For context about why/what a web3 Religion, please read Religio and the Greater Vision, this document is about how we are creating the first web3 Religion.

In terms of Human Coordination and Organizational behaviors, DAOs are the next big experiment for Human Coordination. While we might intuitively think that a DAO shall be Decentralized, Autonomous, and Organized, the web3 industry reality shows us that we are still far from meeting this criteria, yet we shall walk towards it. So today, we are announcing the launch of The DAO of Religio.

What is our DAO scoped for?

We want a minimum viable DAO that coordinates our community, by using the Q.org governance stack, to sign-off the collective decisions we take about our shared beliefs that will lead us to be better people for the wealth of ourselves, our communities, and humanity in general to then achieve the worldwide Regeneration that we want to pass to the further generations.

Religions, at the end of the day, are bonding mechanisms that gather a community into a shared belief for guaranteeing individuals to earn heaven, to live in nirvana, whatever it means. While we envision our binding elements to be properly designed with socio-economic incentives to invite people to act and behave in a “good” way (we are not there yet), understanding “good” as what is beneficial for us as individuals, for us as collectives, but also for us as humanity. As you can guess, we do need coordination and alignment to define what “good” is for us, at least for Religio’s practitioners.

So, there are a few assets that are going to be gradually transferred to the DAO for its governance:

• Religio’s Creed: The Light Paper

  • We will govern about its format, place of storage, and content, currently, we find it online at Gitbook and in Swarm decentralized Data Storage platform (it’s like IPFS but private and censorship-resistant).You can check it at https://gateway.ethswarm.org/ with hash 7504628bef0eecb4b3842b0edeee29b95e884348d760297add570773e9e00e79. Funding will initially be guaranteed by ReligioDAO summoner under the expectation that when the community grows enough it’ll be self-sustained.

• ReligioDAO’s Oracle: ChatGPT interface to Religio.

  • As you can guess, AI has been a great help to create this religion. I mean, if we are intertwining ancient wisdom with modern technology, the best tool at the moment we have to synthesize all this knowledge is AI’s LMM like ChatGPT. We’ve even created our own Religio’s Oracle GPT for you to interact with (only if you have OpenAI’s subscription 😏).

• Web Page: all content for ReligioDAO.wtf will be under the scrutiny of the DAO.

• Social Media: in an ideal world, every piece of content should be governed by the DAO, but if you have DAOed before, you know how painful in the 🍑 this can be. So, Twitter and Instagram would remain designated to the proper account.

• Representatives: in order to properly evangelize around the world about Religio and bring the proper partnerships to our Ecosystem, the Q.org DAO will select a group of people to have the legitimacy to represent our interest in the outside world.

⚠️ Disclaimer: If you’ve DAOed before, you might understand the technical challenges behind actually giving the complete power of these assets to the DAO, as we cannot have yet Documents, ChatGPT, Social Media accounts, Web Page directly on-chain. The DAO would serve as the instance to govern the content and steering on these assets, but until we have the proper technical solutions, many, if not all, of these assets will remain under the ultimate accountability of the Steward in charge. It sucks, but we see it as a good way to start practicing the art of DAOing for a greater good.

We’ll scale up the DAO little by little, the bigger we’ll be, the broader our scope and assets to govern together.

Why should people care about governing Religio DAO?

Decentralized governance is like a community garden where everyone gets to plant their favorite vegetables. We all see its value for sustainability and social equity, crucial for nurturing human evolution. But in reality, it’s like juggling watering schedules and arguing over organic vs. non-organic fertilizers. It’s a tangle of well-intentioned green thumbs, occasional overgrown zucchinis, and the silent hope that someone else will deal with the inevitable army of enthusiastic snails. 🌱🐌🤷‍♂️ Decentralized Governance is what we all need, but it’s hard af!

In an ideal world (the one we are targeting to achieve 😃), we envision people taking care about Religio’s Creed and Culture evolution due to incentives driven by Moral and Tribal imperatives, which means, not economical nor social-reputation incentives, just the care about themselves and their peers. That’s why, we will be (IRL, physically) giving Religio’s Charms to people submitting successful governance proposals.

