• The autoplay feature has been refined, with pauses now based on punctuation for an improved autoplay experience.

A multitude of bugs have been fixed, too many to detail each one. Highlighting two important fixes:

• The bug that could clear assets when using the undo button to reverse the last action has been corrected.

• The bug with a certain chance of a chapter turning into the work’s title and causing all assets within the chapter to vanish has been resolved.

  • A profile redirection feature has been added, allowing clicks on user avatars or nicknames to navigate to their personal profiles.

  • The commenting system has been refined, facilitating replies to specific users in threaded comments.

  • History tracking has been enhanced with the following updates.

    • Integration of a voice playback option.

    • Touchscreen and mouse wheel navigation through history records.

    • An option has been integrated into the gaming interface.

    • The game loading interface has been optimized to include an exit feature.

    • Game settings have been made more user-friendly. Adjustable sliders for various options are now interactive.

  • Bug Fixes

    • Remedied the bug that necessitated an extra click to initiate playback after hitting the play button in the reader.

    • Rectified the issue where the mute symbol in the reader stayed illuminated and couldn’t be switched off.

    • Fixed the persistent misalignment of tables on the HumiGal storyboard editor page.

    • Re-attempted to correct the problem of chapters going missing (the complete resolution of which remains uncertain).

開発サイクルを調整しました。

イテレーションサイクルの調整：

今後のHumiHumiのアップデートは、1週間に1回から2週間に1回に変更されます。これは、テスト機能をより時間をかけて研磨するためと、毎週のリリースによる開発時間の圧迫を減らすためです。

過去の数ヶ月間、継続的な高速アップデートを目指していましたが、実際に試してみると、バージョンのアップデートには少なくとも1日が必要であり、1週間という期間では開発する機能によっては、開発からテスト、調整、最適化まで満足のいくプロセスを終えることができませんでした。製品開発は速度ばかりを求め、品質を犠牲にすることではありません。

次回のアップデートは、4月2日に予定されています。少し待っていただくことになりますが、私たちは全力を尽くします。

Greetings, everyone! By the title, you might have guessed that we are unable to proceed with today’s scheduled update, and we offer our deepest apologies for this setback.

In the last few weeks, our update pace has been slower than expected, leading us to the conclusion that we must address the problems we’ve accumulated to advance more effectively and swiftly. As a result, last week we meticulously organized and planned our development schedule, including optimization specifics.

In essence, we’ve recognized that development speed is essential, but not at the expense of quality. We need to maintain a balance between the two.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s understanding, support, and suggestions thus far. We’re particularly grateful to those who have diligently reported bugs and offered valuable optimization feedback — your assistance has been crucial in our planning and prioritization of development tasks!

Last week’s progress

HumiHumi had the pleasure of welcoming a talented front-end engineer last week! With this expert’s assistance, we’re confident that both HumiGal and HumiHumi will offer a better and more seamless user experience.

We’ve restructured our development plan and will move forward with full throttle in the following sequence:

March:

Focus on optimization! Tackle the critical issues that have been built up over the last month, as well as implement some features urgently required for the creative process.

For the second quarter:

Enhance stability and eliminate lags — by developing a desktop version of the HumiGal engine.

Facilitate easier content creation — by developing a public asset library.

Boost the quality of presentations — by adding special effects capabilities.

We’ve also adjusted our update cycle:

HumiHumi updates will now occur biweekly. This change aims to allocate more time for refining and testing features, and to lessen the impact of weekly releases on development time.

Over the past few months, we’ve aimed for continuous rapid updates, but we’ve realized that each update consumes at least a full day, and a week is often too short to complete the development, testing, and optimization process to our satisfaction. We cannot compromise quality for speed.

We anticipate the next update will roll out on April 2nd. Despite the wait, we are committed to giving it our all.

Once again, we thank you for your understanding and support. The HumiHumi team will persist in our efforts to meet your expectations!

Update Forecast

1. We will optimize the registration/login interface to default to email-based registration. This change will make it less likely for users to forget their accounts, and should they forget, account recovery via email will be a breeze.

2. We’re enhancing the HumiHumi reading feature by introducing voice playback, fast-forward, and game exit capabilities. We’ll also be refining the user experience on the history record and settings pages.

3. Improvements to HumiGal will include the introduction of freely configurable option jumps and the ability to start trial play from the current storyboard. Additionally, we’ll be fixing bugs such as misaligned frames and the malfunctioning undo feature.

4. We’re optimizing server data to boost loading speeds even further. Users will also be able to download chapters ahead of time for offline play, complemented by a more visible download progress indicator.

5. The HumiHumi home browsing experience will be enhanced by adding features for page realignment and browsing position memory.

HumiGal is a zero-code engine for Galgames and visual novels, designed for easy reading on mobile phones, tablets, and computers. With its simple interface, even those without prior experience in creating visual novels can get started within five minutes. HumiGal supports the serialized release of chapters in visual novels.

