Introducing Heybela Sessions, a fresh take on music creation fueled by the power of Web3. Heybela's unique vision combines her creative freedom with the financial support of her fans around the world. Her goal is to create a solid movement willing to change the rules and impact the world through her music.

The birth of Heybela as an artist owes a lot to Web3, because it showed me a different way of doing things, it opened a door for me that i didn't know existed.

It has been exciting to walk this path, connecting with so many people who, like me, are fans of music and the whole process that goes into creating a song.

I have found incredible talents in this space, who have reaffirmed to me the cultural impact that music has.

It's time for new superstars to be born thanks to this new paradigm: Web3 as a talent incubator.

Vision:

I want to finance my first album as an artist through the sale of my NFTS.

I have always admired the movement once created on Soundcloud, where independent artists began to upload their music and make it an expansion of their identity, of their being.

The most exciting thing was to see how different artists and producers collaborated, amplifying the echo that their music generated, creating new sounds, and nurturing a community that simply wanted to listen and connect with genuine art.

I want to replicate that movement that once emerged on Soundcloud. Heybela's sessions will feature collaborations with different Web3 producers, creating a series of freestyles with different sounds that challenge me and showcase my versatility as an artist.

My mission is to impact the world through my music, create a community that shares my love for art, trusts my creativity and wants to support me.

The construction of the prison began in 1959, and it was inaugurated in 1960. For 23 years, the only ones who could enjoy the spectacle of the humpback whales were the prisoners of the Gorgona Penitentiary, which, between 1960 and 1983, housed inmates of different parts of Colombia.

Before Gorgona Island became a prison, it used to be a natural paradise, with more than 25 freshwater springs, one of them sulfur, in an area of ​​11 kilometers by 5. When it became a prison, it barely had a few weak streams of water, which in the strong summers disappeared; the ruthless felling of forests that was done daily to supply the stoves that had been burning since dawn, opened one more hole every day in the green mantle that protects it. The abundant and varied fauna had almost completely disappeared.

Currently, after being protected as a National Natural Park, and thanks to the efforts of local communities, researchers, volunteers, and more, Gorgona Island is one of the most preserved places on the planet; It has the most developed and preserved coral reefs in the eastern tropical Pacific: they are like forests in the sea.

It´s a National Park recognized worldwide and included in the Green List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)* for being one of the best preserved protected areas, for its good management, for promoting scientific research and its Community service; In addition, it´s a site of national and regional importance for the reproduction of humpback whales, a place of residence for dolphins, and a feeding and reproduction area for sea turtles.

Gorgona Island is in danger again.

On December 31, 2017, while everyone was celebrating the arrival of the new year, the project for the construction of a coast guard station on Gorgona Island was approved.

The coast guard substation that they want to build threatens the life and biodiversity of the island.

It consists of 3 large buildings:

1: A 55 m tower and a drug interdiction radar.

This tower has already been built but the radar is not installed yet, and its construction has already destroyed 61% of the top of the forest. This hill called "Trinidad" with 330 m high, was declared a natural recovery zone, created in order to mitigate the impact generated by the construction of the prison, and had been protected until the licensing of this project was allowed.

The Gorgona National Natural Park is one of the few preserved sites in the Colombian Pacific Ocean, where turtles can find beaches to lay their eggs, coral reefs to rest, and shelter, food, and reproduction areas.

The first phase of construction of the radar tower has had an impact on the mortality rate of two of the species that come to nest:

Lepidochelys olivacea (tortuga golfina)

Chelonia mydas agassizii (tortuga negra)

On the other hand, the installation of the radar would affect the terrestrial and marine life of the island. The path that leads to "La Trinidad" hill, an area of ​​importance for the reproduction of frogs, is already deteriorated by the constant passage of people and fuel transportation to the tower, which consumes 792 gallons per month.

2: A 163 m maritime pier with more than 100 metal piles.