Other Considerations

Although we deeply believe in Decentralized Governance, we acknowledge it is subjected to attacks from bad actors. We are not worried about hard attacks on our narrative, as it would be evident to our trustworthy community if an attack happens, and we’ll have the proper mechanisms to safeguard our narrative from attacks charged with bad intentions, also ReligioDAO will be protected by Q.org’s pillars:

• ReligioDAO’s constitution lays down the rules of the system.

• Q’s system’s architecture - both on-chain and off-chain - ensures that these rules can actually be enforced.

• A dispute resolution mechanism is in place to resolve conflicts if and when they occur (and they always do).

In order to protect ReligioDAO from Sybyll Attacks, a group of trustworthy Guardians, to be innitially selected by the summoner, and then by the Guardian’s body itself; will have veto powers over the token issuance, in order that Member’s would have the freedom to invite new members, but Guardians will be checking and validating new members are unique human beings.

The author suggests that to understand someone's love language, one should observe how they express love to others, and note what they complain about most often and what they request from their significant other most frequently. He proposes that people tend to naturally give love in the way they prefer to receive it, and that better communication in relationships can be achieved when partners demonstrate caring in the love language the recipient understands [sourced from wikipedia]. The Love Languages that Chapman outlines are:

1. Words of Affirmation: This love language is all about verbal expression. People who favor this language feel most loved and appreciated through compliments, words of encouragement, verbal acknowledgment of affection, and frequently expressed words of appreciation. It’s not just about saying "I love you," but also about the reasons behind that love, compliments, and verbal support.

2. Quality Time: For those who prioritize quality time, undivided attention is the key. This means spending time together without distractions, engaging in meaningful conversations, or participating in shared activities. It’s about giving someone your full attention, actively listening, and sharing experiences. It's not just the quantity of time spent together, but the quality that matters.

3. Receiving Gifts: This language is often misunderstood as materialistic, but it's more about the thought and effort behind the gift. For people who respond to this love language, gifts are powerful symbols of love and thoughtfulness. The value of the gift is less important than the symbolic thought behind it. It’s a physical representation of love, like a token that reminds them of their partner's affection.

4. Acts of Service: For some, actions speak louder than words. Those who appreciate acts of service feel loved when their partner does things to make their life easier or more comfortable. It could be as simple as cooking a meal, taking care of chores, or running errands. These actions are seen as expressions of love and care because they require time, effort, and consideration.

5. Physical Touch: Physical touch is a powerful vehicle for expressing love for people who favor this language. This includes hugs, kisses, hand-holding, and any form of physical intimacy. It’s about feeling close and connected through physical presence and touch. It’s not just about sexual intimacy but also non-sexual touches that convey affection and love.

Although I find this framework really useful for both understanding how to offer love to someone and even to request love, I personally find it oversimplifying complex human emotions and interactions while also have clear Western cultural bias that may not universally apply across different cultures. So.. What Is Love?

What Is Love? Baby don't hurt me!

Love, in its most profound sense, transcends mere emotions or romantic notions. It's a state of being, a connection that speaks to the unity and interconnectedness of all things. Love is as the harmonizing force that aligns people into expressing their own essence and looks forward to intertwain peers in on collective being. Love is becoming one while still being separated individuals.

But I also see love to be about empowerment and sovereignty. It's about building communities that care for each other and the world at large, a force that overcomes any personal or societal challenges. This refers to the idea of systems or structures that lead to outcomes nobody desires, yet seem inescapable. Love, in this sense, is an antidote to such systemic issues, promoting a harmonious and sustainable way of living and interacting.

In everyday terms, love is about connection, understanding, empathy, and the willingness to grow and evolve together. Whether in personal relationships, community engagements, or our interaction with nature, love guides us towards actions that uplift and sustain.

Beyond Chapman's Framework

While Gary Chapman's Five Love Languages offer a useful framework, it's true they might not capture the full complexity of human emotions and relationships. Here are some creatively suggested "alternative" love languages that could add more depth or humor to the concept:

1. Sarcasm and Banter: For some, playful teasing and witty banter are heartwarming signs of affection and a shared sense of humor.

