a better community structure and experience for all. Member identities are the true building blocks of a healthy community. In the case of PoolTogether, there are three main personas:

• Users

• Fans

• Contributors

“Alongside the protocol is a community. Some are users, some are fans, some are contributors. The goal of this community is to help everyone in the world become more wealthy. The mission creates a special kind of vibe!”

Each of these member groups can be segmented into sub-groups. For example, some members simply attend community calls while others participate in governance and test new PoolTogether product releases.

This brings up two main challenges for Tjark and his team:

1. mapping high-value sub-groups and

2. engage them efficiently around initiatives.

With all the noise that exists in Discord, Twitter and mailboxes, it is important that communities have a single place where their members can get up to speed about ongoing initiatives and how to engage with them meaningfully. Moreover, it is good to reward members thoughtfully for their engagement to signal the importance of key community initiatives.

Not all initiatives are suitable for everyone. The community team needs to be able to form sub-groups of members who meet specific, sometimes advanced requirements. In addition, there needs to be a way to communicate with these sub-groups in a targeted way.

“We use Guild on a daily basis as it can be used by anyone who wants to get further involved with our project, just by looking at the Guild Dashboard one can get context even when they don’t want to ask questions in the Discord.”

Goal: signal the value of community calls by rewarding call attendance with Guild’s POAP module to facilitate conversations with members.

In this case, POAP badges are used by Tjark and his team as rewards to signal the importance of community calls to the extended PoolTogether community.

Community calls in PoolTogether are open to all Discord members and attendance tends to be the highest among all community events. During Community calls, Tjark announces new initiatives and gives updates on products, partnerships, governance, and so on.

PoolTogether uses Guild’s POAP integration to smoothly distribute unique POAPs after each community call. These have proved extremely popular as members love to collect fun badges and feel motivated to show up on the call consistently.

In order to minimize farming, Guild’s attendance verification feature makes sure that a given member has attended for a minimum amount of time in order to be able to claim a POAP.

Results

• 6000 POAPS were distributed across 20 community calls through the POAP minting tool with the supply fully being minted out 19 out of 20 times

• Farming is minimized thanks to Guild’s attendance verification tool

Goal: form a user testing sub-group to test PoolTogether’s upcoming release.

This was made possible by creating a Guild group with requirements filtering for highly involved members:

1. POAP holders of one of the past 6 community calls

2. Poolycon POAP holders

3. Code contributors to PoolTogether holding a GitPOAP

4. Holders of any NFTs created by Churck Bergeron, PoolTogether’s cofounder and artist

Thanks to this new role Tjark was able to onboard a couple hundred, highly engaged members to the new initiative and give them access to a gated document introducing their new protocol.

Results

• In a matter of a few days, close to 200 members got their Alpha Leak role to access and test the new protocol!

Goal: engage a sub-group of governance-savvy members to involve them in Pooltogether’s governance activities.

It is possible to use custom queries for role requirements on Guild. It means using any smart contract's ‘read function' as the source for a requirement. The PoolTogether team has used this feature in order to form a group of $OP holders among their members. They then used a gated Google document to coordinate with them. PoolTogether successfully became a major delegate on the Optimism blockchain.

“What this means is that all PT people who have delegated their OP voting power to our multisig get access to a specific Google Document and this helps communicate with them better.”

Besides coordination, Guild requirements and roles are also a great way to spotlight community sub-groups. Roles are like titles and direct status for those who contribute to the community and project.

“It looks like people find it super rewarding to be recognized. If these people are delegates and get a role for it they tend to really appreciate it. The roles that you get through Guild feel like badges that you collect. Sometimes you click on a profile and you’re like “wow this person here has done a lot”.

Results:

• Delegate sub-group successfully engaged and took action. Guild was used as the coordination and incentive tool to grow PoolCollective -PoolTogether’s delegate- as a top 25 delegate on OP Token House governance, totaling 0.85% of the votable supply.

Since pins are non-transferable, they are not a means for financial speculation, but for early support, pride and prestige!!!

So how do Pins come into the Guild Model of requirements, roles and rewards? I’m glad you asked.