They want to build a 163m long dock, which involves driving more than a hundred piles into the sea floor for months. The sound generated by this activity can affect many species, possibly causing their death by stunning. In addition, when the dock comes into operation there will be constant traffic of military vessels and the supply of gasoline will end with spills that will affect all species in the long term and permanently.

On the other hand, this project says that it`s feasible to sail at full speed with two engines 400 m from the coast. The drug interdiction motors used are 350 horsepower. Whales, dolphins and turtles will be the most affected during the operation of the pier and the transit of military vessels for drug interdiction.

Currently, boat collisions are the leading cause of death for whales. In the Isla Gorgona National Natural Park, mothers and babies can be observed just 20 m from the beach and up to 1 km they are mainly concentrated. There they spend most of their time resting, raising and feeding their babies. Gorgona is a sanctuary for whales! That will be affected by the passage of military vessels.

3: An operating block

The Gorgona National Natural Park was created for purposes of conservation and appreciation of its nature, not to be a place for military purposes.

In 2021 I took a trip to Danubio, which was full of challenges in every way! take the popcorn, because the story is long.

Danubio is a beautiful river in Valle del Cauca - Colombia, which I always wanted to visit since 2020; however, I got COVID in December of that year and ended up passing it on to my dad. He seemed fine, we both did our isolation and decided to continue with the plan to spend the final days of December in Roldanillo, his hometown. Once in Roldanillo, I remember being with my sister, packing the suitcase to travel the next day to Danubio, and my mother came over and asked us not to leave because she felt that my father was not doing well. We decided to stay, (I thank the universe very much for making us stay) and the next day, he was in such bad shape that he couldn't even walk. He hid from us that he had difficulty breathing for more than 3 days because he didn't want us to worry.

At that time in Colombia, there were not enough ICUs available, not even in the best hospitals! To make things worse, we were in a town where ICUs were non-existent. In short, my dad was about to die in the local hospital because they couldn't do anything for him since they didn't have the necessary equipment to care for him. Additionally, they couldn't transfer him to any other hospital because the hospitals with ICUs were full. Fortunately and out of nowhere, a miracle happened, and an ICU was vacated in a city an hour away, and after 20 days hospitalized, my dad survived…

That was my first attempt to visit Danubio, and I was given the great blessing of having my father alive. My second attempt was a year later in December 2021. This time we made it there, but not before going through some scares.

Every year we travel from Medellín to Roldanillo to spend the end of the year together, and this was no exception. I managed to convince my parents to join my sister and me to visit Danubio, so we traveled to Queremal, a town in Valle del Cauca 3 hours away from Roldanillo, to spend the night and get up early to travel to Danubio the next morning. On our way to Queremal, we decided we would stop at Lake Calima, but when we left, it was already getting dark. My dad knew the way, but we missed a turn to the right and got lost. We decided to use Waze and started to follow its directions, but we got even more lost. We asked a man from the area, and he helped with some directions, but suddenly, we had no signal and were on a country road in the middle of two mountains, everyone was silent in the car. We were all afraid because we didn't know the area and we couldn't go back. We began to see signs on the walls of a few farms that said we were entering FARC dissidents’ territory. We all looked at each other, no one said a thing. We were one and a half hours deep on a country road, but we managed to find our way and reach Queremal.

The next day, we got up early to drive towards Danubio and witness this natural wonder. Once again, I was amazed and speechless at the beauty of the biodiversity that we have in Colombia.

This trip made me confront myself and value the lives of my loved ones. Seeing these natural wonders reminded me that there’s magic everywhere around us, and while I was silent in the car, scared to death, I began to reflect on the power of love and forgiveness, and how they can transform the world.

With a party in the Metaverse, on February 14, 2021, we celebrate the debut of the first Cryptoperreo in history... we want to explain why this event is so important and what were our inspirations.

Cryptoperreo is a cultural movement that was born on Web3 and aims to educate those who aren´t yet aware of this new technological paradigm, in addition, it aspires to form a community around Latin urban culture, climb to different creative fields of Web3, such as cryptofashion, online, physical and hybrid  entertainment events, cryptomusic, cryptojewelry, among others, to generate a cultural revolution in the space.

