Hi

Let me start with saying any stuff I post here (and in the future) is sourced from an unadultered madman with an uncanny tendency to ramble and rage-type at ungodly hours of the day while juiced on caffeine among other substances (hint: me)

At some point, I considered writing presentable articles for readers, but the pain of upkeeping that stuff was beyond me, so for now, enjoy a typo littered and gramatically tilting blurb of conciousness! Blame my mental illness. =D

Map Stuff Out

The first thing I did when I entered crypto was read a lot. I mean, A LOT. Thankfully I had a tech background and spent some years in tradfi, so things weren’t too bad. For those that don’t, you might have to brush up on that stuff first (mostly the tech, not the finance). In terms of reading, I started off with the basics of how Bitcoin really worked with miners, the point of consensus, and how the incentivization of tokens help maintain this magical system known as the blockchain ledger. But i’m not here to talk about the basics.

After reading a bunch of stuff, I started seeing patterns between certain protocols and the sort of relationship they had in the whole ecosystem. Since then, I started tracking things that are crypto “native” versus things that are pretty much still “web2”. I realized at the time (a while ago), there was really only a few branches that would emcompass most of what I understood in crypto

Store Of Value

Decentralized Products

Tradfi Stuff

Infrastructure

As such, I started down a path of creating a map that categorizes each of these topics (keep in mind this stuff is a bit old and created by a retard that knew nothing)

Crypto World 101

The map itself isn’t so revolutionary, but the exercise of creating one was invaluable. It forced me to separate the difference between Store of Value versus Defi Products. This is an important concept because you never want to mix the two, or at least be sure which part of a protocol belongs to what. This map also separates the difference between Infrastructure versus the rest - an importance distinction again since it puts into perspective how L1s are fundamentally different from Dapps and tokens.

So what?

Well, this was a midnight rambling… what else do you want? No im kidding, please don’t leave. This is where I tell you to please subscribe, hit the notification bell and do some therapy until you become gay.

But for real, if you enjoyed this, or have feedback, please feel free to reach out and DM! I’m planning to release more of these blurbs as I go dig through my archived drive of ramblings. The next one is going to be about “war”, whatever that meant

Kisses,

HQ