Guild Pins that are minted after joining a community can be used as requirements in community strategies to set up conditions for further deepening the relationship between members. To segment the community based on time, involvement and interests. For example:

Holding the Pin can grant members a “Pin Holder” role, which grants access to chatgroups and special events as a reward.

And to make up a “verified member” role it could be used in combination with other requirements such as: following on socials, being regular at community events and having other roles in the community.

There is one more twist: Pins are ranked in the order of members claiming them. Meaning, that every single token is numbered so it's an awesome tool to show a rough time of Joining, how long have holders been members of a community.

• The holders of the first 500 Pins who were here and claimed the "joined Guild Pin” can have the early role, and enjoy special privileges

Case Study on how to build onboarding processes that actually support members w/ Luan

Sat down with Luan de Souza (@boyluan) who is the former Head of the Community, Onboarding and Server Architecture teams at DD Labs/Developer DAO. We unpacked everything about their brand new ‘Guided Onboarding’ process, and how Luan and his team (also comprised of Aakansha and Alex at the time) leveraged Guild to create a smooth and customized experience for new members.

DeveloperDAO is a vibrant web3 community that helps onboard developers into blockchain technology. It offers various activities and opportunities, such as demo events, a developer academy, and access to a collective of web3 venture builders called ‘Agency’.

Initially, DeveloperDAO aimed to attract Contributors who actively built the community by hosting events, moderating Discord, and creating products. However, as the community grew, a more casual Member persona emerged, seeking collaboration, project feedback, learning, career opportunities, and membership perks without getting involved in the community's inner workings like contributors.

Acknowledging this shift was crucial, but with this DeveloperDAO's community team faced significant challenges to address.

Challenge 1: smooth, gradual onboarding

For new members, DeveloperDAO felt too big and complex. The community had grown quickly and new members got onboarded into too many channels and interest groups right off the bat, without any gradual onboarding or customization to their experience.

Challenge 2: dedicated experiences for Contributors and Members

Contributors and more casual Members were all sharing the same digital spaces, adding friction. Only a tiny subset of Members wanted to get involved with DeveloperDAO’s operations, the rest wanted to enjoy the many opportunities available.

As a result, DeveloperDAO needed to adjust the entire onboarding and community experience taking this into account. The Discord Server Architecture team lead, Luan, decided to partner with the Guild team for this ambitious project.

I like the fact that with Guild everybody goes to the same location. The Guild Page is the permission layer and the entry point into the Discord community. The flow felt really intuitive compared to other tools I had tried in the past.

Since Guild has been introduced to the community over 6 thousand members went through this onboarding process and roughly a thousand continue to do so monthly.

The community team leveraged Guild as a way to sort newcomers and members onto different paths and customized experiences, and do that in a scalable way. The whole system has been created through a combination of an Otterspace badge system and Guild as the memberships management tool. Interoperability for the win!

According to Luan this design automatically unlocks 3 things:

1. Distinguish between old and new members

2. Create customized onboarding paths for different member personas

3. Bring much more clarity to the Discord by abstracting unnecessary channels from each member’s experience

Below is the visualization of the recently rolled-out onboarding flow as designed by Luan and the Discord Server Architect Team. Let’s go through the new member experience together.

The first step consists in sorting members between old and new in order to adapt their respective experiences, by setting up Guild roles and corresponding server permissions.

Looking at the screenshot below - If members do not hold the “Here Before Season 2 Otterspace badge” they get assigned the “20” role. This role requires them to hold 400 $CODE that they can conveniently purchase through the Guild UI.

We had more than 500 channels and everyone was complaining about the server's complexity and noise. Thanks to the negated requirements in our Guild roles and the Otterspace integration, we improved the situation.

On the safety side of things, it also minimizes the number of people who come in the server thanks to the role requirements. Thinking about it Guild is a launchpad to layer in the initial member requirements.

While old members unlock the full DD experience. New members unlock just 4 channels in order not to overwhelm them right when they join. Here they have access to an optional onboarding call and an onboarding cheat sheet that keeps everything simple. Eventually, they can decide when they feel ready to enter the wider DeveloperDAO community experience.