This movement is inspired by the transformation that Medellín had thanks to Reggaeton, where the drug culture was changed for the music culture, especially urban music (Medellín is currently considered  the world capital of Reggaeton and the Latin American capital of Techno). Cryptoperreo debuted on web3 with a Reggaeton song that talks about Web3, NFTS, and crypto, and with an art work highlighting various media celebrities who have helped build Web3.

We want art to be decentralized, here "perreo" is decentralized, that's why we are betting on this project that aims to empower not only Reggaeton actors, a Latin genre that has become very popular in the global music industry, also all the artists of the Latin community.

We wanted to do this first job, as a love letter to the crypto community... This is just a preview of what this movement will be. FOR CULTURE, WEB3, AND THE FUTURE WE´RE BUILDING; WELCOME TO THE CRYPTOMOVEMENT, BECOME PART OF THIS REVOLUTION. 

Collaboration with the Latin community

One of the main goals of Cryptoperreo is to empower the Latin community and bring new artists, who didn´t know about Web3, to the space... Therefore, we´ll collaborate with Latin artists from all fields; this movement will address all kinds of cultural expression. 

We want to bring Latin diversity to the Web3 space and make ourselves present, working together, and transforming the reality of many artists.

Inspired by the history of Medellín

Just like upcoming artist Heybela , Medellín - Colombia it's the hometown of world class artists like J balvin , Maluma, Juanes, Karol G, Feid, Farina… & also became the place where many Reggaetoneros from Puerto Rico revived their music career like Nicky Jam among others.

So back in the 80's and early 90's Medellín used to be the Silicon Valley of cocaine; and thanks to that all kids wanted to be like him.

Innovation, entrepeneurship and guess what...Reggaeton changed this! For instance this is Comuna 13. Thanks to infraestructure (electric stairs for the neighborhood) and Culture (music) things started to change.

The more Maluma, J Balvin and Karol G grew, a new industry started to develop. This with music studios, production studios, dancers, managers, event promoters, photographers, audiovisual producers, composers, producers, models, nightclubs and all the "supply chain" that is required to provide more world class reggaeton stars.

We believe that we can start a similar trend on Web3.The more Web3 artists become successful here,more opportunities will be provided to NFT visual artists, NFT marketers and everything that we know doesn't exist but we can build together with the community.

So Reggaeton has the power of mainstream adoption. Not only in Latin America but also in the rest of the world.  Imagine what we can do on Web3 with blockchain, tokenization and NFTs!

Motivations Behind the music:

We wanted to represent the history of Medellín, so the beat has the sound of that city, a Reggaeton with batteries with a dry and stuck blow… we wanted the beat  to feel dark and sensual, to convey that vibe you feel when you're in a nightclub in Medellín.

In the lyrics we used Web3 idioms like: IRL and GM and we mentioned important projects for the community such as cryptopunks and cool cats. The delivery and the flow are of a very Reggaeton style, we wanted to preserve that Latin essence when interpreting the song.

The lyrics portray this new reality where the bling bling is no longer having a Ferrari or a gold chain, but accessing exclusive communities and having valuable NFTs.

Motivations behind the art

We wanted to create a "Metaverse" where OG's (collectors/celebrities) and art collectibles are joined together thanks to music and in this case to Reggaeton music & the Cryptoperreo.

Searching for references I found two iconic pieces that inspired me a lot.

The first one was this ad that was made by references of different music bands. It was super cool to see the integration of many objects/subjects and how it worked out really well despite the amount of elements.

The second reference was "The Last Supper". I really got inspired by a "Last Supper" that you can find in the famous salsa-music nightclub "La Topa Tolondra". This one it's located in Cali, Colombia. The painting it's a tribute to the best salsa-music singers in history.

After that I got inspired by the "twerking" or "perreo" in spanish. This is a very iconic move in urban music and especially in reggaeton.