2. Meme Sharing: In a digital age, exchanging memes might be the modern equivalent of love notes, showing thoughtfulness and shared interests.

3. Food Language: Sharing meals or cooking for someone can be a profound expression of care, transcending traditional gift-giving or acts of service.

4. Shared Silence: Finding comfort and connection in being together without the need for constant conversation or activity.

5. Growth and Development: Encouraging and supporting each other's personal and professional growth, like motivating for career advancements or personal hobbies.

6. Intellectual Connection: Engaging in stimulating conversations, debates, or sharing books and ideas as a form of deepening the relationship.

7. Environmental Harmony: Sharing a love language in maintaining and cherishing a shared living space, like gardening or home decoration.

8. Digital Connection: Staying connected through thoughtful texts, emails, or social media interactions that show you're thinking of each other even when apart.

9. Empathetic Listening: Prioritizing deep, empathetic listening to understand each other's perspectives and emotions fully.

10. Acts of Kindness to Others: Showing love by doing kind things for others together, like volunteering or helping friends and family.

11. Health and Wellness Support: Supporting each other's health goals, such as cooking healthy meals together or reminding each other to take care of physical and mental health.

12. Cultural Exploration: Exploring new cultures together, whether through travel, food, or learning new languages, as a way of expanding your shared experiences.

"Fuck you" as an ultimate Love Language

Coming from a colorful yet chaotic country like Venezuela, my understanding of love has been, let's say, 'unconventionally seasoned'. 'Fuck you' as a love language? Absolutely. It’s the dialect of a land where beauty and commotion dance salsa in an Encava Autobus. It’s the art of loving amidst a symphony of honking cars and heated debates.

This phrase, both sharp and tender, is like the street food there - spicy, unexpected, but weirdly satisfying. It's the kind of love that winks at adversity, laughs in the face of hardship, and embraces the absurdity of life. It’s not about being rude, it’s about being real - so real that sugarcoating is left for desserts, not dialogues.

This love language is more than just words; it's a testament to resilience. It's about finding humor in the chaos, turning pain into power, and transforming a difficult sentiment into an acknowledgment of the unique and complex dynamic of the relationship. It’s the language of those who’ve seen darkness but choose to light up the night with laughter and an unbreakable spirit. It’s a love that's not afraid to shout from the rooftops, even if the rooftops are a bit weathered.

Love, in this sense, is an antidote to such systemic issues, promoting a harmonious and sustainable way of living and interacting.

In this wild ride of 'fuck you' love, there's a special shoutout to those on the edges, shaking up the system. It's in these moments that our love language, so fiercely unapologetic, confronts the delicate task of healing. When 'fuck you' unexpectedly stirs dormant shadows in someone we care for, it becomes a call – not to retreat – but to navigate these turbulent waters with a newfound grace. • The Universal Touch: Religio is all about creating a global community. No eternal fire, no pitchforks. Just good vibes and perhaps, virtual halos.

• A Web3 Perspective: In a world driven by technology, why shouldn’t our faith evolve as well? Combining age-old wisdom with modern tech offers a new path forward—one where everyone gets to be a part of the story.

Religio DAO: Bringing Sacredness to the Secular life

Religio is about believing and practice, not about dogmas or fanatism, not about showing-off, not about proselitism and never, never, ever about coercion. Religio is about connection to reality, connection to ourself, connection to the Spirit, to the everything and the nothing, to the Alpha and Omega. We are about awareness about the light and the shadows, the good and evil, and the individual but collective sovereignity to discover and connect with sacredness in our lifes, to develop the capability to always choose what is best for us all.

We are making a Religio DAO because it makes sense, because we need a global, but collective, but individual narrative unifies, evolves, includes, and amuses Us all. We are making this because we know the power of collective faith to enable the right platforms and spiritual-socio-economics mechanisms to make Us become the inhabitants of the paradise with Earth. We "just" need Faith and Coordination.

It is possible the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community, a community practicing understanding and lovingkindness, a community practicing mindful living. And the practice can be carried out as a group, as a city, as a nation.