Finally, members can further customize their experience and unlock packs of channels by selecting one of the following hubs:

Since they’ve adopted their new onboarding system, members can enjoy a more straightforward experience that is tailored to their interests. Old members also benefit from the overhaul by having more contextual spaces ready for all the convos to happen.

One interesting data point is that we’ve recently created a re-onboarding program for members who have disengaged with Developer DAO in the past. As we were re-onboarding these members, we asked them why they left. The number one answer was that they had difficulty engaging. It is clear that now Discord is much more orderly and that’s in large part thanks to the onboarding setup we designed with the help of Guild. Aside from the tech itself, the Guild UX is really easy and self-explanatory.

A positive externality of the role requirements designed through Guild is the increased utility of DeveloperDAO’s ‘Developer NFTs’ and ‘$CODE’ tokens as newcomers need to hold one or the other in order to access onboarding.

When it came to looking at creative ways of utilizing Guild as a permission layer, I’d say considering the current integrations as a way to layer on top of role requirements. Rewards can be pretty varied, that could be minting an NFT, a role, a document… And they can be dynamically updated every few days. Thinking about how to craft more connections and communication with your community is where the power lies.

We started out as a simple bot for connecting Ethereum with Discord, inspired by our own needs for better token-gating and general access management of internet native groups.

Being a core part of Web3 communities today, it is very important that our infrastructure is less and less reliant on centralized service providers and uses a lot more of openly available blockchain data.

All the roles, sub-guilds, working groups, pods are within your own Guild, because your Guild is not restricted to one platform but it's relevant across applications.

• Go to a Guild Page to see details of any guild. At the top of a Guild you can see all rewards you are eligible for, access to specific roles in a Discord Server, exclusive knowledge base in Google Workspace, and a private Github Repository.

• In the background Guild is running on a powerful real-time query engine we built to be able to interact with the blockchain. We can use this feature to check, which wallet addresses hold what. This is useful for:

  • downloading allowlists about holding any single or combination of assets,

  • doing market research about community cross-sections based on holdings,

  • making sure members in your community didn't sell and still satisfy your requirements. All of this in real-time.

• Creating a Guild starts with selecting the first reward type, then setting up roles with specific requirements.

• After members joined your guild, you can also export connected addresses by role, for rewarding, allowlists, creating further roles, essentially an allowlist maker at your service.

• Start using your Guild'd role system in different applications. Transfer already existing roles to your Guild, or add different rewards to your group.

Since Guild is a very horizontal tool, the use cases are endless between having a very small group of your friends with a single role, and big DAO-y structures with many different roles and complex social systems.

There is another major use of Guild that is highly important in a community setting:

You can set requirements for adjacent community supporters, and owners of specific assets of another project. Over 10,000 web3 curious people have created or joined 600 guilds and our developer team has merged 1929 commits on Github, in response to hundreds of feature requests or bug reports.

These numbers show how our space is rapidly moving, and also prove to us that Guild is a community-driven tool. All these incredible groups have supported us, just as we supported them since day 1. Every essential feature, you helped us define and dream up, is implemented and battle-tested. Without these the project would not be in the shape and form it is now.

During this time we made the backend structure robust so these features can be scaled, allowing communities to grow and bloom with Guild. For example: The whitelist option is now extended to 50k addresses and we increased the speed at which we check if you are eligible to join a guild as well. (This feature turned out to be super valuable for Lens Protocol)

The last few weeks at Guild have been incredibly exciting!

To date users of the Guild alpha have created a total of 309 Guildhalls, and our Medusa bot is live in 137 Discord servers. Telegram functionality is in the works and will come next.

Guildhalls enable DAOs to create multiple tiers of token-gated access, or allow DAOs to assign members roles relevant to their place in the DAO. Sismo was one of the first DAOs to set up a Guildhall.

“Zikies” (DAO members) gained roles in the guild depending on when they joined Sismo.

After contributing 10 ETH to Krause House’s Mirror crowdfund, BLVCKHVND created a guild to form a cross-DAO communication channel.