Also let's google the "Metaverse" where blues, pinks and purples are all over the place.

Now let's talk about the characters that you can find in the art.

This in reality it's a tribute to ppl and art collectibles that have turned the NFTs into part of Pop Culture.

As a @miamiadschool graduate Pop Culture it's a big part of who I am. I take it very seriously!!! & that's why I deep dived into the Web 3/NFTs culture when I understood that it what we were doing was 5 years ahead in terms of technology and also in terms of culture.

So from left to right, the first character you'll see it's @thalia . She has been the queen of TV Novelas, the latin pop queen of youtube & now the meta latin queen of web 3. She was one of the first people to hear the cryptoperreo in one of his twitter spaces

In two of her weekly NFT rooms in spanglish she talked about our project with me & @HeybelaNFT . She loved the concept, the song and she supported us from day 1 & that felt like the fairy godmother to us. So as a tribute it was the first person that thought about.

The second character is Dead Fellaz 3.764 . We want to thank HODLER @Memo_Mx for helping us there. We admire Dead Fellaz because it has a great female founder and it's an inspiration for future female founders of web 3/NFT projects.

Third character is the Shiba Inu Dog of Dogecoin. It's a big character of meme coins and pop culture in general thanks to the Doge father @elonmusk and the Doge founder @BillyM2k . Yeah, the guy that sold all his Dogecoins to buy an old used Honda Civic.

The fourth character it's Pepe the frog. Rare Pepes collection was an OG collection that basically created the category of crypto collectibles. So it was a no-brainer to have it here.

The 5th character it's @garyvee . Gary basically predicted NFTs 12 years ago. He is a NFT thought leader, a big collector and created the first NFT agency for web 3.

The next character in the art is @ParisHilton . She is an early adopter as a collector & helped a lot of female artists. Actually she was the first celebrity to explain NFTs on US Late Night TV just like Bill Gates did 25 years ago with the explanation of the internet.

The next character in the art is @VitalikButerin , the creator of Ethereum. Without Ethereum there wouldn't be smart contracts & there wouldn't be NFTs.

The next character in the art is BAYC 9711. BAYC is the most NFT valuable collectible in this moment. And actually the collectible that is breaking into mainstream media. So again thank you @Memo_Mx for helping us to make this happen.** **

The next character in the art is OG @CozomoMedici . The name it's like a parody to Cosimo de' Medici, the great Italian art collector. But actually Cozomo is one of the most iconic NFT collectors out there.

Last but not least is @SnoopDogg . Also a great collector an NFT promoter. Rumors say @CozomoMedici it's actually Snoop Dogg himself. So having them both twerking (perreando) together was a nice gag there for many ppl following the NFT space.** **

In the background you'll see clouds. Like any sky. But you'll also see sand clocks. These represent the conflict between immersion in the virtual worlds(metaverses) vs IRL world.

Coquena is a foundation dedicated to the rescue and recovery of animals, located in a small town in Colombia called: Roldanillo - Valle del Cauca. Because my father was born in this town, and I have always been an animal lover, my sister and I have been helping this foundation for several years, since they have very few resources and  there's still a lack of education against animal abuse…  so it's very common to hear cases of abandonment and abuse.

I really value what this foundation does for the animals of the region. I have had the opportunity to follow their work closely and I have seen how the owner of the foundation has sacrificed everything to save the lives of many animals... Every week, she finds the way to obtain funds to be able to feed them and continue supplying them with the medicine they require, is a woman that I admire and respect and that I´d like to help, so that she continues to improve the quality of life of many more animals.

My sister and I have an angel in our house that we adopted two years ago, and it has been one of the greatest gifts that life has given us. We have had the opportunity to see how love can heal deep wounds from the past, and we managed to get Alana, our dog, to trust humans again.

Love can transform the world, and we can help in many ways to make this world a better place for everyone. That's why on this occasion I want to help Coquena... soon I hope to be able to join many more projects and different causes.