New Features and Enhancements

HumiGal Engine

• We’ve added a feature that allows you to cancel names. Now, an option is available in the name field on the storyboard editing page, which is equivalent to removing a name.

• We’ve optimized the UI interface and some translations for clarity, and we’ve corrected ambiguous phrases to make them easier to understand.

• We’ve enhanced the thumbnail display in the material library. Now, characters’ faces and expressions in thumbnails are no longer obstructed.

• We’ve optimized the trial play interface. The screen ratio is now locked at 16:9, ensuring that the trial view matches the final gameplay experience.

• We’ve optimized the illustration display to maintain consistent performance effects. We’ve adjusted the display method for illustrations, and creators may need to re-check their published works to see if any adjustments are needed. 
  [Note]: The current illustration display method is a transitional solution with room for improvement. We welcome more suggestions and will explore how to support creators in freely adjusting the position and size of illustrations.

• We’ve improved the material library’s format support by limiting the upload format to prevent game loading failures due to incompatible formats.

• HumiHumi Reading Platform

  • We’ve set the game interface to a 16:9 ratio, ensuring a consistent gameplay experience across different devices and resolutions.

  • We’ve optimized the text box display, so the text position remains fixed during gameplay.

  • We’ve improved the game settings interface, allowing for the full display of the menu bar at the bottom of the settings page.

  Bug Fixes

  • We’ve resolved the recurring issue where, if video materials are added in the editor, the current chapter could become uneditable.

  • We’ve corrected the problem with GIF images not playing properly. You’ll need to re-upload the related images in the material library. Please note that previously uploaded GIFs may still not play correctly.

  Exciting new features and enhancements

  Improvements to HumiGal’s editing functions:

  • A new feature that allows ‘Starting trial play from the currently selected storyboard’ will be introduced.

  Enhancements to HumiHumi’s reading functionalities:

  • An update reminder will be implemented: If a user’s app is not up-to-date, a pop-up will appear to guide them through the update process.

  • An in-game sharing feature will be added: Users will be able to share their current game page using the in-game camera button.

  • Multilingual tag support will be introduced: Each language will have its own independent tag library, with the work detail page displaying the appropriate language’s tag library based on the selected language.

  • Comment functionality will be enhanced: Nested reply and reporting capabilities will be added.

  Anticipated bug fixes

  • Inability to save shared images to the local gallery

  • Intermittent issues with text display in the text box during gameplay, particularly when moving from one chapter to the next

  • Random occurrences of chapter loss, causing published chapter pages to revert to an unpublished state

  • Video storyboards not playing properly on the mobile app

  • Instances where chapters containing videos fail to load completely on the mobile app

  • Potential errors arising from adding or removing branch storyboards in the editor, such as branch anomalies, material problems, and storyboard misalignments (This area is intricate and challenging to address. If local adjustments prove ineffective, a major overhaul might be undertaken to permanently resolve these issues while improving the editing experience)

• Implemented a comment reply function, allowing users to reply to other users’ comments.

• Implemented a report function: users can report comments, works, and creators to maintain a healthy creative environment. Everyone is responsible!

• Optimized the registration and login pages.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug where adding video materials in the editor could make the current chapter uneditable.

• Completely fixed the bug where users couldn’t exit the detail page and return to the home page.

• Fixed a bug where the background music had a certain chance of not playing.

• 「お気に入り」機能を改善し、「マイ」ページの下で登録した作品を確認できるようになりました。

• ログイン/登録ページの言語最適化をしました。システムの言語に合わせて適切な情報を表示できます（日本語、中国語、英語のみ）。

バグの修正

• アバター素材と動画素材の圧縮パラメータに関連する誤ったバグを修正しました。

• 動画素材を含む章が全く読み込めないバグを修正しました。

• CG画像が完全に表示されないバグを修正しました。

Added identification markers to the chapter page in the editor to indicate the publishing status, allowing creators to easily identify published chapters.

HumiHumi Reading Platform

• Implemented a comment feature, enabling users to engage in discussions and exchange comments under the works.

• The desktop version of the HumiHumi platform has been successfully integrated.

• Enhanced the bookmark feature, allowing users to conveniently access their bookmarked works on the “Account” page.

• Optimized the language display on the login/registration page, showing information based on the system language (supporting Chinese, Japanese, and English).

• Improved the responsiveness of the official website across different devices.

Bug Fixes

• Fixed a bug related to incorrect compression parameters for Portrait and Video materials.

• Resolved an issue where chapters with video materials were not loading properly.

• Rectified a bug where CG images were not displaying completely at times.

• Fixed a bug that prevented users from returning to the homepage after viewing the detail page.

• There will be a chance that BGM materials may not load correctly during gameplay (We have identified the issue and plan to completely resolve it in the next iteration!).

• If a chapter in the editor contains video materials, the chapter may become uneditable.

• Shared images will not be able to be saved to the local photo album.

• Adding or deleting branches in the editor may cause a series of errors (branch anomalies, material anomalies, misaligned storyboards, and more).
