Although affected by the epidemic, new energy vehicles are still higher than the level in the same period of last year, but there has been a significant decline month on month, and the strong growth has slowed down since the second half of last year.

Chen Shihua stressed that new energy vehicles are a bright spot in China’s automobile industry. With the decline of the industry close to 50%, new energy vehicles have still achieved rapid growth, and the undelivered orders of new energy vehicles at the enterprise end are still very high.

In April, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 312000 and 299000 respectively, down 33.0% and 38.3% month on month, up 43.9% and 44.6% year on year, and the market share reached 25.3%; In the first four months, 1.605 million and 1.556 million new energy vehicles were produced and sold, with a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times and a market share of 20.2%.

However, from the specific situation of various auto enterprises within the new energy vehicle market, there are two distinct situations.

On the one hand, the traditional car enterprises represented by BYD, Geely and gac-e’an, as well as the new forces of second-line car manufacturing such as Zero run and Nezha, have still maintained a rapid growth trend; On the other hand, the sales of Tesla, which has attracted more attention from the market, and the new forces of car building in the head of “Wei Xiaoli”, have declined seriously.

This is mainly due to different sales modes. Tesla, velai and ideal cars all adopt the direct sales mode. This sales mode usually allows vehicles to be delivered directly from the production line to users through advance booking, and the transit circulation time is very short. Therefore, under the influence of the epidemic, the impact on the production end is more obvious at the delivery end.
